The project was supposed to be sequel to the GGG FINAL GGG, and include more characters from the Betterman side of the universe. The enemy this time? Well, there's something ripping through Jupiter, enveloped with THE POWER...

これはガオガイガーファイナルの後編だと言うことが大事
Considering that it's been about 8 years since this came out, I think it's a safe bet that we'll never get to see Gaogaigar in any real series again. That's pretty depressing.
I find it more depressing that people find it depressing that people still harp on the matter rather than turn their attention on more productive matter, like moving to other good series we've seen during the last decade.
Gaogaigar needed a proper ending, but never got it. That's not right.
How heroes saving the day and rescuing the hopes of our future is not a proper ending? Oh right, because you know there was planned for a sequel where Genesic rips itself out of Jupiter and would've fought against the Somnium. Would that been a better ending? Shoving more unnecessary plots that had little to nothing to do with the main series? Perhaps to some, but much like Team Knight Rider, it would've been completely unnecessary addition that most likely would not have made proper sense or profited Sunrise enough to warrant any new products.
If there's story potential, and Sunrise can do whatever they want with the license, and they're not allergic to money, it's at least worth a try to do at least a 30 min special. No fan would object to that.
Buzzing Neon Productions
Everything has story potential. Sunrise will do whatever they want with the license, and they choose to do nothing when there's better franchies to produce, like Gunpla Battlers. Fans don't matter shit if they don't bring in the money, and GGG, sad to say, is not a worthwhile franchise when it comes to making money. That's why the second box of the US release didn't have the dub either. If GGG had been more popular than what it was, then we'd have more of it already. As it stands, GGG just isn't a viable option from any point. If you -really- want that new GGG show ever made, start voting with your wallet. Even after buying all the toys they're releasing Sunrise can make a decision to release more toys for the fans alone rather than invest into a new, expensive animation with extremely limited audience.
I hope gaogaigar vs betterman was animated
At least there's a novelization released (Hakaiou: GaoGaiGar vs. Betterman) and now there's a manga series being made of it. Who knows, if it's successful enough there might be enough interest for an anime adaptation.
Would have liked a transformation sequence for Awakener GaiGo (I think that's its name) and a Final Fusion scene for GaoGaiGo at the very least.

The only way I think that Project Z would appear is in the Super Robot Wars games as GaoGaiGo could appear as a playable character. They did something similar with the fourth series, Daiteioh in the Eldoran shows by including it in Super Robot Wars NEO. Daiteioh just like Project Z was only a trailer but they included it in anyway.

Anyo Gambito Daiteioh's animation we have is a pitch, sort of pilot episode. This footage we have of Project Z is the same; a pitch to show to the execs what the series would be about. At lest it has a comic adaptation.
Dendoh can't use scrapped elements from Project Z, as Dendoh came out in 2000 and Grand Glorious Gathering was aired in 2005.

Anyo Gambito Take a deep breath and use punctuation. The Brave series staff indeed had a choice between GaoGaiGar Final and BaanGaan, and they decided to use the budget for Final. Brave Saga does have BaanGaan. New Century Brave Wars also houses Quantum Leap Layzerber, which was made as a new Brave, but is not officially recognized as one.
Kuikkamies (Okay i will try the punctuation.) It would be awesome to see a Super Robot Wars with all the Brave series. (Plus Betterman and Dendoh.)
Things have changed so much in the industry for this to take off. A series like this would not appeal to the newer anime fans much... maybe. It would be a risk.
Ain't 2006 the same year Gurren Lagann came out? Pretty sure GaoGaiGar would've done great.
I mean, it would not have great success for western audience, but i can guarantee you that Japan still would love it. Look at Shinkalion that was released this year. It's pretty much ignored for the sake of "oh so superior and mature" Darling in the suc...err.. Franx, but in Japan it's other way around - Darling has rather modest fanbase and Shinkalion is everywhere.

Jupiter, to be exact, through the use of Galaxy Road. You know how THE POWER is rather unstable? Well, mix that with Genesic and you have quite a lot destruction in your hands.

FenrirEX Sun is still there, and I Jupiter can't go nova, thou it has overgrown in size in the footage. All we can say is THE POWER! has something to with it. It was pretty volatile power source in the series, and whatever info I've seen seems to hint that THE POWER! would have made Genesic a mad God of Destruction.
Kuikkamies Jupiter can't go nova without a massive dump of mass or energy. Such as THE POWER. And yeah, whatever was coming out of Jupiter at the end was pants-darkeningly terrifying.

I kinda think the DrillGao II and LinerGao II was repaired after the destruction of GaoFighGar, after the StealthGao II was rebuilt after the battle against Zonuda?

It's a real shame that this never got Animated, but one problem I have with it is that it's trying a bit too hard to tie this in with Betterman. Another commenter pointed this out but I have to agree with him. These two really have no business being connected with each other despite taking place in the same universe

On the one hand, I wouldn't mind this being finished so I can have another GGG series. On the other hand, I'm kind of glad they didn't make it, because it's really just a dumb tie in series to further connect two different anime that honestly have no business being related (Even if they are canonically in the same universe).

Yea the original team dies at the end of FINAL Mamoru and Kaidou get sent back to earth inside of J ark's missiles
No they didn't die. They escaped the trinary solar system using one of Genesic's abilities. However, they skipped over several years from Earth's perspective, and haven't returned by the time of this trailer. This happens in the novelization of what Project Z would have been: "Hakaiou: Gaogaigar vs. Betterman"

GGGvB is Project Z, just not animated. They never got the green light or the budget to animate it, but at least they got to put it out as a novel and a comic down the line. Consider this a pitch pilot.

突然にすみません！
ガオファーはギャレオンを欠いた状態で獅子王凱が搭乗出来、ガイガーに代わってガオガイガーになるためのコアシステムになっており、その当時の時系列的に護少年は居らず凱はエヴォリュダーに進化していました。
ガオガイガーは当初、サイボーグ凱の心臓部であるＧストーンを媒介として起動する「ＧＳライド結合Ｇドライブ」を搭載していました。
そしてガオファーはＧストーンと一体化したエヴォリュダー凱からエネルギーを抽出する「エヴォリアルウルテクエンジン」を搭載することでガオファイガーを重機動メカノイドとして運用出来るようになりました。
設計には獅子王凱がいることが前提だったんです。
また護、戒道少年帰還後に紆余曲折あって、二人は覚醒人の起動に必要な「デュアルカインド」であることが発覚し、二人に合わせた仕様として、覚醒人凱号及びガオガイゴーが完成した、ということですね。
ガオファーに護少年の念動力で動かせるようなシステムがあれば或いは動かせたかもしれませんね！
Web小説版ではファントムガオーに焦点を充てた胸熱な展開もあるので（既に読んでいるかも知れませんが）、必見です！
ようやく始動したプロジェクト「覇界王 ガオガイガー対ベターマン」。
コミック版が2019年3月にリリースするということで、「覇界王」が一層盛り上がって嬉しい限りです！

Pity it never went anywhere, but at the same time I'm kinda glad it didn't, because Betterman was the worst thing to happen to the GGG universe.
