If your pot is cracking, keep the pieces. Smash them up fine, like sand, and knead it into your clay. It will "open up" the clay body and allow it to breathe in the furnace (kiln) if the bottom of the pot is cracking, smooth the clay bottom and compress it carefully..don't let water gather there. Hold the pot to your cheek. Is it cold? It's too wet to put in the furnace, even if it looks dry. Lay it up over the fire to dry more. You did not know your dear friend is a potter! Ask me anything. 💕

Your judgement of using the right amount of fuel to fully fire the clay pot and lid was spot on. Have to say it is enjoyable watching you make things with so few tools available. The serene location on the river is absolutely beautiful to look at. You've chosen a very practical place for catching fresh fish and foraging for edible plants. Glad both you man 👨and Lucky dog 🐕 seem well. It was nice to hear your soothing closing flute piece against the backdrop of a delicate setting sun.
