The intro is the compositional foundation for the entire song. It wouldn't be the same without it. It builds tension in the early parts that is artistically released in the outro.

Really the rhythm guitarist is lame. I read an interview he gave where he attempts to sound in depth, talking about how he came up with the album a feast for crows,...He went in depth but he didn't realize that no one buys and will buy his albums. In the same interview he claims to have "no expectations for this album" lol
