You are my favourite storm chaser your calm and don't scream MASSIVE VIOLENT TORNADO every 5 to 10 seconds and also you get some of the best still footage (I don't like the ones where the camera is shaking by massive amounts.) Epic job dude as always cant wait to see more!
Half an hour ago I wasn't a fan of the narration and music. It grew on me really quickly though. Great footage you've got! I've been really into tornado footage lately, and I can't stop coming back to these videos. Awesome stuff! Also, I've heard the Xenia, OH tornado of '74 turned the sky green like that. I was wondering what that would look like, but I guess I know now!
Your the best chaser I know, always amazing footage of great twisters and in some videos you explain the phenomenon behind tornadoes/hail/lightning/ etc. keep up the amazing footage man!
You are my favorite storm chaser!! I love your narration, it is so soothing, calm and confident without arrogance!! You by far have the best tornado videos!! Keep up the great work and I look forward to more 🌪 tornado videos!!
It amazes me how light works, filtering through the clouds, debris & other matter, affecting the colors; some green, others grey, while others are dark as the pitch of night. Mother Nature truly is incredible!=)
2 cool facts: Exeter, Friend and Crete were in the path of the 2017 total solar eclipse. Also, Amtrak's long distance California Zephyr runs through these towns too
Breathtaking as always! It is hard to decide which one of your videos I like the most. Thank you once again for taking the time to make them, and sharing them with the rest of us.
I too, love to watch storms. I live near a river, and many pass my way. I cannot afford the gasoline to chase them the way you do, so I live vicariously through your adventures. You are an excellent photographer. You make it look so incredibly easy. All great artists have that knack. How grand it must be, to stand so close to something so magnificent. You have a job to be envied. The music accompanying the videos is enchanting . It is strong, and powerful like the storm itself. You have made excellent choices in this matter. I also enjoy your video's on snakes. Many years ago I was bit by a pit viper (copperhead). I did not get any anti venom, so I went into anaphylactic shock. Oddly enough I have no fear of snakes either. That's it! I like your videos because they are real. Fools who shriek in terror, at some little snake, must surely be made to feel foolish around you. I've never understood why people don't just walk away from a snake, but instead choose to stand there, and scream. Then they run off to tell all their friends, and come back to beat that little snake to death, How incredibly silly! I've seen fully grown men behave this way. Your trailer about the brutal Mexican kind of threw me for a loop, but the actors did an excellent job. I don't know that I could sit through the whole movie, as brutality makes me uncomfortable, yet I know predators are a part of reality, and nature. That period of time was most brutal. You have had me as a subscriber many times before. You have just forgotten. When I opened this account, you were the first channel I subscribed to. Through the travail of ages you have seen me under many guises, many names, but always me. Enough said! Be careful in Nevada young man. I am looking forward to viewing your next adventure.
Nice video! I watched a documentary on the Topeka Kansas tornado, that hit back in the sixties or seventies, I think; and, one of the people, they were interviewing, who had seen it, and survived it, said she never would forget it, because it was almost pea green. Spooky!!! Your video's Rock, my man! Keep up the Fantastic work, and make um longer! After all, we, your fan's, need our Hank Fix!!
As usual! The Eddie Van Halen of storm chasing delivers again! Sweet video Sir! You're one a notch above the rest man! And there's many great chasers out there, -BUT.. Truly, we as chasers and spotters can see how things are done right following this Rock and Roll Rebel, Mr. PECOS HANK! Thanks for all the rides up close and personal, without all the :Ohhhh SH!#, we're gonna die! LOL! J/K A bit there, as ur vids do inspire, and immerse like very few others can! Let alone debris raining down like some freaky bad trip down the rabbit hole! Thanks again man! Peace!
Right on Nicco!!! I'm getting some crazy nasty storms this year and still have another 2 or 3 weeks in the season. Plan on many many more rides. Peace!
Pecos Hank I'm sure you know but Vilonia AR (I live 11 mines from there) got hit 3 years ago by a nasty one, and then another one came through there and Mayflower this year. Keep us up to date on these tornadoes, you wonderfully brave man!
i remember once when i was much much younger during a hot summer day when i was living on long island new york there was a severe developing super-cell system and the skies turned the most ominous eerie green color... extreme microburst-like winds, hail, and rain, a EF1 touched down somewhere a few towns over from me and little did i know of it, riding my bike around trying to catch the best glimpse of the powerful storm system. i'll never forget that feeling seeing those wicked green skies.
I'm usually in the storm shelter before our sirens even go off. I find storms to be absolutely beautiful as long as their not in my area. When their here I find them to be beyond terrifying. I absolutely love your videos and I've probably watched them all by now my favorite is still the el Reno tornado between your amazing filming of it and the sheer size of it I find that video to be just amazing.
This is definitely my favorite "chase" that you've posted so far. Ominously beautiful! I hope to chase storms and capture magnificent scenes like this one day myself. Great work!
Hello Pecos hank, I love your storm chasing videos, I love storm chasing myself and with my dad. I see you chase huge tornadoes and storms. I have chased a radar indicated severe thunderstorm with weak rotation. Well... At least the hail didn't bonk up the vehicle. Haha!
Wow! When i was younger i heard from my parents that you could usually tell a tornado was coming because the clouds would sometimes turn a greenish color. But this is like full on green! Its beautiful! I love your videos!
Oh Wow that was spectacular. I can’t believe the colour of that stormy sky. And I’ve never seen light loop round like that either. Only complaint - clip not long enough! More please
It's hard to see the funnel cloud when the wall cloud is that close to the ground. But a green tornado, wow, I've never seen one before. The greenish-ness makes it look like a twister on an alien planet. Just fantastic.
The thick concentrated rain shaft from these storms is naturally blue and tend to happen in the late afternoon / early evening... Shine some evening sunlight into it... Blue and yellow make green.

A tornado with a sickly green shade similar to this one hit the town of Spring Arbor Michigan back in the early 80s. My family was living in a trailer park at the time and we could see it coming from the rear bedroom window. Luckily for us, it went back up into the clouds and didn't touch down again until it hit the woods on the opposite side of the trailer park.
Honestly, I wouldn't know if that was a tornado if I was just causally driving by. But at least I know I gotta watch out for moving wide looking clouds touching the ground. :P
I know this is almost 10 years old but I didn’t realize hank was around for this event I remember it well though my dad and I were heading home to Lincoln from my grandmas house in Oshkosh Nebraska that day and it seemed like every town we went through after north platte had a tornado touchdown I also remember the lightning that evening one strike in particular made me call in sick to work that night not working 12 hours with no sleep especially driving a forklift no way
My mom and I were on our way home when I was 17 after meeting family halfway to eat lunch for mothers day, and we had to take shelter in a strangers basement, the roof got ripped off of their house, it really messed with me because they don't have sirens in the country, I didn't know there was a tornado. A beam was shaking above our heads, and our ears popped when there was a thwump. The lady said "there goes the roof" and I remember thinking "no way, no way 😅😶 its just really windy." My dream for a long time was to see a tornado with my own eyes.. but I have panic attacks if a storm has strong winds now 😅 its really cool to be able to see the actual tornado that I actually experienced though so thank you 💖 I binge your videos with my boyfriend all the time 😸
HP supercells in the Midwest are still more visible than the supercells we get in Pennsyvania (Which are much rarer and WAY smaller and less organized usually). That's probably problematic.
Great shots. I remember this thing was very frustrating to track by radar and radio chatter way out here on the east coast. The thing looked like it went on forever. Glad all survived.
Yeah man, nasty rainy storm. Kept dropping these dark shadows in the bear cage and there was no way of knowing if you were looking at a tornado or not.
Hey! I love your videos and they are extremely educational towards me and my classmates. This may sound like an ignorant question but, what is the difference between a tornado and a hurricane? I know that a tornado typically lasts less that a day, and hurricanes go one for about a week. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks so much!
Wow that was some cool lightning and the shot where the sky was green at 0:58 to 1:06 in your video, man that was scary! I'll bet there was a lot of hail to make that sky green! Damn nature you scary!
Fantastic footage and commentary mate. Very professional and a breath of fresh air from the rubbish online nowadays. Thanks for the views, very impressed.
Hank, I talked to someone who once told me that the sky can get literally like nighttime when a tornado is about to hit, but then I've seen tornadoes on video where the sky really isn't all that dark, can it get that dark in some instances?
+BigMoney4Eternity The darkest afternoon storm I can recall was on May 24, 2011. You can see how dark it is in that video titled "Darkest day" If a giant storm like that happens in the evening, then yes, it can bring almost nighttime darkness an hour early.
I used to be afraid of lightning that is until I experienced a thunderstorm in fort hood Texas. It's like a war was going off. Plus we heard sirens. Scariest experience I ever ever had. It did not help that a military base was having training exercises near by.
We had 3 of them here in Macon Georgia on mothers day in 2008 I remember at 5am that morning. I was getting ready for work but all of sudden the sky looks darker and I have heard loud roaring Norse the wind was blowing very hard and at that time a had rip up from the ground I spotted the tornado that did it. So we got to a safest place in the house and that was the closest thank god that we were all safe back then.
Pecos Hank You're welcome fella, not a problem. I like your honest, creative, almost poetic and calm and collected style. I can't take the guys who scream, "We have a HUUUUGE tornado right there!!!", every 5 secs, seriously. You on the other hand seem to know that tornadoes are a product of nature, which are, if visible, not something to be inherently horrified of. There are other chasers who seem naturally awestruck, (as I too would be I expect), but, BUT, they seem to just go completely over-the-top with their reactions when really there's no need to. Intelligent chasing, not screaming, not panicking, (when a tornado is still at the very least 1 mile away), and enjoying the moment with a calm, collected head and presenting it in a fashion which shows an admiration of nature rather than a mindless fear of it, (though I'm sure there's NO one who'd NOT have SOME sense of fear), but yours is controlled and rational, theirs seems forced and irrational. Keep up the great work, man and if you see another snake, name it Kris for me. :D Stay safe. Peace, out.
Pecos Hank Epic! :) Thanks! :D Haha, brilliant! :) The red river in,. ? Texas? Oklahoma? North Dakota? I'm subscribed to your channel here, so I'll soon get the videos in my list - many thanks for both the naming a snake after me, (I take it as a compliment, not an insult as some may say), and your continued storm hunting / poetic narrative. Stay safe. :)
Practically in my own backyard. I vividly remember this storm.

I've got a question: What causes this green light?
The thick concentrated rain shaft from these storms is naturally blue and tend to happen in the late afternoon / early evening... Shine some evening sunlight into it... Blue and yellow make green.
What Pecos said, also, big hail concentrations often lend to a green tint
I have seen it before.

How do the color or sky turn green? WHAT CAUSES IT?
Usually just sunlight reflecting off the rain and hail in the storm.
Green sky beneath a vigorous supercell usually indicates hail.
The hail core and high precipitation creates a turquoise, and when combined with yellow evening sunlight it creates a green colour.
You are the best storm chaser ever I’d love to go chasing with you, and love the animals you save you are one awesome human.

You know a storm is bad when the it goes completely dark. Why does moisture turn the clouds black?
We had 3 of them here in Macon Georgia on mothers day in 2008 I remember at 5am that morning. *i n h a l e*
How is it green? :0 it's so pretty!
The deadly storms are always the prettiest!
What an awesome editing job! I mean, the footage is amazing. But pausing the vid slightly at the lightning strikes? Nice touch....:-)
Thanks Barton Seven.
Wow that was awesome, never to expect more and more tornadoes in 2014 already.
Season ain't over yet. I'm heading back out tomorrow for a few more weeks. Waiting on that 1 sweet drill bit. Thanks Joey!
Alright Hank.
Dude,.. you're an ARTIST,. Love your vids. :)
I appreciate the Hell out of that! Thanks Kris! Keep it coming.
Stay safe. Peace, out.
Kris A There's now a copperhead near the red river in named Kris. Lots more storm footage coming for ya.
Stay safe. :)
And that green is so cool I never seen such a sight
"The God-fearing people of Nebraska were preparing to celebrate Mother's Day..."
i love that line.
Green Sky: The Correct conditions for a tornado to spawn and touchdown
Glad there wasn't an EF0 tornado in Lancashire on Mother's Day this year!
