As someone with NO MONEY! I appreciate the optimization of the game in hopes that, with some tweaking of some of my PC parts, i will be able to enjoy this game one day. I also love the way you give the updates on the state of the game, find your videos really funny. Hope you keep up the good work and i am looking forward for the game. And praised you be! For not nerfing the character's proportions as well. 🙏🙏🙏
I never completed the original demo release as I felt this was going to be a game I will enjoy a LOT and didn't want to spoil anything with partial content. I'm really looking forward to this release when it's ready! Cheers!
I probably said this in an earlier video but I was lured in by the shapely protagonist and captured by the game I am looking forward to more of Metro Gravity!
The rollercoaster of seeing this video and going “Devlog 4? Surely I can watch it without a problem” and getting slammed with “gravity bending, controller breaking, Metroidvania, puzzle game”
I'm in love in under a minute. Your design sense is so gratifying, I feel like my brain reworks to consider space differently just looking at it. Whoever asked you to change her proportions needs to check themselves in.
You're a friggin awesome dev, I just started learning some basic programming stuff with the short term (next couple years) goal of being able to get a job working from home doing that, and the long term goal of being able to make games, hope I'm this good one day! I've already got some good ideas and I hope I still remember them by the time I decide I'm good enough to start making my dream games lol
Awesome video! The game is looking super awesome. Really like the idea of the game. The game play looks super fun. I will give the demo a try. The art work looks really kool especially the character model. When you make something dumb to less dumb I would categorize that as optimized :) Really like how you solved some of the problems in the game. Just wishlisted the game and subbed to you. Looking forward to your next devlog. Keep it up! :)
Dude finishing his last class for his masters in applied math here, specializing in optimization to boot. I can assure you that "Dumb" to "Less Dumb" is the most powerful kind of optimization there is. I would take that over literally anything else. In all seriousness, it's actually pretty rare that you can find a perfectly optimal condition in most situations. That's something that undergrad education grossly misleads you about. In the real world, sometimes all you get is marginal improvement and that's literally the best that's possible. If you improve performance, you've improved performance. I'm looking forward to paying you for the full version!
I don't even know how I found this game but god DAYUM it's looking amazing, definitely the best indie (or maybe the most original one for sure) I've seen in a loooong while. Keep up the good work, can't wait to play the demo in the steamfest :)
Doing something smart can often be up to 10x faster (which is miraculously huge, don't be fooled by the following comparison, anything one can get is a godsent) but no longer doing something dumb can commonly get you gains of 100x. Thus there is no need to ever worry about going to Less Dumb :D. if the term 'optimization' still feels off you can also get away with referring to it as "pessimization avoidance".
@@zereimu The logic is that the stick moves the imaginary floating camera behind the character, but then the camera rotates to keep the character in frame. The right stick controls the truck (horizontal movement) and pedestal (vertical movement) of the camera. So you truck left but pan right to keep the main character in frame, truck right but pan left, pedestal up but tilt down, pedestal down but tilt up.
The concept of this game is so cool, but I feel like it needs a lot of work to become a finished product just from the nature of the gravity bending stuff. Good luck, though, I'll definitely be following along!
It seems you taken some inspo from Gravity Rush, in that game the main character usually hovers over the air a bit before changing the gravity. It helps me a lot with the whole motion sickness thing. That might work.
the rings on the enemies reminds me also of PSO2's "just attacks" that are the same rings on your character indicating the critical time to attack next
logging is your friend in shipping builds, you can enable logging in shipping. i would recommend being verbose with logging when not knowing where to start looking.
You might consider something more diegetic for attack indicators. Using something as direct as a closing ring would imply to me as a player that this is the intended way to time against enemy attacks and them being slightly off is something i could see becoming frustrating very quickly if i didn't have the information from this devlog telling me the ring is just for assistance. Obvs that's just me but it might be worth looking at an indication that feels less... omniscient i guess?
i have a question, how long have you been doing game dev?? i have been slowly learning for awhile but god damn theres alot of different programs to keep track off
Looks cool as hell! But dear god dude, that camera movement is low-key -- high-key nauseating. Edit: Glad you addressed it. First impression was not great. I almost stopped watching.
"Some people suggested changing Stephanie's proportions.
No."
lmao based
They want gigachad chinned quarterback shouldered stick women and he said no.
Pyrocynical
Its shaping up nicely. Glad you didnt cave on her body shape lol
"Someone suggested changing proportions - No".
Wishlisted immediately. Thank you.
holy mother of peak
Who ever suggested "changing her proportions" is insane. Love this dev.
Mrko update, we're so up fellas
Also thank god you kept steph the way she was, absolutely goated dev
THE NEW STUFF LOOKS SICK IM SO EXCITED TO PLAY

Lowkey Inspiring… awesome dev log, it’s always cool seeing the work put into making the game
Bro, 7:41 looks absolutely sick; That has to be included in some future trailer for the game
I probably said this in an earlier video but I was lured in by the shapely protagonist and captured by the game I am looking forward to more of Metro Gravity!
the new areas looks so dope
damn, first video I've seen of this, and MAN did you have me instantly hooked from the first sentence
mrkogamedev is so based. love these devlogs!
The rollercoaster of seeing this video and going “Devlog 4? Surely I can watch it without a problem” and getting slammed with “gravity bending, controller breaking, Metroidvania, puzzle game”
Amazing progress, thank you mr ko
PEAK GAME! Can’t wait for the full release ✨😗✨
Man, you actually inspirated me comeback to programming and gamedev. Thank you. Can't wait for the release
your vvlog are so fun to watch
WOW you're really good at this. I hope the development keep doing well

thank you and best of luck homie. Also write ur ideas down!
Oh trust me I have an incredibly disorganized document that I add to every day!
Yeah, that's a wishlist. Thanks for recommending this, RUclips.
Banger game gonna be great
Art is fantastic, especially enemy models
first time here, love the premise of the game, it seems really cool! can't wait to see more!
this looks beautiful. Can't wait to get my hands on it! glad to hear that your passion ignited again and that you're expanding even moreso on it

love what you're doing.
I'm so excited for this game! You are making such an unique idea! (also: First!)

Suggestion: Can we increase her proportions?
Actual Suggestion: I think the metronome is a little distracting.
Yea I agree I'll think of something
@@mrkogamedev Glad to hear! because increasing the proportions is a very important element to the gameplay.
so excited!
Lots of improvements and new goodies... can't wait ;)
Great devlog! However I noticed that there's a subtle lack of meowing into the microphone, can that be fixed in the next one?
i agree entirely
🤨
always enjoyable.

You should also add an option to invert the X-axis! Some people (me) play with both axes inverted.
People like you scare me deeply, but thats also very impressive to me. lol

@@everything-narrative Oh damn thats actually kinda interesting, never looked at it that way. Makes sense from that perspective.
@@zereimu Now we just need the option for a third axis on the right stick so we can dolly zoom ;D
Shout out to all the one man indie devs out there, this sht looks like a headache. And I'm about to join the ship😂
I heard the premise of the game in the first 7 seconds of the video and instantly wishlisted.

1:44 the people don't get that stephanie has two centres of gravity inside, thats why she defy gravity like she do
This is way too hype!
Quality stuff
1:45 lol
Gonna go wishlist Lowkey
you are loco!
Oh, nice, I gotta return to the demo then. I couldn't figure out how to deal with those flying guys.
good shit
i wanna no hit the next boss keep up the great work!
the rings on the enemies reminds me also of PSO2's "just attacks" that are the same rings on your character indicating the critical time to attack next
Where can I find the OST for this game, die before me is an amazing theme i wanna hear.
the ring could be changed to look like puffs for a more "natural" look
I instantly got I-no vibes from guilty gear. Shes got the same look as the character and fights with music
nice

Started working on making games since like 2021 at least, but I've been learning various programs for longer. This is just my first "real" game
@@mrkogamedev thank you for the reply :D congrats homie you have done really well in such a short time :)
when i use the amullete for the second time to like reconduct the beam my game craches just after
is all of the music in the video from the game? if so its HELLA good!
Thank you! Some of it is in the game and some is just some background loops i made.
finally, your game was great but it didnt make sense the game to run so laggy and i looked up the specs and i was like bruh 💀 good job man
is the music in the video from the game?
yes
you should add gravity based attacks similar to gravity rush
Yeah I couldn't find the pocket parry mirror either :P
ok but did you fix textbox smuggling
if it reappears its over
2:30 DESMOS REFERECE!?!
that camera roll makes me feel ill
Idk how is this recomended to me but looks cool, i dont have a pc though, are planning on released on console?
Hopefully I'll get around to that. Might not be on the same day as the PC release though
mrko made another one
who tf inverts the y axis???
change Stephanie's proportions, make them bigger!!! now
Put a link to your steam page.
guh… please don’t make the camera tilt when you rotate around.
I love this game, but im dogshit at anything to do with rythme so i cant even beat the first boss lol
wow nice amd graphics card
Looks cool as hell! But dear god dude, that camera movement is low-key -- high-key nauseating.

1. does the witch need that much cake
2. someone better kiss that witch shes too cute not to have someone in the game kiss her
