    De Ligt should have stayed on his feet for the goal but he was very good apart from that. Strange thing to say that he’s the shittest defender in the world.

      Classic Luke reactionary and over the top comment

    As a united fan, I'm happy with the result, especially given the noise prior to the game, but I loved the reaction after the match, bc the we are annoyed at the inconsistency.
    I feel the difference between this game and the city game, we beat city when they were down and weak, I was confident we could get something from that game. This game I had 0 confidence, bc Liverpool is flying and we have been crap, the fact we actually performed and showed character was both great and frustrating, bc this needs to be the standard

    Trent's best position is RB with a high workrate Right sided midfielder covering him.... basically Fede Valverde
    There is a very obvious logic behind Madrid moving for him given how Fede has evolved.
    They are basically replacing Carvajal-Kroos roles with Trent-Fede instead of simple positions
    Trent has some key systemic attributes Kroos had.

    Completely agree. He has been defensively iffy for Liverpool throughout his time there, but it was either difficult to work out if that was by design to free him up going forward, or if he was being found out. His lack of effort defensively this season has shown up and yesterday was the nadir of that

    • @Labtiger69
      @Labtiger69 15 дней назад

      He’s actually been markedly improved defensively this year. First game he’s really been given a run around and almost surely is because he’s a human who has headline after headline about him leaving his boyhood club. This is the first time in his LIFE he’s been embroiled in transfer rumors from Liverpool really. Liverpool fans will only be able to blame themselves for him leaving yet they’ll hate him after he does.

    This was Trent’s literal first questionable game of the season. It totallyyyy wasn’t because of headlines like this BS title that are weighing on the young lads head clearly. Been held to a double standard his entire career at Liverpool maybe it is time for him to go. Liverpool fans will regret the treatment of one of their own. Nobody was making headlines about how he absolutely saved them against Newcastle…it was all about Salah.

      The news of the bid was poorly handled by Liverpool fans and the reaction after this game has been shocking, would not be suprised if he wants to leave this window, bc after everything he has done for Liverpool just to be treated like that is disgusting, for me that is worse than the Zirkzee moment at Old Trafford last week

    De Ligt really wasn't that bad aside from a 'modern' handball decision (it was close to him and his hand was in a perfectly normal position) and he dived in too eagerly for the first goal. He played well other than that.

    Trent being better in a 4-4-2 is an interesting take. Think of David Beckham. If he was playing today in the era of 3-4-3 and 4-3-3, would he have been anywhere near as good? Trent was almost born 20 years too late.

    If Trent is “quite inconsistent” how the hell is he going to get on at Real Madrid? He is a strange player. His body language and gait often give the impression that he’s not bothered. But clearly he is. He’s a brilliant footballer. This season he’s been engaged defensively more than previous seasons (and has credited slot for his coaching many times) but yesterday he looked as if his head was in Spain
