Same here. I understand what he’s talking about it. But I’d fail a quiz on it all 😅

Your best question was about recording the horn section. Jay gave us some serious gold on that one. Btw, I listened to High Crime along with this interview. A lot of fun! Jay is my new musical guru. Can't wait for his RUclips channel.

Man.. was just thrilled to hear you try to focus on High Crime with Jay. That is my absolute favorite Jarreau album and one of my top 10 albums ever. Have left it on repeat for months at a time in the car many times. Have always wondered why therebis so little info and why Jay never mentions it (because why wouldn't it be his favorite too?? Ha). Very interesting to recieve the answer here.. he doesn't remember! Ha, man.. how could anyone come up with such a unique programmed album sound and wipe it from the memory banks.. oh well.
My buddy Dave Tough did a youtube with Jay a year or two ago. He asked me beforehand if there was anything i wanted him to ask. Of course, i told him to ask about High Crime. He did and it was almost worth it from an entertainment point of view watching Jay prwtty much disregard the question. Ha. I love Jay and get that the Jatreau album is at the frontnof his mind, but there is so much about it and the others on overload. On a sidenote, would love to watch a whole episode on him talking about recording the Gimme A Break theme, but he probably doesnt remember that either.
Raging Waters really resonated with me. Am not a cover guy, but ended up programming a cover of it on some childrens keyboards that have MIDI capabilities (yamaha pss480, mainly), which i performed live for several years. Was such a blast singing along with it and introducing people at indie rock/dive bars around the country to Jarreau's music in a different way. Glad jay remembered about the Sparklets bottle blowing at least. Ha, it would be worth him undergoing hypnosis/memory retrieval to bring back those High Crime memories!

I would love to hear Jay’s stories and technical info from his sessions with Gino Vannelli. I don’t think I’ve ever heard him talk about Vannelli at all… Wonder if there were issues there. LOL Love Jay’s work with Gino.
