- REMAKE: • TV Station IDs during ...
I've had this on hold for a year, but then I did a complete remake. This shows the logo animations of TV channels across the world.
Absolutely none of the content shown are owned by me, besides the visuals of the 2 custom intros and the outro. They all belong to their respective owners. No monetization is made off this video, and it is only for educational purposes only to present how TV broadcasting companies identified themselves as at the time.

love how every one of asia's station IDs are animated. then we have indonesia's, they're clearly not paid enough
What do you expect? The modernization starts since the second president took office. Whoever owns a colored tv at that time is considered rich.
3D TV station IDs weren't that good due to RAM reasons. The amount was low back then. On average, most had 32 to 64 kB, but some 128 kB.
It's state owned, and everyone in Indonesia knows that if it's state owned don't expect it to be good. Also it was the only station at the time, after private stations started to air, TVRI quickly become the lamest channel available.
TVRI ad revenue were cut off personally by Soeharto (TV ad got banned) back then. Therefore decreased its budget and operating at loss.

27:16 this TV station was televised and operated from 1974-1986. In 1986, the CITY2 Television were shutdown and revived the ABS-CBN Channel 2 after was shutdown for 14 years. Well I really miss those TV Shows in City2.
A great selection - 1983 was certainly a transitional year in a lot of ways...still a lot of analog idents being used (for which I have much affection.)
12:08 This tune is epic!

Why change it when it’s one of the coolest idents ever created
It was used up to 1993.
19:18. that is the best TV News Intro in existence
20:20 it's a Vectrex styled logo with the beeps & neon theme. Fact: i had the same feeling as the UNC-TV 1979 logo.
Really cool to see all of these global logos! Thank you for your work in putting this together.
TheIridiumic138, what you made is a compilation of TV history that is museum-worthy. Good job!

wow i can literally say this is the best video i've seen on youtube all year and one of the best and most interesting I've ever seen in general. I was born a month before able archer and I think the very real possibility that WWIII could have potentially happened shortly after is why I've been fascinated/obsessed with the cold war and especially able archer/operation ryan(KGB operation to purportedly detect warning signs of surprise nuclear attack from US/UK/NATO)for years. that plus my love of 80s tv recordings made this video like catnip mixed with crack for me. it's 3 in the morning and for some odd reason this is my fav type of videos to marathon watch all night. i could watch a 10+npart series of these with longer/more/different clips. liked and subscribed right away. the only thing that kept this from being absolute perfection was that there weren't any clips of stations from my hometown of Detroit! so happy i found this channel. 83/10 for sure, a valuable addition to the tv historical record.
@TheIridiumic138 Ah yes... 1983, the year when the legendary FM synthesizer from Yamaha, the DX7 came blasting up with the power of creating a lot of new sounds which it has changed the music in the world by storm!
Everybody had one in every place when each of them are composing and using this musical beast that it was originated by a gigantic Japanese company which it fabricates motorcycles and produces quite a lot of musical products, especially keyboards and synths!
Every artist, songwriter and composer made the music entirely on a DX7. You probably remember it... it was a huge shout out in the music market worldwide.

City2 or BBC2 was ABS-CBN back then and currently cause ABS-CBN was 1st Shutdown in Sept. 27, 1972 (2nd Shutdown on May 5, 2020) and City2 or BBC2 were shutdown and ABS-CBN was revived in 1986 so "NO" City2 is "NOT" operated by GMA

*EXPRESS EDITION*
Europe NATO appears to be purely public television, since I noticed that PKS (known as Sat 1 since 1985) and RTL Plus (known as RTL since 1992) are missing from Germany, both the first private TV channels in West Germany when launched in 1984.
Much of Europe saw TV as a public service than as a tool of commercialism so most channels had been state-owned in those years.
This doesn't Means than TV in NATO Europe was all- public (Mediaset in Italy was founded in the 70s as TeleMilano 58)
0:49 my favorite logo.
I feel that the US sections should be split between Big Three, PBS Member Stations, and Cable Networks as separate chapters.
For those wondering:
0:40 - "The Big Three" (And News Program Title Graphics)
1:25 - The Public Broadcasting Service (The US's primary independent public broadcaster*), NewsHour, and local Member Station Identities
2:53 - Premium (Subscription-based) Channels/Cable Networks
4:15 - Local commercial OTA Channels (WGN, KTLA, etc). Can include Big Three Affiliates.
* Yes. PBS is technically independent. While many programs and stations are funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (the Government Agency in charge of the Interchange System and funding for new stations and important programs), most of PBS is controlled and programmed by the Member Stations.

actually quite sad because that wasn't the only time they used unoriginal music, that first time being when they used "The Fuzz" (the theme of Jornal Nacional in Brazil) in 1972

I'm 5 and a half minutes in so far. Are these set in random order?
Yeah mostly, the countries where it goes to are in random directions.
NATO (group 1) is the most randomly set.
Warsaw (group 2), I just went to the second superpower (USSR), then jumped to the westernmost country to the southeast.
Group 3 is for countries that are aren't in either alliance (yet sometimes are allied to either), goes from north to south of Latin America, then to the rest of Europe, then to north to southern Africa, then from west Asia to southeast Asia, then finally to Oceania
Good job. However, I have some observations to do:
In 12:09, the city in which TV3 has its headquarters is not Madrid, but Barcelona.
In 17:55, the intro shown of Noticiero 24 Horas stopped to be used not in 1994 but in 1986 (approximately).
You should do more videos like this for other years, but without news intros.
Romania is creepy but catchy.
Sheeeesh over 100,000 views now? Awesome!

I would just like to point out that the opening motto of Czechoslovak Television changed in 1990. But otherwise a great collection!
when was it first used?
@@TheIridiumic138I think before my born (1982). But I remember that in 1990, there was a significant change in the model of television broadcasting. The third television program was added, the first program became a federal circuit (the same was broadcast in the Czech Republic and Slovakia). The second program was transformed into national television channels (one for the Czech Republic and the other for the Slovak Republic, which actually divided Czechoslovak Television into Czech and Slovak Television long before the division of the Czechoslovakia in 1993).
You should have gotten BCTV (no longer exists)in there they had some very epic intros then.
The Catalonian television does not broadcast from Madrid. It comes from Barcelona.
yea i left it out without noticing
28:19 did they borrow this from NBC?
Czechoslovakia, why only intro of broadcasting beginning and no tv news Televizní noviny?
