Realizing with the recent news that this MV, in many ways, was probably a farewell to Hatari's previous era with Matthías in it. All the callbacks to the iconic moments weren't just callbacks, they were a farewell to how things were, in more ways than just the old album. Either that or I'm overthinking things, haha. Matthías' contribution to Hatari will be greatly missed, but things can't stay the same forever, I can't wait to see how Einar and Klemens continue on.
😢 I didn’t hear about this. I hope Einar and Klemens continue to make music (and perhaps recruit a new vocalist?). It’s very sad but it seems Matthías is concentrating on fatherhood and stability and I wish him all the happiness 💕.
There can't be Hatari without any one of them. They can't just find another vocalist, as Matthias was not only that. While Einar and Klemens were the Hatari music, Matthias was the Hatari poetry/ideology. All the lyrics and the concept was his. I keep my fingers crossed that Einar and Klemens continue making music, and I'll keep following them, but it will certainly be something entirely different from Hatari.

And man, the nostalgia this video added to the already hauntingly stunning vocals, I have no words. I was gonna say my favourite part was the Klemens dance solo up until I saw them doing the 2019 handshake and now I'm conflicted. Anyway, this is great and I hope we'll also get a new album as soon as possible (but also don't pressure yourselves, we'll wait for as long as is needed)

What I took from this video is how performative you need to become once you “make it”. Masses of people wanting to be liked by you or impress you. People who can repeat your every movement, be it from live performances, more private non music related videos or daily life quirks. But then you still go on that stage and perform and do those things again. It really made me think of Bo Burnham’s “Can’t handle it right now”, and to me it’s a pretty grim music video, albeit very good one!
