I think the technical problem was not an accident but planned and intentional by the management and without the girls knowledge. I would definitely do that if i'm part of the planning/pr team to showcase that they are and can sing live. It's was a huge opportunity especially in front of this huge crowd and i assume it was broadcasted live. There's a backing track with a lower volume playing for the parts that has harmonies but that's normal. Still you can hear that they are singing live.
