This worked flawlessly! My throttles were bouncing like crazy. Took about an hour, you'll need a magnetic tip screwdriver and a long thin pair of needle nose pliers or tweezers with some good lighting. I cleaned the potentiometer surface along with the metal surface with alcohol and q tips. Thank you for the video. Works like brand new again!

Bought a used Flight Yoke System and I immediately noticed the bounce and drift issue with the TQ. It was a good thing I came upon this video because I was able to fix it up in about an hour with the right tools in hand. MASSIVE props to you for this video, it works perfectly on my used TQ.
TIP! After cleaning the part, I tried it out but it was ghosting much more than before I started (which resulted in a HUGE heart attack for me haha.) But then I noticed that the contact points were almost flat. So, be sure to check if the contact points are elevated enough to actually register inputs made on the levers. A slight prod of my tweezers seemed to do the trick. Just carefully raise it a bit.
    THANK YOU!!!

I did the same haha, bought a secondhand unit and fixed it. Good yokes are quite steep! Cheers

The most amazing thing about this video is how strongly your lever caps were stuck to the levers. I had to tape mine on. But good tutorial, thanks.

Great video! Wasn't able to disassemble as I don't have the right screwdriver, so I gave the quadrant a spray-and-pray blast of compressed air and contact cleaner while working the levers back and forth...seems to have worked at least temporarily. Maybe something for folks to try first.

Gosh, I honestly tried, but the more I cleaned the potentiometers and put them together with levers' mountings, the more every wire kept getting away unsoldered. I tried to solder 'em all, one by one (I am terrible at soldering, I have no capacity in that field), there were 18 ends of them ultimately, but then I got terribly frustrated, so I crashed and destroyed the whole thing and threw it away! A good reason to buy Honeycomb Alpha AND Bravo, I guess… 😅
My Throttle Quadrant was so old, I think I bought it in late 2000's or perhaps in early 2010's, so it is not unreasonable to think that it was not as good as what it is today. I don't really know. Now it does not really matter anymore. 🤷🏼‍♂
Thank you for the interesting video, anyway. 😁

Guys I ended up completely breaking my throttle quadrant while attempting to disassemble it. Indeed, the cleaning up the potentiometers is fairly simple, but some long overdried compound broke apart on the mainboard while I was uscrewing it, and one of the cables connecting the USB chord to the board snapped off. I tried soldering it back in but ended up causing a short-circuit and Windows detected dangerous voltage spikes when I tried plugging it back in. Sadly, I will be getting something else since I had been using mine for 2 weeks only. It came sealed in the box, but I suspect these units were produced years ago and the components inside are already worn out even before opening the box nowadays. I found dried glue, molten plastic and some kind of oil everywhere inside.

Oh Richard, very sorry to hear! This is a low-end cheap product… good yokes are very expensive, so a lot of care is needed not to brake anything. However, it seems your unit was at the end of its life. Hot glue and grease badly applied is normal in this units… as said, they are cheap bad quality items at the end…

I just clean mine! Thanks for the video! Putting it back was a bit tricky. I would say to put back back first the red and blue axis. Then place the black cable on the side of the blue and then the black axis. Then board and the two pieces behind the axis. Next time I will get a magnetized screwdriver to make it easier to screw back everything. ah! also you may have to bend a bit the led!

Hello. I installed the Logitech 64bit Driver Software for this Throttle, but now the Windows 10 Calibration Tool in the Game Control Manager is gone. There is only Test and Dead Zones, no Calibration anymore. I uninstalled the Software and the Throttle etc. and tried everything, but with no success. How can i get this back?

  • @adambalogh4906

I made it, bouncing gone, but could not assemble it. Whenever I tried I had to use force to push the throttle trough the case and then cable began to break. The more I tried to fix and re-assemble the more broke. I ended up burning it completely.

I have the same problem but with the joystick, it is shaking for all axes, it doesn't directly interfere with the flight, but the joystick in the simulator is shaking as well as the control surfaces. I opened it to check if the potentiometer would be the same as the acceleration quadrant, but it's different and I'm afraid of damaging it, would you know how to correct this problem?

Hi, please check the minute 2:11, it is the most critical. it happened to me as well the first time i cleaned it and mounted it back, it was worse than before lol. Make sure the contact point of the potentiometer is properly placed, maybe it is 180º off. Good luck!

@@BarcelonaAustinA35 I did make sure they were the right way. I also did it backwards the first time. When I tested it the controls were all over the place. After putting them the right way around it was about as good as it was before I started. It works but it's just giggly like before. Maybe a tiny bit better but overall not much improvement.
Is there maybe a better cleaner I could use ( I used 91% isopropyl) ? Or maybe I just didn't scrub hard enough but I didn't want to damage it. I thought I gave it a thorough scrub but who knows?

    • @BarcelonaAustinA35
      @BarcelonaAustinA35  3 года назад +1

Hm. Well, these potentiometers are really crappy, dont expect much from them. You can try cleaning a bit more thoroughly, or replace the potentiometers. Could also be related to the controller board, the original one is 10 bit and not great. A leobodnar board is a good option. I have a video on that. Might help, although looks more related to the potentiometer. Regards
