Thank you so much, validation time starts as clock in your ticket the first time, if possible when the bus or tram is not crowded it is better to clock in every time. But if not it's not a problem, upon inspection they will swipe your ticket and know you have validated it.
You'd be fine to hop on and off bus and trams without re-tapping once you had tap at the beginning to validate your ticket and start the time duration.
If you tap your card as payment then anytime there's an inspection you just need to tell the officer you've paid with your card, and they might ask you to tap the same card to their control device
