People weren’t kidding about the inclusion of Bad Apple. A surprising yet elegant addition to this. This entire song screams drama, death, and Halloween! I love it ^^
Fun Fact: This song's real name is "Final Savage Sister Flandre S" or "Last Brutal Sister Flandre S" depending on the translation. Death Waltz was a joke piano piece based on U.N. Owen Was Her. Somebody made an impossible remix of FSSFS, and named it after Death Waltz. And so the incorrectly named remixes and covers blossomed forth. Cool music though. I rate 10/10.
i had also looked into this and your comment raised some inconsistencies with my own research so went back and looked deeper. At this point my current understanding is: Flandre actually has TWO themes one of which is called "U.N. Owen Was Her" from EoSD and the other is "who cares" from FDF. as for the other names it appears that the real Death waltz is an unrelated piano composition and what everyone thinks is death waltz is actually just a poorly named piano version of "Last Brutal Sister Flandre S" which is itself a remix of U.N. Owen Was Her. feel free to correct me as part or all this may be wrong.
Also Im pretty sure the OG Death Waltz has nothing to do with Touhou at all, it was made by a composer as an impossible piano piece or something like that. I think what happened was someone mistakenly labled an impossible remix of U.N. Owen Was Her as Death Waltz leading the two to become conflated.
Final Savage Sister Flandre S is an arrangement of the original song, the original from the video game (touhou 6 - EoSD) is "U.N. Owen was Her?" And FDF is a fangame.

A thunderous sound escapes the winds grasp from the courtyard. Eliza and I race through the palace, desperate to find the Prince. When we arrive, we see the ground has split open and there is the Prince, splayed on the floor, unconscious, just a few metres away from the gorge. Red light and fire erupt forth from the gaping crevice. Everything begins to shake uncontrollably and I fall to my knees. I see Eliza still upright, rocking in time with the tremors. Damn Eliza and her steady sea-legs. From the gorge comes a woman draped in black and red, with wings of sparse multicoloured feathers. She has claws for hands and blood dripping from her mouth; whether it's hers or not, I cannot tell. She floats in the air for a second and then drops to the ground, her feet weightlessly tapping the cobblestones of the courtyard. I raise myself to my feet and draw swords. Eliza does the same. Our only objective is to protect the Prince, and it seems like the mysterious woman knows this. She takes a moment to compose herself and then dashes towards the unconscious Prince. Eliza throws one of her swords like a spear and scrapes the demon's cheek. "The next one is going in your eye if you so much as TOUCH him." She turns and finally addresses our presence. "My my my, but where are your MANNERS, dear?" she smiles with sadistic pleasure as she examines the wound with her hand. Miraculously, the gash on her left cheek disappears, fully healed. Not even a scar remains. We gasp in awe as the demon flexes her knuckles and moves to a sparring stance. It seems imbalanced and too light for someone who can pack a punch, so I relax. She must be a lesser demon. From her left eye emerges a rod of what I can only describe being her mana, red and black and evil. She pulls it from her socket and inspects it. With a quiet 'Click', a blade emerges from the top part of the rod, revealing a scythe. Eliza and I move to our fighting stances, something we must have had engraved into our memories from the countless hours of training. The demon only smiles. What is she thinking? Suddenly, she jumps and is gone. I feel the wind rush behind the nape of my neck and my mind freezes. She swings her scythe. My body reacts on its own, muscle memory the only thing in between me and a fissure athwart my waist. I swing around in time to block her with my sword. Metal clashes with metal and sparks fall onto the floor, dying moments after. Eliza is next to me in seconds and attacks whilst I hold the demons scythe in place. She quickly relinquishes it and jumps back to dodge the incoming blade. I instinctively run towards the demon to help Eliza, but I have to save the Prince first. Eliza nods in agreement and attempts to stall for as long as she can. The demon throws her scythe into the air and it splits in two, becoming a pair of hooked daggers. As the demon and Eliza clash, I run to the Prince and check for signs of life. He looks fine. In his arms is a book facing down. The title says 'Grimoire of the Black Cloud'. I gasp in horror. Had the Prince summoned the demon on PURPOSE? There's no time to contemplate how things came to be, I have to bring the Prince to a safe place while I take care of whatever he's summoned. I look back at Eliza. She seems to be holding up, for now. The Prince coughs erratically and spasms back to life. He blinks his eyes into concentration and looks up at me. "Where... Where am I?" "You summoned a demon in the castle courtyard and now you need to go somewhere safe," I say shortly, picking the Prince up in my arms. Thank the gods that he's light. "Let's go." "Wait," the Prince says. I ignore him and run towards a sheltered corridor. The Prince struggles in my arms and escapes my grasp, tumbling to the ground and standing promptly afterwards. "Wait! I know how to stop that thing." "How?" "With this," he says, opening the spellbook and revealing a page that looks unlike the rest. It has a more yellowed tinge to the paper, whilst the rest of the pages look white and fresh. "What do you need, Sire?" "Time," he responds. "Buy me some time." I nod and return to the fighting. Eliza has tired fast. Her movements look sluggish and lag behind the demon's, who looks as if she's only just started. She swings her scythe multiple times at Eliza, who is barely able to parry each time with simple blocks and feeble slashes in response. The demon jumps over her and attacks from above. Eliza blocks with her sword using both arms, her body aching from the force of the creature. What WAS she? The demon's grin only widens. She turns into a veil of smoke whilst a duplicate reappears behind Eliza who continues to fight against the woman that hangs in the air above her. I gasp. "Eliza! Run!" She turns toward me and realises too late. The second demon's hand digs into her back. For a moment, everything freezes. Then Eliza starts to choke. She coughs and gags as blood spews from her mouth. First in rivulets, and then in hearty streams. She slumps to the ground with a light 'Thud' and doesn't move. I scream. It's the only thing that I can do. I scream and scream until my head is about to explode. The demon in the air dissipates into nothing, leaving the demon on the ground with Eliza, who lays still. Hope you enjoyed!
