It probably needs more oil - you need to unscrew the large cylinder and add oil inside it.
These style devices do not eject the waste - they will fall through if you tip it back, or fall out the front if you tip it forward.
The versions that suck the waste into the collection cup have a continuous bleed of air to generate the suction.
It needs to be primed with hydraulic oil to work properly. Yup upside down open the bottoms pull the air cylinder out and fill the bottom narrow portion to the top with oil then put the cylinder back in and the cap
Its air over hydraulic, open bottom add fill small hole
I think that I will give a shot to the Milwaukee M12 riveter.
Got one. Fantastic, but can't handle ¼" rivets.
Kept me riveted the whole time.
That will come in handy with the Seven. I bought a similar one 2 years ago from Princess Auto to put some BIG rivets in my Vitesse bumpers. I will never go back to a manual riveter. Mine never "shot out" the rivet pointy bit, I always had to pick out the bits.
I'm starting to think it's just a sort of dust guard for where the air exits out the back, and maybe just in case a bit of metal gets in there.
I've got a similar one in the UK and mine doesn't shoot out the back either. They usually fall out the back if I tilt the gun so it doesn't really slow me down. However mine only usually takes 1 pump of the trigger to pop the rivet. Are the bodies of your rivets too long for the thickness of material? When you have a hundred plus rivets to insert they are a godsend.
If you are planning to panel a lot I would recommend getting hold of some Cleco's (temporary rivets). So helpful to hold the panel in place while test fitting and drilling all the holes, and when doing the final fitting.

It looks like the rivets are too long for your total material thickness. I'd suspect that's why it's taking multiple pulls and not fullly breaking off. Keep up the good work 👍
The rivets are to long for the material you are using. I think the formula is the rivet needs to be 1.5 and the thickness of the material. The mandrels don't shoot out the back they just fall into the cup when you tip the gun back.
5:47 .. You are NEVER supposed to cycle a rivet gum empty!! .. great way to break it! :(
