People keep complaining that "Berserk never had a real anime adaptation" Berserk 1997 looked great. Absolutely great. Would love to have more of this, in this exact artstyle, of the rest of the story.
The artstyle is goated. Sadly people are braindead now and prefer cgi plastic junk. Some new anime does truly look good tho. But theres something about the 90s anime that captures the dark grittyness better
As great as the '97 anime is, it still had to cut a lot of manga material, especially stuff that's important to later arcs, such as the Bakiraka and Puck. Furthermore, it almost completely skipped the Black Swordsman arc, which heavily changes the lense through which the audience views the Golden Age arc.
Well to be fair he left and only came back to save Griffith's living corpse basically. Probably didnt expect him to turn into one of the most powerful apostles after that.

Dub is so much better. Zodd actually sounds like a beast here. In japanese he just sounds like a guy making goofy animal sounds lol. Even the dialogue is a better translation than the subtitles... but I bet there are hordes of "purests" who will refuse to watch this dubbed for no good reason.
I typically prefer sub. This is perfectly fine with me for dub though. I wouldn't say I am a sub "purist" but when given the option I like to read the translations. I think it gives interesting insight into the structure of the language and I get to hear the pronunciation of the words and I have even picked out a few based on context. I haven't really started to study the language yet but I still like to do it. You also have to admit there is a lot of dub that is garbage right?

Elden ring has apart of the game based on this anime, like the blood lake,the wolfman greatsword users that go berserk looks like guts berserk armor form and you got the thousand swords with 1 greatsword infront of it which looks like thr dragon slayer guts uses later in the story.

I think it has to do with the setting of Berserk. Berserk is heavily based off medieval europe, so voices match better with english. You can tell they got voice actors perfect for the job.
I believe Griffith only risks his life for Guts because he views him as his property. The same way you'd risk your life protecting your car If someone tried taking it from you.

I’m sorry, deception or not, can I really take a chance? “Yeah sorry bro, that whole demon thing has me triple guessing myself and I think it’s best for us both if I scram” Had he done it NOW, he would’ve been fine.
