This is such a beautiful representation of when you ask God for something. Sometimes God doesn't want to give it to you, not because he can't but because either it's too early or he knows you'll abuse. But you still get that prayer answered thinking it's God but it's the Devil answering it so you can meet your downfall. It's a curse in disguise as a miracle.

This reminds me of a story my mother always told me. There was a fisherman who could never catch any fish. His family always had to survive off scraps that his wife earned as a maid in the castle. His family would ask him every day when he came back home if he could catch anything from the river.. and he would have to sorrowfully tell them that he couldn't. He prayed and prayed and prayed. For 3 long months he prayed, and nothing. Finally he got angry and looked up to the sky and told God "if I don't catch a fish today, it proves you don't care about my family." Lo and behold, he caught a fish. He went home cheerily, and offered it up so that his wife could cook it. The family ate fish for what felt like the first time in years, happily chomping down every last piece. Come next morning, his youngest son suddenly felt extremely unwell and died not long after. The fisherman was inconsolable, so he tried to find the reason. He noticed that the fish had been poisonous, because the river was unfit. He then regretted pushing God to give him what was not best for him, and wished he had simply moved to the next river. Unfortunately, by then it was too late.
