Love your guidance for people who only a hobbyists trying to have something better than Chinese wants to trade for our hard earned money. Thanks and I've read some of the comments and also believe you are my go to teacher . I'm building 9 knives now passed half done. NOT equal to your's but belive I'll enjoy having a knife with a edge. Thanks I'm in your dept.
You need to add like a shop vac system! I did that for my woodworking and man what a difference it made with limiting all the debris and dust went to nil.
I like to wear two pairs of gloves. After getting it all out together, pull off outer pair. Then you have clean gloves for the clamps. Of course, right now, gloves are hard to come by.
Good video, but you left out information that I might need for my build. 1 why use liners, do you need to? 2 What grit of sand paper do you prefer, 3 pin instillation? Great video skills though
Yup, but I wanted to show another way of doing it that doesnt have the wait time. Doing it this way makes it so you only have to wait for epoxy to cure one time instead of twice. I like to do it both ways.
Just don't squeeze all the epoxy out! some even shim a few thousand so some epoxy stays . especially if you surface match to a high tolerance like he did

That’s gotta be the most non-portable “porta-band” ever! Awesome video!
I like how you are breaking down each little step. Awesome 👍
Enjoying the step by step segments - The learning continues!! - Thank you
I'm waiting for an intro that starts: "so we're NOT back out in the shop". Kidding. Really love the channel and your builds!
I think the knife is really coming together, I am looking forward to seeing the next video, great job. Stay safe everybody.
Thank you for the video. I just started knife making as a hobby and this video helped me a lot

Oh, this was with the vac system hooked up lol. The dust is so light that it doesn't even help.
I’d be wearing a respirator. Love your knives !,👍🏻👍🏻🇦🇺

Bartholomew is looking good🤙
Awsome and thank you for all your help
Think I'll stick to wood!

👍
What is the knife sander that you use?
Is there a purpose for the liner, other than to add contrast/style?
It's pretty much just decorative.
That is a lot of dust generated by cutting those scales. Why not put a shop vac hose behind the blade to collect most of that dust.
Good Stuff :)
What knife grinding sander are you using?
This is a KMG 2x72 belt grinder.
sooo much easier to epoxy the liners and scales before doing any handle shaping.

When will you be choosing a name for that knife?
Ill be doing that during the last video of this build.
what size pins are those?
They are 3/16" pins.
