That was pretty awesome. I get confused making RUclips videos. I wanted to learn this once, it just wasn't my thing. This goes to show how complicated making songs really is. I knew a few people in the Soundclicks scene, all they did was make beats. Then me with Frootyloops, either you have it or you just don't. I did a lot of set up for Karaoke equipment, helping a friend with his business, from there I was rolling with a garage band, helping them set up at locations, I made ties with people who threw concerts, I worked for ERM Corp, (Event Resource Management) in Seattle my first concert working for them was Kenny Cheney, then Dave Matthews, Rolling Stones... I'll tell you what, ever been in their dressing room after a concert... They were appropriately named. I did set up and tear down, loading trucks, equipment, Security at Metallica... It's in my blood. I appreciate what 8 Graves does. A lot of hard work behind the scenes, and you have great songs to show for it. Maybe one day you will know who I am. You'll have this little story to share.

@@8Graves For about a year I traveled with a small garage band called Bonecandy, you know, like the little puzzle coffin candy's from the '80's. I still have their CD. They were good for a small band with a dream, and a small budget. But they had their differences. That was where my underground CD took off. It was being played in clubs, in Tacoma, Wa, then I heard it was being played in clubs in Guam. One night I was going to help out the band when my car over heated. I blew a freeze plug going to a bar to help them set up. . Dark out, no cars, at a stop light. And I get lit up. Fuck, this isn't going to be good... I was approached by one of the CUTESIEST BLOND FEMALE OFFICERS I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. And she had a cute friend with her.. They pushed my car off the road, next thing, they were patting me down, and I DID NOT MIND AT ALL. I liked it. ..Into the back of the police car... A COURTESY RIDE TO THE GAS STATION... Well.. That could have gone much worse. After all, they call this KIDNAP COUNTY. .
Just saying again: I love your work. Go ahead! I loved seeing the work behind the music.

I came across this the other day and its inspired me to work on something along the lines of this for a project in my sound and music engineering class. Any tips?
Modeling is useful when you're experimenting with engineering. If you have a reference track, it doesn't hurt to A/B it! So if you want to try to make something that sounds like this, don't hesitate to try to duplicate it as a means of understanding how to get a specific sound! Always a good study. :)

Nick is all self taught. He learned by doing, and from watching RUclips tutorials and reading blogs and forums. But he has literally spent his entire adult life honing his skills in this field. It’s crazy to watch him work.
