Perfect Crust Thanksgiving (or Christmas 🎄) Apple Pie

In this special episode in preparation for Thanksgiving I show you how to make a perfect pie crust (and an apple pie) just the way my grandmother taught me.

Recipe:
1 cup Shortening (divided in half)
2 ⅔ cup All Purpose Flour
1 teaspoon Table Salt
Ice Water (just enough to bring dough together)
Watch video for Filling Details
Preheat Oven to 425° f
Bake 40 - 50 minutes
Remove foil from edge during last 15 minutes

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! It was fun (and maybe even inspiring?) to watch you make this pie. My grandad mother was not a baker, but my mom was and learned this so long ago! Thank for the memories! My favorite oat was using the left over tough to make jelly rolls - almost liked them more than the pie!
