I don’t have solar but I live in Florida which was recently devastated by Hurricane Ian. One thing I noticed was that no solar panels were were harmed by those terrible winds. Not the panel’s on roof tops, nor any of the panels in the solar farms. I found that very surprising. Certainly I thanked God profusely when I had electric back after 5 days. We’re a very spoiled person.
When I first move to Liberia in 2011, I lived in the only world capital without public electricity… the entire country was run off generators. Over the last 11 years, the infrastructure has improved greatly, but I am strangely thankful for my early days here. It made me a much more patient, flexible and prepared person!
A Solar tracker would definitely help. However, the wet tropics is no friend of technology and complex mechanical systems. I’m glad you like your system! 👍🏼
@@africanhomestead I live in Thailand,800 km from equator! All works fine from 2 years.Just need 1 Esp32+1Gyroscope+4 relay switch(total 25 dollar) and 2 linear actuator.(70 dollar).Program is free on GitHub.I can get 3000 watt 9.30 morning. I have 2 axix tracker, but 1 axix(East-West) would be enought. You should have put panels to 0 degree. All is connected to Home assistant,to monitor inverter, battery and tracker.

Thanks for sharing your experiences with your solar system. It was very useful information.
Thank you, Svein!
mmm...do you ever think to make a solar tracker?
I have 8x470W (half cut) panel and 1 200 A Lifepo4 bateery.All is ok.
