God it's been 1.5 years since I last posted something animation related uuhh oops! Sorry I spent like 1 year of that making a bachelor film (which I will post here eventually, just not yet!)
Anyway welcome to my ''i just think valerie should have the right to attempt murdering vlad but dannys a little wimp whos against killing for youknowwhat reason'' animatic. I thought of it while listening to the song half asleep at like 4am 3 months back and the idea wouldn't leave me alone until i did it.
It might be an alternate ending to D-stabilized or it could happen some time after that idk! Feel free to make your own assumptions I just wanted to draw angry ready-to-kill val and kicked-puppy goody-two-shoes danny lmao. All I know is val already knows dannys identity because i wanted to draw him transform TWICE like a maniac.
I'm kinda in my danny phantom drift again, so i wanna use that to my advantage and do another animatic hihi. I have 37 dp exclusive ideas though (and 32 other ideas...... it equals to 69 lmao) so it's gonna take me a while to decide which one to do, im hating it here
but next time I'm dropping the backgrounds, screw this crap no matter how nice it looks

But let's be honest. The finale was great.
The Dark Danny plot line and Danny and Valerie’s relationship were the most interesting parts of the show for me. I wish Valerie had been more involved in the story as I really liked her character
Fr I'm still so mad that after Destabilized her story line was just capped and we don't even see an actual reaction to Danny's identity reveal in that fuck up of a finale (and no the surprised crowd shot does not count lmao)
Foreshadowing after reading Glitch in Time.
Love that this "dead" Fandom is living on and thriving still

No one ever talks about how Danny set off the dark timeline where everyone died because he cheated on a TEST. Of COURSE he refuses to diverge from his morals. If doing such a small thing led to the end days, then he CANNOT afford to compromise on the bigger issues. Danny probably lives in constant fear of accidentally inciting that timeline, ESPECIALLY since Dan never dissapeared. That timeline is still possible. And that horrifies Danny.

Being completely serious for a moment The Ultimate Enemy episode was a perfect episode and no one can convince me otherwise. When you added the flashbacks I literally screamed. This was amazing!

Also the expression on "lost a game" was prefect cause I imagine her thinking about Phantom being seen as playful ie the banter and puns wouldn't see ghost hunting as serious as she does

This is honestly incredible. I am in love with everything in this animatic. Character movements are particularly great. And don't even get me started on characters' expressions and body language.
Vlad's sassiness? Perfect. Danny remembering his traumatic "past"? Perfect. Valerie proud of her work and determined to finish the job? Perfect.

I love what you did with Danny's lines. Small criticism: Maybe you should have added in a bit of Valerie losing her house and her dad trying to keep everything together. Valerie's part felt a bit lacking in comparison to Danny's without her context

This is so awesome. It really brought to life a fanfiction I read of the show that I personally think is canon in my head because of how perfectly it fits in with the show's lore and everything. It's the Infinite Potential series by MyAibou, which picks up a few months after the finale of the show and adds to the show. The characters all act and sound EXACTLY like they did in the show, it's so refreshing to see.
This scene was in the story, but Valerie was trying to kill Vlad because she thought he'd killed her Dad (Vlad actually made the two of them think he'd killed their loved ones after he trapped them in the Ghost Zone. But it was all a trick on his part.)
And Val was so angry, she wanted to kill Vlad. With Danny stopping her for this exact reason. He knew what happened to him when he chose hate and pain, i.e. The Ultimate Episode Dark Danny edition. And he doesn't want her to lose herself in her vengeance. So Val goes after Danny, angry at him for stopping her. It was so so emotional and beautiful. This video just made that story come to life for me. Thank you!

This was so amazing you have no idea how inspiring this is!!!! Of course this song is already awesome and DP is great too, but you really kicked it them both up a notch by making DP a musical! It takes on its own plotline where Valarie knows his identity already and omg its just such an amazing take on the show! You did an awesome job on the fluid movements for the animation too! we can just act like phantom planet never happened 👀👀👀 (or alternatively bring the action TO the moon!)
@@kadziduo Funny you mention that, the show *was* supposed to continue on after Phantom Planet. But it was canceled. Dark Danny was even supposed to return as the ultimate final boss of the series.
Oh well, I guess there's always the new sequel novel, but it's just not the same as actually looking at the show.
@@kadziduo I think everyone acts like Phantom Planet hasn't happened. Been in the fandom for less than two months now and I am seriously impressed.
The show is litteraly older than me, but the fandom is still alive, though not as much now in 2023, from what I've noticed. I am especially impressed by the fact the fandom created a brand new character, Wes Weston, from litteraly seeing him as a bg character in the show for less than 10 seconds. And the character alone is better than most character development in season 3 (Exept in D-stabilized, I like that episode).
And now animatics like this and fanart and fanfictions keep me addicted. I am not really into superhero stuff and action but I do love lore and plot. Danny Phantom is basically about a boy who is half-ghost and struggles to keep people in Amity park safe from evil ghosts (Oh, and he CHOOSE to protect people when he got his powers. There wasn't some cliche prophecy or quest stuff), and keep his secret identity. His intire secret identity is focused around keeping it from his parents, pretty much all his enemies know. That is cool plot in my opinion.

This is why I was never a fan of Valerie. She seemed like the type to choose hate over love, which would doom any romance she could've had with Danny.
I mean it makes sense, for Valerie and Danny never got along at first for she was always hunting him whenever he was Danny Phantom before they got got caught by Skulker.
This has to be one of the best animatics I have seen in a good dang while! The song fit the situation perfectly and it looked like this whole segment could have actually happened in the show. You got all the characters perfectly portrayed, the art is amazing and, man there is so much to compliment on I am not sure there are enough characters available for me to type it all!!! This is so good! I can see why you'd put them in those positions for the song. But I feel like Valerie is actually justified (unlike Cass lmao) since she just wants to kill Vlad which would solve so many problems (since in this timeline he's pretty much just an evil asshole). But I love how Danny's refusal to do that isn't simply because he's some 2 dimensional goody two shoes hero but because he actually knows what could happen if he starts doing stuff like that. Very well thought out and executed really nicely with the actions and set pieces.
Edit: I also wanted to specifically point out the transition at 0:57, that was so creative!

1st of all, this animatic is absolutely amazing! This is pretty much exactly how I imagine the characters in my head from the poses and expressions down to just how you've potrayed their personalities!
Expanding on that, I really like how you potrayed Val to have a significantly more mature look compared to Danny (val having narrower features and generally more mean expressions compared to Danny's wider, cuter and FULL of concernment expressions)
2nd: VAL JUST CASUALLY ELECTROCUTING DANNY TO THE POINT HE'S UNCONSCIOUS AND HIS POWERS ARE TURNED OFF LIKE DAMN GIRL HE WAS JUST TRYING TO MAKE SURE YOU DON'T GO CRAY CRAY!
