I’d like to ask for your help with a very important for me matter. For some reason/s my mobile phone (HTC One M8s) battery (in my understanding) gets ‘frozen’ during night time & when in the morning I try to activate it (without connecting to its charger, it makes some noise & disconnect itself for few times & then after successful login, most of my screen’s icons just disappear & I had to put them back. Also, I’ve noticed that during the night that battery (being turn off) is losing its power by around 7% from 100% to around 93%. Being not an expert in this field, in my view, it looks like its battery is faulty or maybe too old to function like it should & if I’m right I’m going to buy a new battery but I’d like to know if I’m correct with my assumption, so, if possible, pls, respond to my message & share with my your professional opinion, what will be much appreciated.

Wow. Thanks so much for posting this video. It worked beautifully for my HTCD200L when I pressed and held the power button and the volume down button at the same time for about 15 seconds or so. You just made my daughter VERY happy -- and made me look like a hero.
This is the first time I have felt I needed to comment on RUclips. I felt compelled to say THANK YOU to the person who posted this video. I was panicked because my phone would not turn on and didn't really want to pay, 'through the nose' ,for a new one. I followed the steps and "Voilà!" my phone is turned on again. I do need to get a new phone but just found out that if I wait until December, Canada has passed a law that states all cell phones sold from December onward must be sold unlocked. I'm waiting until then. So, to the RUclipsr who posted this video I thank you for sharing what you know, you have just saved me from having to go out and search for a new phone. If you have any advice on which may be a good choice for my next phone please do share. Thank You 🤓

i have a htc desire 816. i received a software update and i downloaded it. it went normally and it installed normally. after that my phone was lagging a bit so i turned it off in order to reboot, but then it didnt startup. i tried each and everything but it still wont start. i had the battery checked and there was no glitch in the battery but it just wont start. please please help. thank you.

I've the same model of HTC as you I think. HTC one m9+... It's still working or was working until a few minutes ago. The power button ain't working now, and it got switched off, I've charged the battery, but I'm not able to switch on as the power button ain't working, I tried the bootloader but again I can't use the power button to select. Is there any other way I can get about this? It'll be of great help as at present I don't have spare phone and neither are the shops available as we are all in quarantine. It'll really helpful if you help me out

Hi, i have an M8 and i can't turn on my phone. When i put it to charge, appear battery and dissappear. When battery dissappear red led it's on and then off. I try with power + v. up but nothing. and power + up and down. Idk, maybe i don't try enough..
My HTC One M9 is stuck on bootloop mode, to start with it was turning on and off onto bootloop screen now its just frozen on the bootloop screen and the vol up or down buttons do not work and the power button scrolls up but doesn't select.. can it be fixed?? or is there a way to recover my data ?? my phone does start without problems (i still have some battery left) but it wont charge, it charged like 50% over night but it didnt show it was charging, idk whats wrong. pls help me, i gotta play pokémon go :o

i just did that, doesnt help sadly. since i doesnt connect to my pc, i guess my micro usb port is broken ... but it did charge over night, which is quite confusing. i will wait until it runs out of battery to try your tips again, thanks for replying so quickly!
+TehFeature try clean ur USB port too. I have video on this on my channel somewhere. You be surprised on how many phones we fixed by simple cleaning.

so ive cleaned it very carefully and there is no dust left. weird thing is: when i had my phone plugged into a charger before i cleaned it, it did infact charge about 8% (in 1 hour), so idk, i cant use your bottun pressing tips since it always launches when i hold down any combination that includes the power button
My htc 10 dies really fast and often, it usually says 6% and then just shuts off, is this normal? Should i buy a new phone.
Mel Hyde 6% is not much... its normal when u charge your phone often but if it disturbs u, you can replace the battery

Replacing a battery on an HTC is a bit of work. very small parts in a very small area. Especially if you dont have dexterity in your fingers and/or you have large fingers.
I have tried all steps. My problem is my phone keeps starting and looping on and off at HTC logo. When I go into bootload by pressing vol up and down and power together. But then when I press recover option in there it begins a silver HTC logo screen and does the loop again on and off. The download option does the same. I have also noticed that I have a lot less options in my bootload screen than before . Any help would be nice!? THANKS

So I left my phone out last night and it ran out of battery while I was asleep, now it won't turn back on and blinks with an orange light.

Already tried that and all the other button combinations and timings. It's been sent off for repair, probably replacement.

Write off the same thing is happening to me I tried all these methods and they still don't work and when I plugged my phone and tried these methods the orange light was blinking too.

any solution if none of these work and when you plug it in to charge it tries to charge, shuts off, then tries to charge again? Like the little battery icon will show up and the orange light will turn on but then all of it will turn off...this started happening after it fell and landed on the charging port end of my phone (not sure if the side matters but I don't know if I've ever dropped it on that side before, must have been what killed it because it shut off the instant it hit the ground)

if your HTC stopped and you can't do anything. PRESS POWER AND VALUEM UP FOR A WHILE it should restart your Phone.

I've done the last step for my phone, and it will say HTC. Then shows a battery symbol that it needs to be charged. (I had the phone plugged in while trying to reboot it) I had left the phone on the charger for a few hours. Tried to turn it on several times & it just keeps doing the same thing. Seems like it doesn't want to take a charge.
But Guys my power button is broked...is there another way to start the phone??

This used to work for me but now doesn't anymore. Problem is, my phone started overheating, turning itself off automatically with an error message telling me to hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn it back on. Exact same thing happened to me. Last night, the charging jack started burning up, after i replaced it, and dven if it used to charge (not at all anymore unfortunately!) , it would only charge up to 3-5 %, then fuly go off, and would even charge, then when i turn it on, all the battery is drained out and isnt even at 1%, then put tha stupid thing back onto the chatger, only to find out its at 0%. Worst phone, worst company. Sucks.

Hey, I just replaced the Charging port and my phone doesn't wanna charge and the battery is dead now since it's been 3 weeks without charging it. Any recommendations? I got a brand new charger Just in case and Still doesn't charge, but when I press the POwer Bottom the led light blinks.
ok so, my problem is that my htc one m8 will turn on to the part where it shows the white htc loading page, i am able to access the boot loader page where you can hard reset, then i click hard reset then it goes black, vibrates once and back to thw white page then just repeats.

My power button is broken but step 3 got it into HTC download mode. I can select the reboot option with the volume buttons but I cant select anything because the power button is what does that. So its just stuck in download mode. Any advice?

so what do I when I try to boot in safe mode or anything really the phone will instantly discharge. it seems impossible to stay on long enough to fix and yes it's plugged into wall.

This totally worked for me. Thank you so much. I was freaking out. This phone was messing up and not keeping the charge very long. I ordered a new HTC 10 from a store at e-bay but it won't arrive until the first week in July. I was just hoping this phone would last until then. But yesterday it wouldn't even turn on. I bet if I put a new battery in it it will work like brand new but I'd rather have the new phone. Thanks for the help.

I managed to get my HTC M9 to charge again.
Issue: HTC M9 not charging when turned ON, but ok when turned OFF and back ON while being connected to power source.
Workaround: Go to settings/ developer options/ select USB configuration and then change settings several times and finally select 'charge this device'.
I did not test USB connection to PC but it should work when selecting media transfer protocol MTP.
Please share so people will learn about this potential solution. I did not read about it anywhere on the internet.
does this work with the htc Cingular 8125? If not can someone please point me to the right direction?

Is my HTC 10 already on its way out? The RUclips app suffers from screen clipping issues where when you go full screen and back, then hit the back arrow it gray screens at the bottom instead of minimizing the window. The red bar also clips into the comment section. Really hope its not about to die on me because I got it to replace an LG G4 that had a motherboard failure.

Hi, didn´t work I´m afraid (Desire S). New and old battery charges up to ~ 2.3 V - using separate charger, not at all when charging through phone. Seems totally dead...?
