The good thing about this buggy is that a lot of option parts from the kit version can be fitted on this. I've always been a fan of Serpent Racing and am really glad to add this to my collection

This is a really nice kit with racing in mind. This rtr is intended for introducing people to racing that are on a budget I believe. It's also great for people that want a performance RC for light bashing like myself. The good thing about this buggy is that a lot of option parts from the kit version can be fitted on this. It also comes in a rear motor version for looser conditions.
This thing is by far the most underrated RC car on the entire market. It's the closest you can get to actually buying an RTR version of a 1/10th scale 2WD race buggy, literally the only difference between it and the kit version is the chassis and a few other odds and ends.

Serpent is a great brand. You can see the quality in the transmitter, graphics sheet and the instructions. You have such a good RC garage. I liked your history of RCs through the years. I used to race 1/10 electric Touring about 20yrs ago the hobby has changed so much, but for the better. This is a really cool buggy. Take care!
Awesome man. Cool to learn something new about you as usual. What cars were you racing with back then? I'm always impressed with racers holding their lines consistently with catlike reflexes. @@GuyslacklusterRcReview Learning the set up was hard but the club I was in was really friendly. I raced touring cars for 3 years in the stock class (27 turn motors). I raced a Tamiya TA03R fully modded. It had trouble keeping up with the Associated and HPI cars but I got 3rd place once or twice. I also raced outdoor stadium trucks, I had a 1999 Associated RC10. Lots of fun! I think this is why I obsess over suspension set-ups and it definitely taught me how to drive an RC 😀 Unfortunately all my old RC race cars, tools, chargers, motors, springs, spares and stuff got stolen years ago. I basically started from scratch when I had my son. Thanks for asking dude. You should race it is so much fun, just find a causal club or stay in a non-modified class. People get really intense with this stuff.

Picked up one of these for $40 bucks with a battery and a charger. I know this is an older car, but wish I could figure out if there is a replacement body that would fit

Amain has $25 off for this RTR through OCT. I'm thinking about getting this buggy. would you still recommend it? Do you have a running vid of this buggy?
I do like it because I am a Serpent fan🙂 There are a few minor cons on mine such as shock oil leak and esc not programmable without a program card. The buggy is very punchy off the line with decent top end but not super fast. I don't race but whipping around is pretty fun. I will try to post a running video in a week or two.

Atm i drive my serpent cobra t and it handles good aswell
Serpent is underrated, just here in germany there are lots of drivers with serpent
Out of europe there arent many drivers that go with serpent
I recorded a little with it on a dirt track. The buggy is not set up for loose dirt so it wasn't performing to it's potential. Hopefully I can get more running footage of it in the future.

Ok. I am just about to buy a 4wd race buggy (used but in perfect condition) and i dont buy the serpent 2wd. Because im not sure if i can race the serpent in my racing class and the 4wd that i can get is a fully built racer with sensored motor
