- Hello Friends! In this video I will be reviewing the new Red Heart All in One Granny Square yarn.
In the video I am using an I 5.5mm crochet hook and the Red Heart All in One Granny Square Yarn in the color Soft White- Pink Punch.
I found this yarn at Joann Crafts, but have heard it can be found at Walmart.
This works great for me. I hate weaving in ends. So I love this yarn.
I'm so glad you enjoy the yarn, I agree that not having to weave in ends is a super benefit to this yarn. I think I just need to figure out the tension I need to use and it will be better for me.
I use 6mm hook for first color and 5 mm for the rest. I start with the 4 in at the start . 3ch at beginning of row(color). 2 ch at corners and 1 ch between groups of 3. Hope this helps someone.

I almost gave myself a brain aneurysm with this yarn. Also it splits quite a bit onme idk about anyone else. Good luck to the brave of heart for tryin it.
Friend, same here. I know you could probably hear the frustration in my voice.
I finally found a hook size that allows me to just use one instead of having to change hook. 4.5mm is what works for me. My hubby got me a Joann gift card so thats the only reason I decided to try this yarn lol. Have a blessed great weekend.@@LittleBittyNoggins
I am currently using this yarn to make a v-stitch blanket. I just couldn't get it right
I gave up and made a poncho.
Great live review. I feel like a lot of us are struggling with the same thing’s especially at the beginning. I’m using a 6.5 mm hook & a 7mm hook quite successfully to get the 6 inch gauge required for the yarn to work out. I’m not using the lable square but my go to way for grannies 😁 I’ve hmade over 30 squares so far. If you feel like checking out my vlog from January 23rd you can see my experience. I actually figured out what hook size to use based on the size of a different 8 inch granny square for a CAL I’m doing this year. Anyway I hope this helps a little. 🧶💜
OMG Thank you so much, it was definitely an exercise in frustration. I also used my tried and true granny square pattern instead of the label pattern, I didn't like how they wanted you to use a chain 3 in the corner instead of the usual chain 2 lol. I really appreciate the tip! I'll definitely check out your vlog!
I watched several RUclips videos from other “yarn folk” and learned from their efforts before I tried my 1st square. I’ve made several of the pattern on the label and I’ve also found 2 other alternate patterns that turned out well. So however I eventually use the squares, I will have these three patterns integrated into it.
I do have to pull stitches & re-do them if I am short on color or have too much left over at the end of a row. I don’t mind because it keeps my attention & I get a feeling of “you did it” when the color arrives perfectly for the row change!
I have another video on here with this yarn and its a granny heart! You should check it out! Thanks for your comment!
@@LittleBittyNoggins Your granny heart is so cute! What a fun way to use this yarn…I will have to plan ahead for next Valentine’s Day & remember your pattern.
Never made one yet! You have given me a lot of good advice!
I started learning how to Crochet 4 days ago and am so happy I came across your channel!! I can't wait to Crochet as fast as you do!!
I am so glad you found me too! Crochet is awesome! If you have any questions please feel free to ask them, I am always happy to answer. ♥️♥️♥️
Pattern calls for a start of 6 chains into beg ch 4 circle. Groups of 3 dc and chain 3 for corners. Also I ignored hook recommendations and went down to a G (4.5mm) so it would work. I was hoping to make toddler sweaters with them but the squares might be too large
I dropped down to an H hook and it works for me. I did have to do a couple of squares to get my grove down with this yarn tho.
You'll get 15 squares. I don't care much for this particular yarn because I can't go bigger with the squares. And this yarn would give me a stroke toying to get everything to line up.
Thanks for the tips. I am struggling with this yarn too.
I couldn't get my tension corrected. But worked up amazingly in the round. The colors were so pretty
It's a very finicky yarn isn't it!
I thought the pattern said to chain 6 on the first round and 3 chains in between groups of 3 dc.
On the label it does, but i figured I would try out my traditional basic granny square pattern instead of the motif they used on the back of the label. I don't think it changed much because no matter how many chains I used I still had differing lengths at the end of the rows. 😂
I haven't been subscribed for very long and I love you and your crafting/crocheting! I am wondering if your yarn hooks are inline hooks, what brand are they and where did you get them? I'm hoping they come as a set and aren't sold separately, but either way will do!!!
Thank you!!
Much love and many blessings!!
The hooks I use are Furls Odyssey hooks, unfortunately they are were discontinued. However Furls does have another set called Streamline Metals I have heard that they slide like the Odysseys do. They are a bit pricey but you will not ever want to crochet with anything else ever. Thank you so much for subscribing and I hope to interact with you during one of my lives!
I dont think I have the patience for this. Just watching you trying to do this is frustratong me. If it were me doing yhis, I deffinately forget the geanny square and try making stocking caps or any other project. I saw this yarn made into a stocking cap ( not granny pattern.)
It turned out beautiful.
Good luck.😊
I am using an 8mm hook and still have too much color left. I really wanted this yarn to work for my project. Kind of heart broken. I wonder how it will look crocheted in a different pattern??
Same my story😂
