It never ceases to amaze me how Phil refuses to read any instructions longer than a sentence. He was just doing this yesterday with the Tekken demo. The game was trying to explain a new mechanic to him, he of course skipped right past it with never reading it and then got upset minutes later that the game expected him to know about the new mechanic.
i feel the only reason why phil says "in my opinion" is to preemptively shut up rage mobs that would come after him if he ever states something as objective fact
And his opinions are always his own takes on any game which although he does have a right to one, almost all of them are always about himself and his own PayPigs agree on.
Again, I really love how you do the intros and the scenario of following the pigroach through the Nintendoverse 😂 As for KHET, I'm pretty sure, like, 99% or more sure that she knows everything about the Gin and WWE addiction, she's into this weird parasitic relation willingly, she gets a place to stay without paying for rent or food, she's not bothered by the manchild for at least 16 hours a day, all she has to do is to be a beard and open her legs once every blue moon, she understand that and is thankful for it. Leanna on the other hand was young and ignorant when she met him, but soon enough grew into an adult and realized this is NOT a kind of life she'd want to be in, especially after the hospital situation which really seemed to be the final straw. But Kat? Kat knows everything and just sees the benefits and is thankful for it. The only reason Kat would leave him is if he went absolutely bankrupt, for real, not pretending to be so legally while pocketing 6 figures a year under the pretense of "donations" and "business expenses", that's the only reason why she'd pick up her stuff and go live somewhere else, and he himself knows that, which is why he's spending an absurd amount of money on her too, this isn't the same that he had with Leanna, this is a "We try and make this work" situation. As for why he loses, its really the same reason he sucks - and by contrast, loves - JRPG games! I noted it in my own TIHYDP, the way DSP plays these games it that he levels up and punches down, in FF IX he never got how the armor pieces teach you magic and abilities, in VI he RARELY switched the magicite pieces around or even used them as summons, and don't get me started on the Souls games and Demon's Souls in particular and what he did that - that's a subject for a video in the near future 🤫 - while here and in other Pokémon games, he never figured out the way the game works, and this is the most ironic considering he's been playing these games since Red & Blue... WHICH CAME OUT WHEN HE WAS 16 YEARS OLD! Like... the guy has no excuse here! But its just how he plays RPGs, I can actually even tie that to his WWE Championship addiction, where the only difference is that the time spent grinding is replaced with a "Pay-to-Win" design, but in all those examples, it all comes down to him leveling up and punching down, he's a sicko who gets his jollies from feeling better than others, they can attack him when he has 10,000 HP and barely do 1 HP of damage, then he proceeds to "CLICK" them to death! He is too good to learn the mechanics, they're beneath him, he'll spend 7 hours fighting weak enemies / abuse a glitch / pay an ungodly amount of money to reach that point, then he'll show everyone how cool he is by single-clicking enemies to death! As for the "Pokémon Vest", as with a lot of other "Donated by a fan" items, I highly... HIGHLY doubt that is true. Most likely he and his wife got from a flea market for $2.50 and is trying to say its donated by a fan for a couple of reasons, first off and most importantly, to cover his stinky butt legally, he can't say he's buying frivolous things when he's doing his bankruptcy thing, this is the same reason why he refers to his tips as tips and not "donations", cause he wants the legal terminology to cover his butt on that end when it comes to money, other items need to be registered as "donations" though. Second, same as before but to his fans, he can't say he's got the extra money to buy a vest while begging them for thousands of dollars a week "just to survive". I doubt DSP opens up anything that comes from any "fan" assuming it even makes it past his gated community's security. I won't be surprised if he issued orders that anyone coming in to meet him or deliver something is to be held at the gates. You never noticed how everything he wants he gets "donated by a fan"? None of it are donations, they're his own purchases. And before I forget, the nuclear sneeze at 30:58 was just... "It's pure-Psychic, yet happens to know a Dark move!" I believe Shadow Ball is Ghost, piggie. Gardevoir WAS weak to Dark prior to Gen 6 with the then-new Fairy type. Now it's neutral to Dark. Also LOVE how he said he prepared, yet had a weak-ass unevolved Mon and several underleveled Mons in his party. I, for one, actually welcome Tulip and her genre-savviness regarding her weaknesses. Gardevoir is part-Fairy, which cancels out Bug and Dark-type weaknesses while also nailing those Darks with Dazzling Gleam and Farigiraf is outright IMMUNE to Ghost thanks to its Normal/Psychic typing and hits hard against the Ghosts with the Dark-type Crunch. That's without mentioning her Tera-Psychic Florges, which any person should NOT play in a Dark-type against unless they have high enough Sp. Def to tank its monstrously powerful Moonblast or are lucky enough to have a Tera Type that's NOT Dark.
More how to beat any Pokémon game: 9. Never forget to have a tankie Pokémon for tough battles, 10. Spamball aka spamming pokeballs only works of you have at least 99 of each ball, 11. False swipe makes catching easy, 13. Pokémon are like tools, always have the right one for the job; 14. Never overload one type on your party unless doing a challenge run, 15. No situation is hopeless, don't give up too easy, 16. Don't underestimate opponents...
57:33 what phil isnt aware of is damage ranges. happens to the best players tbh. every attack is like 90% to 100% of the damage its meant to do, so if you get a low roll at one attack and a high roll at another it affects things and makes what seems like a safe attack into death. I agree only get these if they're really dirt cheap online and don't bother with the DLC because it's not even worth it and you're better off getting other DLC that actually improves or expands upon the game's world like what you just mentioned for xenoblade Chronicles and even fire emblem 3 houses if all you own is a switch. Because of the huge sales and the fact that people just bought this despite all the issues, it makes me terrified of what's gonna be happening in the next foreseeable future for the series and for the inevitable generation 5 remakes. The Elite Four is when i replaced my bread dog with clodsire to get tipe diversity, because i expected not being able to switch and all that and risking another poison base desaster was a no go. that was also the only party change i did, gardevoir, ampharos, quaquaval, tinkaton, clodsire and crueledge was my final squad Also about phils league run, bruh he has been heal stalling so much in there with how long his t-tar was up. phil: "oops he used an ice move thats a bad choice" i feel phil pp stalled him out of glaive rush god the item stalling with this man holy fuck its bad. like its rediculously bad how many items he had to throw because his team is trash. adding the nemona part here too cause its fitting. He only grinds by catching Pokemon as well as fighting them and other trainers and he got lucky that his Pokemon was overleveled at the final Nemona fight and at the final boss in Area Zero.
