My fathers side of the family still has a farm in the area of Pikes Peak. Grew up listening to stories from my Father, Grandfather, and Uncles, watching the racing every year. My Father, now 92 yrs young, can still remember in great detail, races he watched, even before WW2. I was bound to catch the fever. Love cars, and Porsches especially. Thank you for sharing. Great video.
Someone should interview your father and let those stories be told

Thank you for your response. Great idea. My Sister and I have written about some of his military life, but like most WW2 vets, he is reluctant. However, his racing stories he will talk about. He actually grew up with the Unser and Yarbourgho family's. I will see what else I can get recorded. I will keep in touch. Thanks again.

A Porsche Cup Class on *THAT* Mountain... That's so nuts! But also brilliant :-) Hill Climbs are somewhat living Motorsport History, as it was one of the early Race Formats for those new Petrol Motorcars. And now Hill Climbs are again on the Forefront of Racing, because they are being electrified. One of the first forms of Racing, where Electric Cars and Bikes can show their real potential. Not that PR Crap of Formula E. Will be interesting to see, what the Taycan can make on the Hill of Hills.
You know what, Porsche? I think you really should need to take a run on your 919 Hybrid Evo on Pikes Peak. What a drive it is going to be. Even more beautiful, than it was on VW ID R
