Now next thing I will try is to dual boot fedora on my actual Macbook (2019). There is a github project which already includes all the drivers for the T2 chip. You do great videos, thanks again!

Please see if you're using 22.04 and make sure PulseAudio is working correctly, if it is not, fix it for 22.04: sudo apt-get remove --purge pulseaudio&& sudo apt-get install pulseaudio && If you using 22.10 make sure that any package is not broken and pipewire is installed because in 22.10 it is using pipewire audio service instead of using pulseaudio service. Thank You for giving advice for using auto-cpufreq also.

Being a nerd can be lonely, even if you know many other nerds. There are nerds of myriad types and their interests may not overlap. So I came here to share with no one, anyone how fascinated I was to clone my dual boot windows and Linux to an external drive and then boot both of them on my 2009 mac that has Monterey installed thanks to. Some very clever unpaid programmers. If you do this, two tips. Learn how to reinstall Grub in a way that Mac recognizes and back it up in case it gets messed up. Also, never let Windows start a repair. It will certainly wipe out Grub and might even mess up your partition table. Sorry for the typos. My phone won't let me edit. It keps jumping around.

Models with Apple's NVMe controller (MacBookPro13,1, MacBookPro13,2, MacBookPro14,1 and MacBookPro14,2) require disabling the d3cold PCIe power state for the NVMe controller to successfully wake up again: echo 0 > /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000\:01\:00.0/d3cold_allowed. This command must be executed from root, and ideally on startup, since the file is rewritten to '1' on startup. Even then resume is incredible slow and takes up to a minute, probably due to additional bugs.
For the 15" models with additional AMD GPU resume only works when using the internal Intel GPU.

    Hello Ksk Royal.
Thank you for this video very helpfull.
    It worsks on a MacBook7,2 and Ubuntu-22.04.
    BUT
What is the purpose of the new parition EFI?
Today i tried to add another LinuxOS on my MacBook7,2 and I checked my EFI linux...
    BUT
    There is nothing on it...
All datas to grub boot are on EFI for mac...
    there there is 3 folders:
    /boot/efi/EFI/APPLE
    /boot/efi/EFI/ubuntu
    /boot/efi/EFI/BOOT
/boot/efi/EFI/ubuntu/grub.conf is very tiny and I didnt found the way to disable grub restriction for probe.os
    Thank you for your explanations...

I was installing linux mint using a different tutorial and I partitioned the mac HDD as APFS and now Linux cant show APFS volume in boot options, Now I can't boot back into macos. Have any solution for that?
When partitioning you partitioned the drive as MsDos(fat) that's getting identified and showed in boot options in linux , great.
But I can i make linux show APFS volume ?

Linux Mint is Buggy on MACS, try Fedora or Ubuntu.
Note since you are using, 2019 MacBook you may end up facing an issues in regards to keyboard and touch pad.. It may not work during the installation, use USB mouse & keyboard.
Then google or search on GitHub for touchpad and keyboard drivers and install it.

Does not work for Macbook Air Retina 2020 Intel
Because of the T2 chip, no linux kernel I tried supports it, latest I tried is Ubuntu 24 LTS. There's a slim chance something like Debian Unstable build (aka beta) might work. Or so I heard on a reddit thread when trying to get any drivers at all to work.
Thanks for the video though :D
