I remember seeing the "dwarf" waiter working there whom the restaurant ended up being named after as me(man)-chung(small) means small man in Tibetan. It is still crazy to think that their momos still taste the same as it did 30 years ago and they have a distinct taste and feel that is unlike other momos elsewhere. The consistent taste of their momos is one reason I always make sure to go there when I come back to Kathmandu.
this is an institution for people from Boudha. so many memories. Their buff chili is the best I've ever had. momo is always good and their thukpa is great too

Nepalese have learnt almost all tibetan food frm Tibetans since when mechung was open long time ago but doesn’t seem like staff knows what meat goes best with thukpa families lol
