I just watched the one you said this was inspired by. I find it kinda poetic how Sasha and Marcy essentially flip roles in yours vs. the older one. Oh how the tables have turned

Sasha learned her lesson and she's trying to teach Marcy that same lesson.

Sasha is seriously considering taking to battle a bunch of peasants to fight an organized army of robots ? She should take the strongest frogs with her (leaving Grime to take care of the village while she's away) to go meet with Beatrix, then return to Wartwood to take over the Toad Tower, and then take control of the valley to properly organize it against Andrias. War is no time to be soft hearted. And if any toad or frog causes problems among the ranks because of old grudges, then Sasha disciplines them. I really hope they don't change her too much. While I agree she shouldn't be possessive, I actually appreciated her other qualities.
One thing I like is the emotionless expression on Darcy's face throughout the animatic.

In the video Marcy doesn't want to actually turn against Sasha and Anne it's the core so it's not the path Marcy wants to take. Amazing animation !!!

I've been watching "Youjo Senki" and it gave a new perspective regarding "Amphibia".
For starters, the fact the Core sought to add someone more intelligent than Andrias to itself, even though, technically, they're family. I think this shows the Core values logic over emotion, and as a result, it sees Andrias as inferior, as his actions, including the conquest, seem to be based of a twisted nostalgia.
I think "Amphibia", like "Youjo Senki" is a story of emotion vs logic. The very dynamic between the girls and the modus operandi of both Sasha and Marcy seems to serve as further evidence to my theory.
Until now, we've seen this show on an emotional perspective. And it was said emotional perspective that lead to this whole situation in the first place. Sure, there were some minor positive consequences (character development), but little else. Maybe to fix the problem and ensure a good aftermath, people need to start looking at this on a more logical perspective. Now, this doesn't mean Marcy has to die. There's no logic in that at all. But still, you know what I mean.
