Wow I have the Same Carbon Lead Batteries from Leoch as Ben..... Way to Go. Really Happy with them and my Victron setup. Always never know bespoke design for energy package until you start using it. I got 2 x 150aH Leoch's in parallel. The real test will be after a year of use I guess. Luton really advancing nicely.
Great video but one big question in a likes concerned about. Had the sparky used twin and Earth cable for the 240 wiring. If he has its a big NO NO. had to be flex 3 core. Just to clarify I’m an NCC AWS engineer. Leisure vehicle regulations
@@HughTube for that very reason is not flexible. As you are probably aware when twin and earth is stripped back to bare wire is brittle. With movement you’ll end up having numerous problems. Mainly arcing which can lead to 🔥. Looking forward to more videos. Your diy nomad😉😉
DIY nomad here 😂 I need a small leisure battery to fit in my transit connect to power a diesel heater and maybe a few lights. Could you recommend one ? Huge thanks 👍👍
I would say you need at least a 110ah, something like this would be good: www.alpha-batteries.co.uk/12v-xtreme-110ah-agm-leisure-battery-xr1750/ I would also say that if you have set up the van to charge the leisure battery off the alternator (using a dc to dc charger) then whenever you can start the diesel heater with the engine running to help with the initial (first few minutes) larger power drain that would help greatly with maximising battery life
The easysolar was around £1250 when bought and if i got the mppt and multiplus as single units they would come in just under £1000 but I would also need to get the trip fuses and connect it together with appropriate cable etc. I would say buying individually you could save about £100
@@HughTube I think I will go for the all in one, so much neater and probably cheaper if you factor time into it, can the modules be replaced separately if they go faulty? This would be the decider for me.
Nice cupboard design Ben, your van is looking fab.
Tidy van Ben looks neat 🙏💯🍻
nice one fella
Brilliant video. And love the cabinet making. Proper skills.

Feels like a life time since we seen the luton. Been looking forward to this one
Sorry yeah more regular luton content on the horizon!

Hi Rob, yes can confirm it was flexible 3 core. Can I ask why no twin and earth though? Very curious

Thanks for another brilliant vid man.

@@HughTube stop using agm
Crap
Only 50% dod 🙃
Lithium ion 100% dod 😁
Nice work guys; please can we have a link for the batteries?

I know you always like to make your own cabinets/storage space. How you seen this guy 'GVM-Corner'? Not many videos but think you could use these.
Cheers Stephen, I love the camping box! will have to watch a few more
What's the reccomended dod on the carbon lead batteries?
I mean the fewer deep discharges the better but I think I remember the electrician saying possible to go to 70%. Could be wrong
Can u get electric powered battery motorhome?
How does the price compare buying the separate Victron modules to the all in one solution in your van?
