@melissalaw6634 I read the scripture in context and yes, it did say that, but keep in mind this was the Old Testament and the people of God were told to do these things because of their commitment to make their bodies a living sacrifice to God but ofc, we know now that the ultimate sacrifice was Jesus, his son sent for us, so there was no need for anymore strict rules and discipline bc of the fact that Jesus was the perfect sacrifice we could never be. It’s like when God told Samson that he should not eat anything unclean in the wilderness and wild honey was considered one of those things, and he ate it, but we obviously are more than allowed to eat honey now for example bc it was more of a cultural/before Christ’s sacrifice commandment if you know what I mean. Now, if you don’t want to get a tattoo and believe that it’s an opening to bad things for you spiritually then I say absolutely good on you for guarding yourself. I don’t have any tattoos or piercings on myself but I don’t think it’s wrong necessarily. Either way though, thank you for making me more aware and for sharing. Agree to disagree 🥰🫶🏻

But keep in mind that whenever the world, in general, says that those things are in the Old Testament and no longer apply today, the Ten Commandments are also there. So would that mean that we should ignore those two? Just think, nowhere does Jesus ever say that we should now ignore Old Testament rules. That always comes from the world.
