Wow!! As a Scottish person speaking, your Scottish accent is amazing!!! A lot of my friends from my arts university in England say that the Scottish accent is one of the hardest to do, and to do well. Very authentic! :-)
This woman is amazing; how easily and fluidly she switches between accents.
Your range is effortlessly authentic, the way you internalise British accents not only demonstrates an exceptional proficiency, but clearly a great love of the dialect too. That you can do it with such a glow, and and infectious smile really draws us all in. Well done Amy!
It's amazing how your clothes and make-up match the stained-glass door behind you! Great idea! Not only you act but your settings do as well. Artistic!
I cannot concentrate on what she's saying, just admiring her beauty
This is AMAZING!!! Thank you so much, it's exactly what I wanted to see! :) I can't wait to see if you do more!
I made myself laugh really hard when she was talking about the Brooklyn T and I tried it and then said "stalk"
LOL, I love how much fun you have making these vids - especially this one! So infectious!
Without any tutorials or videos I found growing up I could do a range of different accents, it's so easy to do.
Audience?! wha-what are you doing trying to learn different accents? That is mighty precarious of you, Audience! =D
You have a very classy, elegant beauty to you...like a fine wine...love it
i have my headphones on and my family thinks im crazy for saying random things lol
SHE IS SO PRETTY.
She is so beautiful
When she said,"So she said. . . facetiously", in that cute voice, stumbling over "facetious". . .
fucking adorable. Marry me.
Amy, you are incredibly awesome.
Your Irish accent is incredible! Seriously!
Ohh i love her sarcasm!!!
Very nice. Thank you very much!!
Tawk! Love it, and love you!
You're wonderful! You're so much fun!
I love your flexibility to move between accents! You are fabulous. I don't want to nit pick, but a glottal stop is where the vocal folds slam shut the sound. The glottis is the space between the VFs. The epiglottis does not move unless you swallow. Anyway, I love listening to your videos!
I love her
you blow me away with your versatility in accents please be my coach. I would love to have your skills and i would practice if i knew how, years really i have nothing but time....
you must have so much fun doing different accents to strangers!
I ... LOVE .... YOU!
The funny thing about this video is that you feel that you're actually having a lesson. 'Cause you keep saying "that's right" haha :p so cute ;)
I am in love with her teeth!
Amy! one word ... Awesome!! :D
You are awesome!!!
cheers from poland
@klingstuh her confidence is extremely flattering.
That was fun!!
you made me smile:)
YOU ARE SO AWESOME how you imagine us doing it and laughing along, it's AUSOME
yaaay
YOU'RE MY HERO
It's hard to get my mouth and voice to do what I hear you say. Hopefully with more practice it will get easier. You are a great teacher.
Amy you are BEAUTIFUL
beautiful speaking portuguese. I´m brazilian and you spoke very well!
You indeed are beautiful but your talent and personality are infectious :)...amazing.
im so glad i watched this while i am stoned
Glottal stop on the Scottish accent helped a lot. It's my new project haha.
Because I love to play characters I make up. This is super helpul. Especially with my Irish and English accents which deteriorate quickly if I'm not careful
For some reason, whenever I'm around someone with an accent (wether it's British-English, New York City, etc.) I always pick up on it and talk with that said accent without thinking about it. I remember I was in the mall the other day and this girl had a Scottish accent, I started talking in a Socttish accent without even knowing when my friend called me. She was so confused xD.
Amazing
love the new York accent
You look as elegant as your accents. :)
transatlantic! yes!
the irish accent makes me melt
You need to do one specifically on the Russian accents or just the European accents next. Those are my favorites XD
you are funny :) Greetings from Slovakia :)
You are really wonderful. I've watched a lot of your videos, and I really enjoy them. I like your style, personality, and how you explain the linguistics (for me, personally, I learn better that way, the way you do it,...if I understand the mechanics it helps, vs. just sort of being told and trying to copy without "construction/development background" of the words. I wish your vids were longer. I don't know much at all about you. How can I "get more of you" so to speak? I'm in the States.
I'm always picking up accents where ever I go without trying but when I try and force an accent it just sounds ridiculous lol.
Your very talented and a very fine lass
that came out little New York for me
@klingstuh Of course. But what makes her so attractive is her smile.
Oh my god when she started the Aussie accent I totally recognised it! Not something that happens often in accent videos...
Greek accent! I'm Greek and I'd love to hear it!
aha XD i love people trying to do a scottish accent ! , im rather impressed by this but ! best one ive heard in a very long time !
@RightfullyReticent ahaha, I actually just laughed out loud at that - and excellent way to describe it, I solute you!
Aaaagghhhhh Aussie is so hard lol
Takes so much effort
Weren't you on a national morning t.v show doing various voices? Like Good Morning America or something? I love to hear you doing those voices! It is soooo coool!
i
great
Very sensual and charismatic
who else giggled like crazy when they got the accent correct? lol
Do a full course like thorough on the British accent!
God I'm in love...
@selty Yeah. She was good. It was exaggerated but of course that is the purpose because when a person does another accent they do have to exaggerate it for people to understand who its meant to be. I love her work!
I...LOVE...YOU :)
so im australian and even i giggled when i said "i know" "correct?"??? lol
You're incredible, and probably insane. haha
@SweetNoteage She's from Seattle, USA.
@mucalinda She meant to do a New York accent.
the only one i can do properly is song! i need you as my personal accent coach please. :)
You are soooo hawwwwt! Can u do the french kiss demonstration again?
@gleek098 All these videos were done in one day on a live video and she's just posting them on youtube after the fact, in segments.
I was on amazon looking for a book on how to do accents. I couldn't find a single one. I see a gap in the market.
IS IT THE REAL AMY?!?!?
OMG I FOUND IT!
same... wooot
@klingstuh YES :)
my dad does the same thing. it helps them understand you kind of haha.
@amiablewalker "Greece! Yaaaaay!" How random and cute. Also, you're breathtakingly gorgeous, although I do sometimes wonder where the rest of your eyebrows went! ;-) I'm praying we'll see your talents in a feature film sometime soon, if even an indie production.
Nice tip about the Aussie "know"--going from knar --> know. Not sure what area this would be from, but I've also heard a bit of a 'y' sound at the end, almost is if you were saying "knowery", but all at once, without the dipthongs.
I've always liked you but earing you trying to say something in my mother language (portuguese) makes me love you :D Boa noite, btw :)
i could do allof them really well except for 'that and 'i know'
@mucalinda the switch to a New York accent was intentional.
I have them all but I CANNOT get the transatlantic accent. When is that "how to" coming out?
okay? okay.
okay? okay.. ok-ay!
my tongue goes crazy......
Haven't heard your Greek accent, give it a shot :)
I'm American it was VERY difficult to prounounce the Aussie's "O" sound lol
Love your videos, but was curious about something... What is it that you are looking at below the camera when you are filming? It seems as if you are seeing or reading something in real time that you are reacting to. Future ideas for videos: more emphasis on the Irish accent. You do so many well, but your Irish accent is amazing!
@lisowzki one of the "bestest" teeth!
Who else loves the word Glaswegian?
So where are you really from because you're so good I don't know where you're really from anymore!
@markiduval Ha! I guess that would help!
I can do all the others alright but the Australian one I don't think it's as common to hear. I don't think I've heard enough of it to do it. It is a great sounding accent though :] Kinda rugged
I'm Glaswegian and trying to say "It Is" made my brain hurt, I think I'll just talk normally.
This might be a dumb question but do these tactics transfer over from female to male? Or can only girls use this?
Both genders can do this. The only thing gender changes about the voice is pitch.
@nickia1988 sooo beached!
water in french is woo you need a drink irish man, woo point hand towards mouth, french spell it eau, its woo to us say woo:)
Jesus Christ. I struggled with "i know" ... and I'm from Australia LOL.
Haha. I sounded ridiculous doing this.
@KonboobieTrojax I had to watch with the captions because of this comment. They are hilariously wrong! Something about confronting cereal...absolutely what Amy's talking about!
amy's mannersisims reminds me of Ijustine's.
