As much as I found Betterman interesting. It really does feel like the dialog was bashed together from biology textbooks and new-age spiritualism at times.
It deconstructs the notions of better and best in terms of evolution. What makes someone better is largely dependent on the context. Bestman is considered the best because his body of cancer cells can reproduce endlessly, making him effectively immortal to injury and aging. But he is not a perfect life form, just really good at not dying by conventional means. Betterman becomes better than Bestman by reprogramming every cell to in Kankel to selfdestruct.
It is. There were indications that's psychic abilities are greater than its parents and it managed to survive. I suspect that if GaoGaiGar Z had lifted off the ground, it would have played a role in the show.
@Godzillawolf1 Yep-- that energy blade that Oltos sprouted from his forehead then speared Kankel with served to instantly cancel Kankel's unlimited regeneration factor; so when Oltos tore Kankel apart then vaporized him, it was bye-bye Kankel-- no regeneration power, no way he could come back again.
Kankel from what I've read was born from Humanity's attempts to play God so it's the fault of those who sought to achieve perfection for Humanity that Kankel exists and nearly destroyed Humanity.
@InfernoRodan If I recall, wasn't that pretty much the same reason Kankel was as unstoppable as he was-- because he could regenerate from *anything*, even if only a single cell was left? For all intents and purposes (until Oltos came along of course) Kankel himself *couldn't* be killed. Wasn't the only reason Oltos won is because he had the power to cancel Kankel's regeneration abilities (while Kankel couldn't do likewise to Oltos) so Kankel couldn't ever come back?
By stabbing with psycho birth, oltos unleashed all of kankeru’s genetic information, and since unleashed cells are the ultimate in evolution, and the end of evolution is death, all of Kankeru's cells returned to nothingness.
I’m just gonna say it, Kankel is one of the worst villains in all of anime. Yeah i know its kinda obvious since it has no personality or evil plans but for crying out loud i cant take it seriously. They try to make it look unnatural by having it wiggle around, but it just ends up making it look way too goofy and silly. Another big problem i have with kankel, why does it have a female build? Seriously they try to make this thing scary its hard to take seriously when it has a humanoid female shape. Back onto those scenes where its wiggling around it, with that humanoid shape it just looks like its doing a stupid dance.
His forms not feminine it just shaped that way for flight as it can change form like it did when it tackles lamia, also he is evil as he killed many to become this bestman that can infinitely regenerate while still being a giant cancer cell and would of probably forced his idea of evolution on mankind leading to a mass slaughter of all the earth where many must be killed just to achieve that form and as lamia stated his existence threatened to alter the balance of the world slowly killing it along with man kind as lamia and his kind where born for the sake to protect the world
