That Aussie accent of yours is spot on! Never heard an American pull one off so expertly.
I wonder if that guy knew that Jack FUCKING White was just making love to his guitar?
Omg, casual appearance by Jack White. No big deal.
If you speak at all you have an accent lol
With no accent, people usually mean their way of speech is very close to the formal speech which tends to be neutral
Exactly.
You nailed the English accent, Amy. Wow.
Do more of these please! It's amazing!
I was born in Washington DC, shipped to Liverpool for a few years, then spent time in Texas, California and Washington state. If an accent were a person, mine would have Multiple Personality Disorder. I love all of Amy's accents but do find her "Standard English" accent very appealing indeed. When I hear that I just feel like it's THE way to speak the language.
I love these videos! It's fun to hear her take on so many different accents :)
Awesome Video Amy!! Thank you so much!
Oh my goodness! You're in Nashville! This is where I live! I love how in tune you are with people!
I love the way Amy moves so fluidly between accents. That's truly a gift! As a Brit, I'm stunned at how authentic her English and Scottish varieties are. A million times better than some of the poor British accents we hear on US TV shows!
More good stuff Amy. Keep 'em coming!
Highly underrated talent..love these vids. its amazing how well you listen and you're right..it helps to have a musical ear.. thanks for posting
If Amy ever walked up and interviewed me I would just start fangirling and hug her a bajillion times...
Imagine you're out there busking and vibing and Jack White casually steps in to play a riff
Jack White just passed by and this girl didn't immediately stop the accent interview to talk to him? Ermargerd!!!
you should do this more !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am going to have to do this type of interviewing here in Atlanta-we are all over the place with accents too. Thank you Amy!
Anybody here love her?
it took me 3 days to figure out the thirdman news and jack white thing, glad she finally got signed
That is great!! :)
A phoneticians dream come true! :D
Great concept for a show! LOVE IT!
You sounded exactly like an aussie journalist, ur accents are so spot on!
everyone has an accent. :) it would be cool to see more of this amy!
"Ah doin't heiv ain aikcent"
hahaha amy. "that's grreet tha' ees!"
I have to confess, as an expat Pom living in New Zealand, that Amy's British and Antipodean accents are uncannily good. In fact perfect. She has learned the art of being "lazy" in her English speech, throwing away unwanted word endings whereas most Americans try too hard and wind up sounding like a cross between the Queen and Mary Poppins. Amy, please have a go at the Maori bro accent as in the NZ drink driving ad "Legend"(on youtube). You will be hilarious.
thank you! i'm always telling people this, that everyone has an accent no matter how general it is
Hahahaha. You are amazing
She is REALLY into accents lol
I'm from around the Ville! :3 I don't really have an accent like everyone else around here X) No one thinks they have an accent, but I tell them they do and they feel the need to argue XD
"I don't think I do, but people tell me that I do so I guess I do" XD
Nice work on the Telecaster.
Clint Eastwood's daughter, Francesca Eastwood, also has a very generic SoCal accent, though. Here in Boston, I once attended a domestic tourist of African American descent in my line of work who I immediately knew was Californian by her accent. I asked if she was indeed from California, and she confirmed that she was.
Southern accent is gorgeous and very obvious lol ;)
I live in southern Virginia, and I never thought I, or the people around me had an accent until I started watching her videos. Now I know what my northern friends are talking about when I go to visit them. haha :)
Megan Mills i know for a fact my area we don't sound Appalachian only the older people 40 and up sound Hillbilly even though my area supposedly sounds like popcorn sutton to everyone in the world
THE SHIRTLESS GUYS!!!!!!!!!
It's funny to see how everyone's trying to guess where you're from, amy!
@ColdCutMolecules Third man is Jack Whites record company
if you are from around nashville then when you have people meetyou im coming next time for sure. bc i live in TN
Yes, generally.
that dude had no idea who just blazed up his guitar.
Amy- you are beautiful and talented. And did I mention beautiful?
1:09 free Jack White replay button

"Aahhrrrm trahhring o figrr ot waaaa pipple think aaahhhh hiv ahhn ahhhrcnt."
"Cause you don't have one?"
"Ahh down't think sow.
haha
@BethGoth15 i'm the other way around! i have a california accent (i don't even know what the changes are though) and i love how londoners talks :)
Neither are the other states really speaking "standard English" (it is called General American, btw). Some accents just happen to be close enough to GA that people mistake their own accent as standard of some sorts, even though rather few people speak it. Mostly politicians, though usually they just sound neutral, and foreigners since it is the school book American English, not a day to day Englis.
JACK WHITE!!!!!!!!!!
I know mike ryan cape breton nova scotia! so cool nova scotia represent
Haha Cape Breton. They really do sound like that. But in Halifax we sound wayyyy different.
Omg the last bit was hilarious, I'm Scottish that woman was rubbish and I love how Amy was so sarcastic in her very good accent
Aww you were in NASHVILLE and I didn`t know :(
woo Nova Scotia!!!
I must admit I am kinda waiting for the Jack White interview
behind the guitar man, I saw one Brazilian flag! It´s my country! :)
Standard American English speakers have an accent too. Everyone has an accent, that's the point of the video.
Hello Amy Walker. I have a challenge for you: Read and performe the poem: The Chaos Of English Pronunciation by Gerard Nolst Trenité. I would love to listen to your accent and pronunciation.
You know her and Jack white did a song together. Google away!
@ReliableInsider Your dad is a very smart man
@VetGurl101
Of course he was there, he lives there and has his record company there.....
@jaybugo Probably all of us. Also, WIN for Jack White!
accents spoken by people from mid-western states are the best.
The Aussie straight away acknowledged that he has an Aussie Kiwi mix accent
He actually had 3 accents, a cultured Australian accent, and a kiwi accent, while throwing in a very Aussie ocker accent in between those two.
i forgot why i even came here bc that guy in the video was playing some sick tunes lmfao
What was the first accent? Sounded New Zealand...
I would like to see Amy Walker on the TV show "True Blood"
@fuzzyslipper7012 She has like dozens of accents. Which one do you want?
lol i was like where was jack and then i realised it was that random dude who played the cute guy's guitar
JACK WHITE!
@jaybugo Sure do
@MrNividium What does "neutral based speakers" mean?
WOOh, cape breton nova scotia
I also have the "California accent".It's so boring.I would love to have an English accent. It always sound like the British are singing when they are talking. It sounds so beautiful to the ear.
No, it was John Anthony Gillis- quite a look-alike! :P
@ahnmin
Actually I know him and he DID KNOW who Jack White was!!!
Bill Belichick is from Nashville and has one
How did you get to my part of the country and not say hi? I do accents as well and would love to say hello... In what ever accent is appropriate. BillRussellVoiceActor on RUclips. #AccentsInTheGrass
"Obviously I've had some vocal training so I sound like I'm from nowhere"
Actually I've been there, Amy; it's about an hour's drive east of Wawa, Ontario.
;)
Take care, Kiddo.
N.
@MrNividium But I think her point is that EVERYONE has an accent. It's all relative. English people, for example, certainly wouldn't think she was from nowhere as she spoke in the beginning. She's obviously North American.
Chillin chillin ch OH HOLY SHIT THATS JACK WHITE
JACK!!?
@jaybugo
Is there anybody here who -doesn't- love her?
Mah dad says there are two kinds a people: people who love Amy . . .
and people who haven't met her yet.
Except for completely mute and silent people, everyone has an accent of some sort or another. (And even people who communicate in sign language exclusively even have an "accent" that is distinctive by region--deaf New Yorkers sign differently than deaf Southerners--so they have a different "accent" in American Sign Language than others.) And of course, even hearing New Yorkers gesticulate differently anyway!
1:08
Veni,
Vidi,
Vinci.
At the beginning she sounds like Siri
One can not butcher when a word is spelled differently across the globe.
2:02 veeerrryyy far right
Epic LOLS when Jack starts playing that Douchebags guitar :D
Lol, Jack just randomly pops up to play the guitar during an accent interview...
Lol I live in australia and everybody on this video has an accent.
What the hell was that Jack White?
How about Jack White's accent? Did ya speak to him?
LOL nowhere with the voiceless labio-velar approximate XDD
I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and, boy, do we have an accent!? But it's so funny, a couple of miles away there's a province called Cordoba where they have a quite different accent, if not truckloads different, and I have family there, and when I was a kid I thought I didn't have an accent, I just spoke Spanish, everyone else had an accent, and they made me realize how wrong I was... But I was like 5, wth these people are dumb...
Does he really say his name is 'Sherman Tank Ned'?
@PushingPies yeah I agree. Except it then embrace it.
I'm from New England, and yes there is totally such a thing as a Californian accent. A prime example of this accent would be the Kardashians. People don't really sound like that outside of southern California.
If I could have ANY accent, I would choose an Australian accent :)
@owlphobia He wasn't aware he had an accent either, ag ag ag!
All Americans have accents, I love the South Carolina old time plantation owner which I think has sadly died out as everyone moves towards the general american version. For me, as a Brit, the standard british accent (RP), sounds the most accent-less, it is crisp and precise, and can be understood by anybody.
What accent does the "South Carolina old time plantation owner" sound like? I'm interested to know because I live in South Carolina.
No R's are pronounced, so far is faah, and very is vehi, but red is red (not ed). A y is inserted into most vowels, so there becomes they-ye, and cat is ca-yet. Think of the old hug intense Walking Dead. Traditional phase is, 'why hello there, so very nice to meet you', which would be 'wai hello the-ye, so vehi nice to meet you'. Hope that makes sense :/
*old guy in the WD
CrysisOwnsHalo Go to Ridgeville SC now that's a southern accent
Luke Jordan yeah its called standard american
