  • As yall know I have been rooting for Joost for the past few months! I’m devastated. I heard that #EdenGolan the #Israel artist at #eurovision may have been involved in this issue which caused Joost to be disqualified, but these are rumors I heard earlier today.
I think Eurovision owes Joost an apology. But he is bigger than that contest anyways and he will rise up from this in no time! We

You don't have to be disappointed in Joost, he did nothing wrong!
They filmed him against the rules and he repeatedly asked to stop filming
It was at the moment right after he came off stage and had to hurry to the green room.
He then made a movement against the camera. That's all!
Totally disproportionate action to disqualify him!
My whole country is devastated but we all support him and love him maybe even more now.

Immediately after his performance when he walked off stage he was filmed by a camera woman. Joost had previously indicated that he did not want to be filmed at this time. He had reported it to this camera woman twice. When she continued to annoyingly chase him, he gestured to the camera. He didn't touch her. This was apparently enough to rule him out. Joost suffered mental damage during his youth, he sang about it in the song PTSD. When he is tired he has difficulty with extra stimuli. Despite these mental problems, Joost has adhered to all the rules surrounding the festival. Joost is an autonomous artist and likes to have everything under control.
I do think that the problems surrounding Eden Golan and the extra security have caused extra stress and that the fuse at the EBU has become shorter. Joost's Instagram page has grown to 1.2 million followers in 2 days, Joost will manage. He will use his experiences to make beautiful music that makes people happy. Joost is a stage animal, his live concerts are great.

Great response! I agree with everything & being someone who lost their mother at an early age I also face mental issues similar to Joost which is something i’ve said over and over. I truly understand him. When I said I was disappointed in him, that came from a personal place because I have lashed out before when my mental fuse is low & then immediately regret it. But I don’t see him any differently, if anything I see his future growing tremendously with all this press! He will be way bigger than Eurovison & for that we can have some peace! He’s great!

Hi sweet of you to react
    This is so unfair.
People in the Netherlands are so angry.
    The whole situation was difficult.
When he went there some called him a zionist because Israël was there to.
They even said he had blood on his hands during demonstrations.
Some called his song political and propaganda but it is his personal story.
    Some haters called him names.
So he was stressed about this.
On the press conference they asked the singer from Israel
    about her being there
because it could bring danger to the others.
The man next to her said; you do not have to answer.
Joost who just had performed and was tired and emotional
    said; why not.
    So she explained.
    That was all.
But online the people from Israël started to call him a disgrace and a bullie and an anti semitist some even called him a nazi.
But you see he was under a lot of stress.
I know because he was hiding under our flag.
He always does this when he is overwhelmed and emotional.
He does this also at concerts.
When he left stage after performing that Swedish camera woman filmed him.
He asked her polite not to do that before.
    She disrespected that.
So he asked her two times to stop.
Than he made a move towards her but did not touch her.
Joost was disqualified because of this.
    Totally unfair.
He has gone through a lot during his period in Malmo.
I was often online and the things people said were awful.
    Maybe out of jealousy.
Maybe because he had the most views but also some blamed him for being there, some blamed him for his song that was called propaganda, some blamed him for being honest.
So we are sad about it.
    Joost his father helped
refugees he raised him to be respectful to all people and not to discriminate.
Joost was an orphan at a very young age.
He used this in his songs and poetry.
His work is about his personal story.
He wanted to go to Malmo because it was his dream to be there.
He always watched Eurovision with his parents.
The way he is raised he wanted to connect people.
His intentions were absolutely not political.
He was blamed from all sides while being honest and himself.
    That is not fair.
The only thing he wants is peace just like me.
    I am a pacifist to.
The singer from France was discriminated and bullied to.
And the winner from Switzerland was bullied to.
I guess they all were bullied for different reasons.
Some even considered his grief fake.
I mean how could that be fake after all he went.
You lost your mother to you know how it feels.
Many people relate to his song and feel less lonely in their grief because he shares it.
Maybe they just did not understand his song.
Like the fire. It was symbolic. He burned the past he choose life.
But everybody saw things on their own way while he is a poet and an artist who shares his personal feelings.
    War only brings grief.
    Common people suffer.
    They do not want this.
I have seen graves of young soldiers.
Their mother laid little bags of crips on their graves boys 20 years old.
I have seen children eating cooked weeds on tv.
I have seen girls being raped and killed on tv.
So what good brings a war only grief and orphans.
My mother and father were young during the second world war.
Now we live in peace with our neighbours.
    That is much better.
Joost being an orphan on a young age understands grief.
All those people who love Joost understand him. That is why so many support him.
In this world we need love and we need fun and happiness and yes clowns.
Because you have to have to cope with darkness you understand that to.
Nobody asks you to be against Eurovision.
    But this situation was unfair.
If you know the whole story you understand his behaviour.

I’m not upset at him, mostly upset that Eurovision would disqualify him but keep Israel there. I’m all for making things right, and giving people benefits of the doubt, but if they want to kick one person out for something like having his boundaries crossed, I truly believe that he was unjustly treated. The Netherlands is making it a court case now. The EBU should have made it clear on Friday that they wanted to disqualify Joost but they waited 1,5 day. The Netherlands didn't get the chance to appeal against the ruling on Friday. The EBU announced the disqualification just before the final.
Agreements were already made in advance that Joost would NOT be filmed after the emotional end of his song.
Why is it okay by the EBU that a camerawoman doesn't respect that? Joost asked her many times not to film him and at the end he pushes the camera away, he didn't touch anybody and it costs him the final.
But.. I think everybody still knows Joost in 30 years.

It feels very unfair. Statement from our Dutch broadcaster:
We have taken note of the disqualification by the EBU. AVROTROS finds the disqualification disproportionate and is shocked by the decision. We deeply regret this.
An incident occurred after last Thursday's performance. Against clearly made agreements, Joost was filmed when he had just gotten off stage and had to rush to the greenroom. At that moment, Joost repeatedly indicated that he did not want to be filmed. This wasn’t respected. This led to a threatening movement from Joost towards the camera. Joost did not touch the camera woman. This incident was reported, followed by an investigation by the EBU and police.
Yesterday and today we consulted extensively with the EBU and proposed several solutions. Nevertheless, the EBU has still decided to disqualify Joost Klein. AVROTROS finds the penalty very heavy and disproportionate. We stand for good manners -let there be no misunderstanding about that- but in our view, an exclusion order is not proportional to this incident.

After he got backstage there was a camera woman filming him, ignoring the agreement that he will not be filmed. He asked and told her not to film him and she completly ignored his wishes. He then made a sort of gesture to the camera and did not touch the woman at all. She felt uneasy and filed a complaint to the EBU and the damn police... According to the Dutch broadcasting network: there was a disproportionate response from ebu to the incident. What we can gather: Joost hasnt been arrested, there has Not been any physical contact. The incident happend on Thursday after stage, preformers were NOT supposed to be filmed after coming off stage. And this camera woman came after him, even after being asked several times to not film him & his crew.
The interviews were on Friday afternoon: Joost already knew something was up: hence his response to the question: do you think your song will unite Europe?- "you'll have to ask the ebu about that..." There was nothing about Israel, other than two comments during that same interview.
Joost was harassed, the EBU failed to protect their contestants, imo.
The Ebu also says violence isnt appropriate, but kept Azerbaijan and Israel in, after disqualifying Russia. This is not consequent. All should be expelled from participating, as their governments have committed/are committing warcrimes! Either Russian singer have to be allowed back in, or these two need to also be out!

After the Israeli delegation started to behave the way they did (harassing, spying on, hating, provoking and secretly filming/taking photos of not only artists but also the press who was there) it became 10 times worse, when Joost was disqualified that’s when full chaos started. The EBU is now in trouble with not only all the broadcasters and artists who reported what happened with the Israeli delegation but also the EU itself is involved now too bc the European flag was suddenly banned after Joost got disqualified and the EU sees that as unfair and wants an explanation why it was banned (normally it is allowed). Avrotros is suing the EBU and multiple counties are writing to the EBU demanding an explanation as to why Joost was disqualified bc it is seen as “too harsh” in almost everyones eyes. Update: Joost agreed with the organiser not get filmed or photographed after his performances. However, he still got harassed by an EBU employee who was filming him without his consent. After repeatedly telling her not to film him, he made a move towards her camera (mobile phone), which shocked her, and probably dropped her phone as a result. Keep in mind however, Joost never touched her during this incident. Seems to me, that the EBU simply wanted to have a scapegoat and they picked Joost. Why? Who knows? Could be anything. But, not letting Russia not take part of the competition (due to the situation with Ukraine) and letting Israel compete, which is technically having the same situation as Russia, following this current situation with Joost, it is as if the Eurovision is starting to show some 'rotten eggs' within the organisation itself as well.

@@Sheabutterss No, he wouldn't have won. There is a jury that prioritizes that the singing voice is strong.
In other years he might have had a chance, but there were a number of serious performances this year with very strong vocalists. As soon as I heard Nemo, I just knew he had the jury's attention. And Nemo had my vote too.

@@cathal4921 Precisely, I found Joost entertaining, but for winning was someone else. I looked up Nemo as he has a great voice and skills: learned that he with only 9 years was on stage and played and sang the part of Papageno, later part of a musical team before he started rapping in his mid teens.

This is a good example how the politics and money deals with persons who stick their head out of the fields and get to much attention by the crowd. The Swedish camera women got an apartment in Tel Aviv after forcing this statement to the police. Of course no proof but this is how it always goes. That's why we embraced WikiLeaks but also they had to shut down. Only a few benefits from this situation and it is easy to find out who. #Follow the money #Assange #Fight Corruption League

I liked your previous videos, but you totally missed it on this one dear. You based your decision on nothing. Please look further to understand what really happened. Watch de Telegraaf with english subtitles for example.

    Joost is absolutely devastated😢
I feel so incredibly sad for him. This man worked half his life to get to this point and now, right before he reached his goal, just because some dumb B screamed something, they took his dream and his promise to his parents away from him..
He didn't even do anything, asked her multiple times to stop and she continued, then made a hand gesture towards the camera and BAM, he lost everything....just like that...as if this man hadn't had enough sadness and bad luck throughout his life.
Oh man I am so freaking mad and I'm so happy the rest of the world is too. I love how many people, worldwide, support him and love him. He needs it right now.😢
