  • I wanted to make an instrument using a tin biscuit box. So I made this DIY guitar.
    Tools and materials:
    Guitar tuning pegs: amzn.to/2zYxiJ3
    Jigsaw: amzn.to/2pP39WZ
    Hum bucker pickup: amzn.to/2C2rShG
    Rotary tool: amzn.to/2IKdUSS
    Spoke shave: amzn.to/2E74p1w
    Miter box: amzn.to/2pIkscc
    Fret wire: amzn.to/2y9E0L4
    Bone for bridge: amzn.to/2pIsSjN
    Electric guitar strings: amzn.to/2C5hNRe
I would like to give special thanks to:
The Stewart McDonald website for the fret calculator
    www.stewmac.com/FretCalculator
Seymour Duncan's web site for the wiring diagram

Excellent video (including the background music). I think the best part of the build was the fact that this wasn't made in a fully equipped-no-expense-spared professional work shop. Very nice use of basic hand tools and low budget power tools! This makes even a guy like me feel that I could do the same. Bravo!

    An actual freaking banjo!
I saw and talked to Scott Ainslie last Friday, and have become obsessed with 'cigar box.'
I've seen a bass made from a stainless washer drum, Scott's is a cigar box and a recycled pool cue, a 'National Steel' from a cookie tin, and a wonderful thing made from stainless cookware but you've actually made a freaking banjo.

It's really nice to see someone making such a fine instrument with such basic tools !! 😲😁👍 I mean most RUclips videos out there the people making things usually seem to have the very best of tools which costs an arm and a leg and you end up drooling over the equipment used, but then never ever copying the thing that the RUclipsr is making because you know that you could never afford the tools in the first place 😲😲 but after watching this video I'm going to set up my own little guitar shop right now 😁😁😁👍
Thank you for the great video and the motivation, I have just clicked the like button and subscribed too 👍
