I always enjoy these videos Rob, even though I probably won't be doing this to any of my F units. The thing about getting older, as you mentioned, is that it only gets worse 😅
You can cut the back of the coupler box off and even get closer coupling, also cal scale makes a brass non working coupler that will alow closer coupling
@@hoscalemodeltrains1221 also in the past I coupled an a-b-b-a using drawbar made from evergreen styrene. This allowed very close coupling. To uncompleted one end of drawbar used a headless screw as a pin
As a curiosity, why blue box over Stewart F units? I’m working on a 4pk of Stewart F3s, Guess we’re keeping the CircusCity and K4 V&O decal lines in business 😅
I address this in episode 1 but I'll tell you (LOL), I'm using BB Athearn F7s because that's what Allen used (probably Varney) and I wanted to honor his passing, it's been 2 years.
@@hoscalemodeltrains1221 thanks fairly new here, haven’t seen that video yet. Also starting some V&O modeling to break up the sea of C&O steam and Chessie diesels I currently have.
The more you talked the more details you needed to add. LOL Nice video. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.

Hi Rob & it's is Randy and i like yours video is Cool & Thanks Rob & Friends Randy
Thanks my friend.
Coupler spacing looked perfect!. Awesome job!. Also working with wife sometimes takes more patience than rearranging couplers.
It will be a scale 3.5 feet vs the prototype 3 feet. good enough for me.
@ not building piano’s right?. When they are together it isn’t noticeably at all.

@@georgiasunbelt thanks my friend.
For future reference, American Limited makes close couple conversation kit, #6100.
Now you comment. 🤣😂🤣
The 7 series coupler has a smaller box but a more difficult spring assembly. Also, installing rear door baffles will help appearances.
Thank you.
