This is lovely! Very labor-intensive, but even my limited sewing skills could manage this. This would have to be a gift for someone I care about a LOT! Thank you for sharing!
What a cute bag/basket. So much work and love went into making this. I too hope that the person who gets this bag will appreciate the time, work and love that this bags holds. Thank you for sharing your lovely craft!
This is a fantastic idea. I’ve been trying to find ways to use the mountain of left over fabric pieces. This is perfect. I would love to try and make it larger, like handbag or shopping bag size.
OMGOsh this the most darling thing since sliced bread! And it looks pretty basic....wait till my sister who taught me to sew in our family of 9 we had too! Wait till she recieves one of these beaties! Young lady you have made my day!!!! Thank you so pictures and comments to follow as I now follow you fellow creative person!😜
Beautiful, and, in a way, reminds me of kumihimu but on a flat surface. I might give it a try, your demonstration is just wonderful and clear. A lovely way to use up pretty pieces of fabric.
I enjoy giving a gift that the receiver knows was probably time consuming, and would be "too hard" for them to make. Most people don't have the time or the patience to make something like this. I am retired and have been sewing for 55 years. This isn't "hard". It's time consuming. That's the beauty of it.
Love it! You did a great job! That would be a great gift to receive! If others don't want to spend time in making others happy, they should just keep scrolling!!!
I can't imagine being bold enough to make that statement. If you don't have something good to say, choose not to say anything. Unless you like showing contempt for others. Please be kind!
I love this idea. I have some left over fabric from Christmas projects and I will use that the lining for my Christmas basket I fill with fruit each year. Thanks for the great idea.
Somewhere I have the old pattern for this from the 1990s. It had lining fabric though and you could add batting in the pieces so they had dimension. I made several and one of our cats loved to sleep in it for her bed.
Decades ago I made a similar basket using colorful magazine pages backed with glue and very lightweight fabric (gauze or similar). I still have it because I love how it turned out. I never thought to use fabric this way. Seems it will be more useful and durable. I definitely have plenty of fabric for this, including old jeans of mine and my husband's. Thanks for sharing! Just 1 question, how wide and how long are the fabric strips before sewing them?
Awesome! So much patience and work to do this basket with fabric scraps. Don’t think I’ve got the patience to do this. Keep up the good work! 👍 Have a blessed weekend 🙏 Watching you from Singapore 🇸🇬
POSITIVELY ADORABLE! The idea of a plastic liner inside would be great for using with plants or just a basket to give support structure. I am always up for new ways to use those scraps. I think this would be great to make it fit quart canning jars to pretty up your cabinets, bathroom or sewing room. I want to make one for my water bottle with a long strap. This idea would be great to cover many ugly things so they will be PRETTY! THANK YOU SEW MUCH FOR YOUR SHARE😊
Lovely idea. Wondering if this would work well with different shades of heavy denim scraps cut into same strips but no sewing giving it a scrappy look with raw edges, except for the straps.
Gonna make me a shoulder bag can sew lengthen strips to continue making it deeper like basket weaving. Anyway gonna give it a shot & figure out a more oval bottom...not gonna sew strip edges or just baste bit ravely boho like...

@@emeraldgypsyheart I’m sorry to hear that. On another note, I have recently discovered audiobooks on RUclips, brilliant! Happy Christmas to both of you.
What a great idea. My Sister in law does a lot of patchwork and always has leftovers. I will pass on this clever creation. Thank you for sharing. I am curious to know what is the tool used to turn strips. ❤
This is lovely! Very labor-intensive, but even my limited sewing skills could manage this. This would have to be a gift for someone I care about a LOT! Thank you for sharing!
I have done several kinds of weavings in the past, but I have never seen anything like yours! This is so unique! Great! Thanks!
Thanks 😍😍😍.
Your level of patience is to be admired. Very creative. Thank you.
Nifty project! I especially liked how you used the circles for the weaving up the sides.
Thanks.
What a neat idea. Love how you used the clips to hold everything in place as you wove it. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks ❤️❤️❤️.
Thanks!
Thank you very much ❤️❤️❤️❤️.
Actually I’ve just had a brilliant idea. I would join all the little bits you cut off and make the bias out of those. Ugh can’t wait to make it.
Thank you very much.
I would do that also.
Same here
Wow ! A great way to use the small scraps ! Thank you
I would have used another 2-3 strips/circles to weave higher sides. Then there would be hardly anything to cut off.
Great use of fabric scraps! That is a very nifty tool for turning the strips right side out.
What a cute bag/basket. So much work and love went into making this. I too hope that the person who gets this bag will appreciate the time, work and love that this bags holds. Thank you for sharing your lovely craft!

Thank you for watching video and comment.
Enjoyed immensely!
Yes, I thought about making ones in different sizes, too. A project for the upcoming holidays 😊
Thank you! My daughter-in-law would love this. If I include a plastic liner, could be used with a pretty house plant.
That’s a super great idea for this beautiful project.
A lot of hard work goes into these little bags. It is very nice. I hope the person who receives one will so appreciate the work that went into this.
Thanks ❤❤❤❤.
That's beautiful, a lovely way to use your left over fabrics.
Thanks ❤❤❤❤.
WONDERFUL!!! I'm going to make an oval one for bread. Thank you for sharing your gifts with we fellow crafters!
Thanks. Wish you success.
❤
I absolutely love it. When I have strips left over I’m going to make them straight away and then do the basket when I get enough. ❤
Wishing you success.

That's so clever. I've seen weaving in the past but your creation has added another dimension to it I think. Thanks.

I loved the the navy blue border hem !❤

I won 3rd place in a local art show using your instructions as an inspiration. Now my granddaughter wants me to make her a woven doll picnic basket. 🧺

2 inches wide and 20 inches long.
Спасибо. Как будто плетение тканевыми полосками очень оригинально ярко красиво.Я себе такую сошью буду носить .
Thanks ❤❤❤.
Fascinating, love it ❤

So attractive. I like weaving. Might make one, although it is a bit labor intensive.

This idea is so good. I will just add some fabric for lid and zip. Boom! My cosmetics bag for travel! Can't wait to make it. Thx for this vid!
Lots of work with this one, but worth it. Lovely design. Thanks for showing how to do this.
Thank you so much.

So much work, and so beautiful when complete
Thanks.
What a great way to use fabric scraps! I have tons! ❤
Thank you so much.
Красота,мастерица умница.
Thank you very much.
Great little basket as a gift or as a thread catcher in your sewing room or…
Very cute. A good way to use up 2-1/2" strips!
Thank you very much.
These are 2" x 20" so if you don't trim your 2 1/2" your ratio will be off. You would need 25" strips and your basket will be bigger.
This is adorable...very talented...
Que trabalho maravilhoso. Parabéns!!

This was fun to watch, Do you not need a liner, couldn't little things find there way through the weaved pieces?
Yes. Thanks.
