When I first got 2d6 Dungeon it was to learn to play ttrpgs period, and it was the absolute best thing for that, of all the many things I tried. I really had no idea how exciting it would turn out to be to keep up with your work since. Very happy to support and extremely excited for the things to come. I'm still playing with ideas for house rules all the time, but the more I've gotten into the game as written, and the more quickly I learn to play it, the less I've felt compelled to consider changing things. Everything really does flow so nicely, and inventive usage ends up being a source of surprising tactical and mechanical depth (It's so cool the way every aspect of every room has clearly been considered in such detail to work with this mechanic, and the favor mechanics. I think that's why people always point out how it never feels like cheating.) Not to mention, everything for legendary is sounding so cool, I can't wait to get at that. I'll have to try to remember to post my Realm map on BGG. Everything you said about the skirmish game idea has me champing at the bit. I'm just starting to branch out into learning more about that kind of gameplay, and the idea of one with your design sensibilities has me 100% on board. I was actually playing around with ideas for implementing the dungeon gird into combat in 2d6, but I still have a lot to learn in that department. Oh, and the board game idea, you're on fire!
Great feedback and thank you for the kind words my friend. I honestly really just enjoy doing what I do and so to hear this is so inspiring for me. There are exciting times ahead! Hold on tight!
I finally got around to playing 2D6 Dungeon on Dec 31. Only had to bend the rules a few times to make the map make sense. (Switched x,y on a corridor to avoid going outside the boundary, cut out a corner of a room so it didn't overlap another room and fudge the location of the stairs down.) I naturally rolled a double 5's then double 6's to make the largest room possible: 11x11. (It was the library.) The first and second to last room was an Abandoned Guard Post. Stephan the Raw was untouched until the 6th room where I faced an Infernal Monk in the Temple. Didn't make a lot of coin, but made enough to upgrade my armor. Also, I earned exactly 100xp to level up to Stephan the Novice. I had fun, a lot more than watching a ball fall in Times Square.
Awesome! Sounds like you had an epic journey. Don't forget if the rooms don't fit that's fine, just leave them short so they do. We also have the Facebook group where people share their maps if you fancy it! Thanks
@@TobyLancaster_DR_Games At the time, I thought 36 space rooms was the minimum for large room. I rolled a 7x7 room, 49 spaces. Cutting out a corner of 4 spaces would still be a large room. By the rules, I would be left with a normal room, or so I though, and I wanted to encounter a large room. Turns out, I would still have a large room, at 5x7 (35 spaces). Opps. Anyway, it was the Fountain Room, so in my story, the pipes feeding the fountain were leaking which explained the 3 Damp Spaces I encountered beforehand (and why the guards abandoned their Posts,) which pulled the whole floor into a cohesive story. I would not use the word "epic" or "grand", but I did have a great adventure. Even if I made errors, for my first time dungeon diving in this world, this adventure convince myself to go all in and order the 2D6 Legendary Dungeon expansion as the 1,036th backer. I ordered: Legendary Travel Pack, 2D6 Dungeon Dice Set, 2D6 Dungeon Crib Sheet Bookmark, 2D6 Dungeon Item Values Lists Bookmark, Blood Ritual Event Card, Frost Infection Event Card, and 2D6 Animal Companions Expansion (I already have the 2D6 Lairs expansion and I am still on the fence about 2D6 Realms.) I noticed you don't have a Fatigue die in the dice set. That's okay, I made my own by ordered a 1x1 Rubic's Cube from Amazon and labeled the sides: Round 1 Shift +0 .... Round 6 Shift +3. I'll try to post this die, my character and my map on Facebook later. I thank you for making this game. (My wallet does not. 😁)
For the 1.0.1 version of 2d6 Realms. Are you going to add a copy containing only the pages with changes? So we can simply print that and add it to our books?
Hello Toby, I'm sorry to highjack your comment section, but we ordered the full package for a birthday recently on your website, and asked for an account creation. We didn't receive the password and the password reset form doesn't seem to work. We tried the contact section, but same result. Could you please reassure us? Thanks again for your work, we can't wait to test your game.
Did you email jo@drgames.co.uk? Send one here and she'll double check (I would also doub le check you spam folder). We have sent all orders out as of Friday though. So if you ordered last week then it is on the way. Thanks for the order by the way! Toby
@@TobyLancaster_DR_Games No, I tried the contact form on the website. Nothing in the spam folder. I'll contact Jo, thank you very much for your answer, and sorry again for this unconventionnal comment usage :)
