Ito dapat ang binibigyang pansin ng mga Filipino hindi yang mga Koreano. Whether we like it or not mas malapit ang Pilipinas sa Mexico (culturally). Huwag nating ipagpumilit ang ating mga sarili sa pag-adapt ng Korean culture kasi ang layo ng agwat!
I'm so late, but our education is literally patronizing s. Korea language. Yung matandang babae sa deped gusto niya pagaralin ang mga pilipino ng wikang wala namng kaugnayan sa atin.
Totoo naman e sa pangalan palang na ginagamit natin walang halos pinagkaiba sa mga Mexicano.
You cannot compare Philippines-Mexican long history to Korean Popular Culture. Two cultures are totally different beautiful on their own. So kung ayaw mo sa Filipinos patronizing Korean culture so buong araw sila sasayaw ng La Cucaracha sa TikTok o manood ng Mexican Telenovela? Di na angkop ang kultura ng Mexicans sa present generation ng Pilipinas whether you like it or not. KPOP is the new thing. Ganun talaga
KDRAMA is way better sa Mexican telenobela. Most dramas sa Pinas ay nakabase sa mga boring na telenobela sa Mexico. Poor girl, rich boy. Iyakan at sampalan. Boring at paulit-ulit.

Interesting facts and history for my Filipinos friends. Alejandro Gomez Maganda became the first Mexican of Filipino ancestry to be governor of the state of Guerrero from 1951-1954. And his political party was PRI which stands for Institutional revolutionary party.

Filipino Mexicans (Spanish: Mexicanos Filipinos) are Mexican citizens who are descendants of Filipino ancestry.[1] There are approximately 1,200 Filipino nationals residing in Mexico. The “Manila” galleon was about trade with **China** . Many filipinos blow things out of proportion to put themselves and Philippines in the spotlight. It was more about China and India, and in reality the Philippines was but **one** area with Spanish rule in Asia. They always say they’re the “only” one. Not true at all. The Marianas, Guam, Carolinas, and ports in other Asian countries were all considered the East Indies.

It is. Tagalog ≠ Filipino.
Growing up in the Philippines, we had to read books like El Filibusterismo, or Noli Me Tangere in high school. You can see there that it's pure Tagalog. Or at least that's the translation we had to read. (We obviously couldn't read in Spanish)
My point is, Filipino is not the same as Tagalog. An easy explanation for it is that Filipino is Tagalog + Other languages (Both from inside and outside the country)
