You know, it is nice to see this. A break from the drama of everyday life and people just being fans. I've never been to a Con, but want to.
It’s fun but you’re going to blow through a lot of money. Save up.
Hint:
Don't go to anything big like SDCC or Windy City Con (or whatever it's being called now).
You'll enjoy the smaller cons better -- less crowded, more dealer friendly, less of the autograph booth BS you see at the larger cons.
And you'll probably find better deals on merchandise, too.
I was never a huge con goer but I didn't enjoy my experiences at Chicago Comic Con or MegaCon so much. Well, I did meet some older timers at MegaCon before they passed away but I gotta say I didn't enjoy the crowds.
Look around. Small cons and comic shows are everywhere and cheap to get in.
Rule number one when going to cons is ALWAYS preregister.
You should go!! You have to try at least one. My first con was not until 2014 and I regret not going to one sooner.
Edit: I also agree smaller ones are best to start with. Bigger ones can get overwhelming
For a fun moment, check out Clownfish's walkthrough at Sci Fi Valley Con 2019 where one of the booths recognized Kneon and Geeky Sparkles' voice from the youtube channel.
It isn't hard at all to find their pictures. They look like the avatars used on the videos. I'm sure someone expects like Dr. Claw or some weird thing. Nope. They look like their avatars. Shocking.
So weird to hear Geeky Sparkles in real life! She sounds so much more tame! LOL
I wonder how she would react if she heard RK Outpost’s thoughts on Women in the 50’s & 60’s having it better back then.
@@JSPena sorry mom
Clownfish already know about FNT, especially Ryan. Fun fact, AZ has a Bubbly Steve stuff toy.
Geeky, stop apologizing! This was really cool. I haven't been to any conventions in almost 20 years... Not since 2004 anyway... Just no opportunities to go for a long time.
But this was really cool. Thank you for this Geeky.
Great to see you there! Just as nice in real life as you’d imagine! The con was a great time.
Shoutout to the person who liked the show. We've actually met before. I couldn't talk right then as I was recording and I went to go back to say "Hi" and you are gone.
These smaller cons are gonna survive.
The larger, expensive cons that USED to fly in celebs? Not so much!
Dragoncon will survive
This IS a big con, just not humongous. Steel City Comic Con is three days and does have celebrities. They just don't have the A listers, which is a good thing however.
Such a peaceful video. Makes me miss conventions.
Also, that Jigglypuff on the far right at 12:36 is so ugly I love it.
If there's one thing comic cons taught me- is that it's ok to be a nerd. I was bullied and made fun of my love of anime and Japanese culture in the small town I grew up in. The first time I went to a comic con it felt so weird being able to just blend in, and feel like everyone else.
I'm done with comic cons for now, but this was sweet seeing nerds just being nerds again.
This.
I haven't been to any cons in some time, but this was nice. Makes me want to check out if we've got anything going on in Reno later this year.
Good lord do I miss cons... thanks for the vid though it really brings back the good times :D
Oh yeah that’s right cause of the pandemic I forgot about that
Love the Walk through and always making great videos y'all are the best keep up the good work
Ty for this, even though I'm out on the road I can still see the con. You guys are awesome
It is nice to see these events resuming again. Also, how cool that you got to go see Christina Ricci. I love her!
Have fun. I haven't been to a con in years. I know some are held again in my country, but they're all too far away and the ones in my area are still cancelled until at least next year.
That was everything I love about Con fans. Nice Job.
This makes me feel a little sad. I miss Cons. Gotta go to one this year.
I don't think there isn't any state that doesn't have cons or toy shows. My favorite ones are in Michigan and Indiana.
I'll be at Grand Rapids Comic-con today. I'm tempted to make a huge sand-witch board to wear around that simply say's. "Steve Rodgers is Captain America. Peter Parker is Spider-man." It'd be triggering to some lol.
Cool, I love Grand Rapids. I was there selling Pokemon and anime toys and collectibles in the arena section next to the seats.
WOW! Some Big Girls in my old home town!
I'm so happy to see cons coming back strong like Wondercon and Fan Expo. It makes me more excited for NYCC who just announced when they're selling badges
Thank you Geeky S. This was cool...Dudes should never were hotpants !
Haha love it. Only 5 minutes in and already seen 12 of my friends walking around
I've been wanting to go to a con for years. my only problem is that the only con here is a bit of a drive from here and closes early in the day, so you basically have to plan a vacation. But, maybe someday, and I'd like to make a cosplay too!
This is great
No drama
No stress
No sjws
No Twitter
Just people having a good time
This is exactly what nerd culture should be
Just being having a good time
Been dying to go for years now last con was like 2010 so yeah its really nice to see them back in light of all thats happend and I hope that maybe one of these day I can tend another one
Artist Alley is always so cool, except on the wallet!
An artist i watch on Twitch did cons, and many times he would leave his booth and take us on a tour. Hu usually would stream from his booth and the people watching was always so fun! One time we saw a group that cosplayed as the Stunt Doubles from Spaceballs!
This is one of the few places where a dude can walk around in an open bath robe and no one even notices. Was that Kneon?
You saw the Dude there today as well?
Thank you so much for the walkthrough! It's good to see them back in-person again! There's so many same dealers that I've seen at Kawaii Kon (anime con), here in Hawaii that are the same dealers at Steel City Con including the food vendors.
I'm going to try and go to 2022 Alabama comic Con this year I'm so excited
Thanks for giving us this walkthrough.
I've been to an anime convention in my country every year since 2010.
The second I hear there's gonna be one in 2022? I am going.
Looks like a fun con! Thanks Geeky!!
Man, with the amount of stuff there I'd be broke AF
Thanks for posting this. It is nice to see some normalcy in todays world.
This is first time I see somebody with a booth selling chocolate and sweets at comic book convention.
Every PA con has a ton of fudge vendors. I don’t know why.
@@ClownfishTV Yeah they do, but I for one don't mind it 😊
There's fudge vendors at most of the cons I've been to. That includes Chicago, Indianapolis, and Michigan.
We found Geeky Sparkles weakness!!!!! Crowds lol
Also dolls with brushable hair
As a Canadian, this video makes me so jealous of being able to walk at a con with nerd people, without masks (not being screamed at for wearing or not wearing), interacting with people and enjoying a day out.
Where I live we don't get cons unless we go to a major city that is a dumpster fire, sadly no luck of finding work in America, so I'm stuck here 💁♂️
Just learn Spanish, go to Mexico and cross the border.
You guys need to come to NYCCC2022! Lol I would love to meet you in person.
Thanks Geeky.... it was fun to see
wow that place was huge. I enjoy the CON exploration videos since I rarely get to go. curious about the "Unlucky VII", looked interesting- thank you
Tom Felton autograph plaque. *Faints*
Sword Pron!
Funko Pops!
I have been know to go back to several vendors myself during the weekend at cons trying to decide if I want to buy something or not. You aren't alone on that one.. ;0)
What're you talking about?! You're totally entertaining, Geeky!
I can smell the convection hall form here!
Nice to see 95% of folks living life as normal.
Not my thing but good to see fans out again reminds me what a very odd group they are ; )
Would have been nice to meet you guys. We were there till 2:30 today. Hopefully we can try to meet you in August.
She walked passed us. We were talking to Phil from Game Masters.
@@mrs_hobby_studio7422 After watching it again, You are correct!
The Return of Conventions!
This videos is showing me a whole lot of empty bank account. That's why i could never go to something like this. Because unless i was rich as all crazy, i would just empty my bank account. So much stuff i just want to buy! It's scary. But i'd love to go to a convention like this. But i would have to travel semi far to find something like this as there's nothing like this anywhere near where i live. Probably for the best since i'm poor. But i do love the second hand enjoyment i get from videos like this. So thank you.
Sometimes I spend around $600. A couple of times I didn't buy anything, I was working as a vendor however.
Quick get in line for Robbie Benson! Thanks for the walk through. I miss shows.
That was way early in the morning. The line for Paige O'Hara was at least an hour and a half wait, there were crowds later in the day. I was there today for way longer than I had planned, still had a good time and got her and Robby Benson's autograph on a nice work of Beauty and the Beast I made. They were impressed, though I don't really consider myself really that good.
This was my weekend! I wish I would have seen you! Big fan! I would have added your autograph to the stack of celebs I got 😆
You two should definitely visit the Calgary comic expo if you can!this looks great though
5:21: how many cool points do I lose for not knowing what we’re looking at here.
Oh, ETA: she just mentioned She-Ra. I was actually thinking it might be that.
(And I totally didn’t Google for validation that I was spelling her name correctly.😬)
A con event and it looks cool and I hope that in the future they can return to the once great gathering of geeks and nerds who do not give a shit about who sleeps with whom.
You mentioned a disturbing lack of She-Ra, I didn't note any Star Trek either.
Dang, this con is huge!
Thanks for the video. Never been to a Con myself, maybe someday.
I remember going to a Star Trek convention in the old convention center . My biggest memory from it was a really fat guy like Comic Book guy dressed up like TOS Kirk.
1:00 For a split second, that dude looked like Rich Evans.
It's been a minute since I was at a con. They've changed... a lot.
Nice brother I’m from Beaver County Pa and I just moved to Florida so it’s nice to see it I used to go all the time!
You are almost in my backyard! Have fun!
Gawd,...why so many Pop! displays, there must've been a dozen.... I can't imagine it being that popular, it overshadows ACTUAL comic collecting, or table-top war-gaming,...
It feels like the beenie baby craze and resurgence again with Pop! figures. I own a few because I like the characters but some people have hundreds in their rooms. But, I guess if they enjoy them, more power to them.
I have friends that collect them along with other kinds of figurines. Not my thing, personally I hate the design, but it makes them happy so 🤷🏽♀️
I never liked them. Thought they are weird but some people love them
16:31 sharpest well kept fit fellow among the lot.
Cool CON
Nice con tour.
"The coffee is very good; I recommend it."
That's because they use Monin brand syrup for flavours. That brand is the only good brand, though I use it for Italian Sodas.
I own one of those Chewie plush toys! Still in decent condition too. $85.00? Hmmm...
“There’s a disturbing lack of She-Ra here.” A sentence you don’t hear every day. ;) PS spent the first few years of my life growing up in Butler County. I still occasionally say yins. :)
Lots of well fed folks.
Hey hey hey lol
What is interesting to see is the age range. 🎉
Say hello to Hardiwear for me. I think he goes there.
Goodness. I use to live not far from Monroeville. (Churchill.)
People just coming together and enjoying their geek hobbies without anyone being outraged, making protests, or demanding respect?
What is this, real life?
Is this a peek into the mythical world of not giving a fuck and just being happy?
Incredible...
12:38 had a very scary looking jiggle puff
I live a hour and a half away and didn't know about it until now.
Sure the first time I don't go.... I missed you guys
Hope to see you guys tomorrow!!!
God I wish I had money. Love going to the first day of a con and checking all the Art and products for sale.
The atmosphere is a bit like my local flea market.
My question: Is the food good? I have never been to a flea/Amish market that did not have azing food.
Be careful of the Amish!
If you've done anything to their cats, you've earned an enemy for life!
Ask Shane Davis about that!
Cons in convention centers usually just have an overpriced snack bar. Some cons use facilities with a food court, in which case the lines are miles long. Pre-COVID, some cons had con suites where they supplied free food. Those days are probably over. Pro tip: If you ever see a busy food court and there is a restaurant with no line, do NOT eat there. No line is not an invite to get food fast. No line means something is wrong with the food and everybody alse already knows it.
@@AvengerII Lol, that's an odd warning. Why would anyone feel compelled to upset a cat owned by an Amish person?
@@speedgriffon2504 It's a long-running joke with Shane.
Also, when he moved into his current home, he and his wife "adopted" a local cat and took it with them. It appears that cat might have belong to the local Amish or so goes the joke!
Never under-estimate people who can raise a barn in a day AND craft master-quality furniture by hand!
@@AvengerII Love it! And don't forget their incomparable baked goods -- the group where I live make the most incredible mozzerella-and-olive kolaches!
Devon Sawa and Christina Ricci? Is this is a Casper reunion?
Pretty much. These con does “reunions” all the time. They had a National Lampoons reunion on the other side of the con floor with Chevy Chase, Beverly D’Angelo and Anthony Michael Hall. Randy Quaid bailed at the last minute.
@@ClownfishTV That's clever. From where I am, there's no con like that.
Reunion? Huh... That's weird, because there was poster of it in one of the booths.
I used to attend the Pgh cons from the late 80's to mid 2000's. But then I completed my Marvel collection, and don't buy bootlegs anymore. So there wasn't much point in spending more on the entry fee than merchandise.
Great to see. Thanks 👍
Christina Ricci? One wild movie I saw her in was After Life, where she plays a dead woman in a funeral home. Liam Neeson co-stars. (Not for kids though...)
I'm in this video standing waiting for Devon Sawa's autograph. ❤
I don't collect, but it might be a good place to pick up DVDs.
Wait, they had AEW people there? Interesting.
It drives me nuts when people just stand in the middle of isles
Do you guys regularly do Steel City Con? My girlfriend lives near MonroeVille. If I wasn't in school I would have gone with my friends
I was here on Sunday!
This is new and I like it
AWESOME!!!!!!!!😱🤘🤘
2:22: I’m probably alone in thinking that meeting Robby Benson would be way cooler than meeting Christina Ricci.
Attendance looks a bit light. Is thus the furst day?
Are you guys going to Tekko in July this year?
Ya know, this walkthrough looks sorta like a walking simulator. When I try to play this game, I can't seem to get through level 1. Are there bosses in this game? Will we see you try to fight them next walkthrough?
Looks like 501st had a recruitment booth; time to crush those rebel scum once and for all.
Hey guys;got a question for you;been to several conventions I my lifetime, and I've yet to find any classic BATTLESTAR GALACTICA merch, just wondering if you have run across any ?
Nice walk.
