Kevin maspalomas and melonaeres seems to be my favourite but I did do the beach walk and I told you what I walked by so your viewers don't need to see the sights but thanks for the weeeeee gem
Stayed there at height of covid with family for xmas/new year 2019- how we got there when everyone was on 'lockdown' is another story. There is a bar at the Yumbo called the Skansen think it is euro a pint of tropical in frozen glass. There is also a bakery/chippy with everything home made pretty good. Personally prefer Puerto Rico as its catered more to guests from UK imo. Best steak House in the area you are in is called Papis does a lovely Uruguyuan fillet and Canadian potatoes with mojo it's in Melonares which is kinda the costa adeje of Gran Canaria if you consider PDA/Maspolamas to be PDLA in Tenerife if you get me haha. The crazy cactus down the front is class too for cocktails and beers in the sun. Get a lot of sand on your face though down the front lol.
Hi wee Kev.I.N that's the area that's always busy, there is/was an open air swim pool on the roof of the shops. Other side the the bars continue, even MacD's too. At the end on the sands is the landing spot for the tandem sky divers. A lot of bars on the roadside on Avenue Tirana the main road down the side of Maspolomas apartments/hotels etc. That leads to the 5* Rui Palace Hotel. I hope Linz sees your vid as I recommend the beach bars to her. Lots of fresh fruit juice bars too. Cheers DougT
I have been to maspalomas and PDI but have to say Doug your knowledge and memory is alot better than mine but that saying I was single then and lucky to find by way home 😀 I must of missed this video somehow
@@patrickmoran4171 ✔️ I just have so many memories of PDI because I have been so many times and my brain takes it all in 🥴. I'm glad to say I got the all clear and my pee problems aren't cancerous, or kidney stone caused. Once back gets sorted out I can finally get a holiday in. It's nearly a year since I did my back in and had to do a no show for that Tenerife holiday. Cheers DougT

“Hair braiding, I don’t need that”. Oh you do crack me up Kevin😂 It’s better down there on the front, thank god there’s more than just the Yumbo Centre there. I still don’t think I’d book though, Meloneras looks the place for me. I’m still enjoying seeing all these places though.
It's at the end of those shops that we found the Chinese cafe and bar, towards the left as you're looking at the sea. Had a lovely final day, drinking Jack Daniels. In fact, your final left turn was right by it.
@@hardstyleimages8235 they were lovely. It was the very last bar, we were traveling home after 10 days and had been there a few times so decided to have a final few drinks in there. They greeted us like they knew us and the measures in the Gin and Jack Daniels that we were drinking were very large indeed. We were flying late that night and we slept most of the way back, bliss.
We found it by accident it was a couple of years ago at the height of covid the pool bar at the start of the video was our usual destination after a day on the beach but it was closed so ended finding this great bar seemed to get a few locals in as well I had a few Drambuis in there very good measures 😂
@@hardstyleimages8235 us too. It was roasting, we were staying on the edge of the resort, backing on to Maspalomas golf course so we had a fair walk to get there. We were in the mood for a drink and it was the last bar that we came across. They made us feel so welcome and I will gladly return in the future.
Thanks for giving me some ideas where to visit when we come Kev. We'll be looking for places to watch Wales in the world cup on the Friday and Wales v Australia on the Saturday. Any suggestions?
Hi Kevin, enjoying your videos from Gran Canaria - I had no idea what it was like. The scenery, beaches etc look nice, but I’m not keen on the bars in shopping centres thing….very strange in a holiday resort. I prefer little bars along the sea front 😊
@@barneyrubble8839 …yes those looked nice, I’ve never been to Gran Canaria and just not keen on the shopping centres/bars. I agree Puerto Mogan does look good. Personally My favourite place is Tenerife. It’s just a personal preference!!

Postcards are a blast from the past, I'd buy them to put in my memories book, my mum used to spend hours writing postcards on holiday 😏
