And, at 20 no.1 singles. They still hold that record and the total of album sales is no.1 also. With how they award no.1s now, their record will probably fall, it's a combination of air play, downloads and sales. I was reading that a group had a recent song that only had 200 sales and made it in the top 100.

This was exactly how the original movie started. The High Definition that was put into this footage is beyond incredible. It truly looks like it was shot with today's technology. Personally, the songs that came from these sessions are some of my favorites and shows that even under less than stellar conditions, the Beatles' talent as a band were immense. Even George Martin would prepare people meeting the 4 Beatles together of this "magical-like aura" that seemed to present itself everytime the 4 Beatles were in the room together. It was truly powerful. Even he, himself, felt this everytime he was in the room with the four of them.
This was shot on film. You are probably very young not to realize that color film was around for a century and the technology matured in 1950s. 70mm film has quality difficult to match with digital technology of today.
Look at George, all those Beatles years behind him:- all those stages, from the 'Early' stuff and changes of style to psychedelia etc..and he's TWENTY FIVE... Yup.
Think of this: Exactly 7 years and one day before this day, the Beatles auditioned for their first album and were rejected because "rock groups were in decline". All of the Beatles history pretty much happened in those seven years. Where were you seven years ago? Think of it...

I really like how these videos cut back and forth between 50 years of film history. Get Back was a great watch and I liked the modernized footage, but it's as interesting to see just how distant those days (and their technology) were from our own.
There were completely daft. They needed to take six months off after the White Album, then come back refreshed and then done a proper tour or something. Fourteen new songs in less than a month was just nuts.
The daunting task of writing and rehearsing 14 new songs. There only turned out to be 9 songs on the album and Maggie Mae and Dig It shouldnt even count.
I love the Beatles. I have the original let it be that was burned on a dvd. Peter Jackson did a great job making it look clear, but the editing was choppy and the dialogue didn't always match up. If they could marry the original let it be footage with Jacksons version,then that'll be the ultimate Beatles cut of the film.. but it was still enjoyable, except the editing was bugging me.

I never found the Let It Be movie to be interesting except for the rooftop concert. Tedious and endless tuning of instruments, repeating of song lyrics and abrupt rehearsals. People carrying around equipments. I've been a Beatles fan for four decades but I'm into the songs and the music and not the BS. Some Beatles fans can't even tell anymore when they are given something old disguised as something new and will buy anything and everything regardless of its true significance.
I stopped listening to the Beatles as a teen you can only listen to every album so much, and I wore them out. But this was actually fascinating for how immediate it seemed to be in the past and the dynamic between Paul, George and John. The music is secondary almost, most of it was shite as you say during it.
I could tolerate Yoko being there WAY more than that psychotic looking Hare Krishna serial killer guy staring at me. I don't know how they made it through that.
