Love this! As to the number of petals -- there's a type of poppy known as the Remembrance Poppy in remembrance of those killed in Europe during World War II. I do not believe it is a "real" poppy, but rather one with the number of petals determined by a particular region in England/Europe. Some poppies of this type have three petals.
