I realized in rewatching this that my segment discussing active electronics might be confusing. To clarify: this is a 100% PASSIVE bass, and that is what I want. It doesn't give you the same amount of tone-shaping capabilities as a 3-band EQ, but the MFD pickup in this thing is like 3 pickups in one and it is very high-output for a passive instrument.
Yeah, I'm pretty pleased with how they look. It just bugs me a bit that they sit about 1/8" higher off the body than I'd like. The pots might have nuts on the underside that let you adjust how much of the stem is sticking out; I haven't investigated.
Enjoyed this with coffee this morn. Got my eye on the Kiloton to add to my bass quiver someday. Maybe a fretless. Enjoyed all your detail. I own a G&L CLF Research L-1000 and Tribute JB-2. Really like them both a lot.
I pretty much have the same story. Waited 9 or so months to get mine in early January. Worth the wait, for sure. Love the quality and the playability. I restringed it with the same strings. Get out of my head. Lol
Anyone who cares about a fretless bass having fret lines needs to get over themselves. Is the goal of music to making playing as challenging as possible? Or is it to make cool sounds and express yourself? I think most people would say the latter. Fret lines don't inhibit that at all.

@4:45, yes. Yes I do, but it's a box with picks, hex keys, and various other tidbits. Those knobs look fantastic over stock.

This just made me want a regular Kiloton
I haven't played a fretted Kiloton but if I didn't already have too many basses I think I'd want one!
@@room34 Just seems like exactly what I've been looking for. Kind of a mix of a precision and a stingray.
I saw that come in stock and then disappear quickly. I was so bummed! It hasn’t come back in stock since then!
Brother, you should honestly check out the Sire Marcus Miller 4 string active precision. $400 and it is brilliant
Check out my other recent videos.
@@room34 Ah! Ok. So you've tried them. I have that model but fretless. Cool channel
Isn't the black sunburst on the back a defective product? Why don't you make a claim for this part?
Why bother with that?

Yeah, I know Tony Franklin loves those on his fretless and he gets a great sound, but I really prefer flats.

I'm sorry but your touch is soulless...
Everything is too brainy n rational
Thank you for your constructive criticism.
