Oh, I recognize this tone. I have a '68 SG Special. It sounds absolutely wonderful.
Best lead tone I’ve ever heard is an SG special through a silver face twin at full roar. Robby, Carlos, Jerry. It’s the sound of 69
Pete must have missed this one; we can only thank the gods.
His work brought the values up
Great playing
Glorious
Sounds trashy and aggressive. I love it.
Perfectly worded lol love it too
My God. The tone...
Townshend-Woodstock, Leeds….that’s all
Exactly. This is like if Pete and Clapton hung out more
I don't understand the encouragement to treat this thing as a knockaround guitar. This is art and history!
Even Jimi played a Gibson SG
even though his was a white one.
Can you go back to showing the prices of the amp/guitar at the end of each video? 🙏✌
I wonder if those combo rig can do sludge/doom/stoner genre hahaha
Just play it through a marshall. Thats the one!
Derek Trucks owns one.
From Angus Young to
Frank Marino.
Audio is off on the recording even the voice sounds muffled
It appears to have a bridge pickup, but after watching the video I’m not so sure.
I never heard anyone describe P-90's as hotter Tele pups. I think they sound like humbuckers with whole lot more clarity. Just sayin.
Tomato tomato my friend
If anything it’s Gibson’s Jazzmaster
@@Dylan90210 Jazzmaster PUs are mellow compared to most Fender PUs and the P90.
Great guitar. I have a 65 Special. Pairs better with a different amp and Brit flavour especially Vox Marshall hiwatt. The bassman is way better with Strats and Teles.
I couldn’t disagree more. Go watch or rewatch The Who live at Leeds. Pete’s tone on Who’s Next was a Gretsch into a blonde 50’s og bassman cranked. Now swap in a different single coil guitar like the one Pete played at Leeds (Gibson SG) and you have a dirty mean tone that’s affectionately if Pete and Clapton got together on a lonely British evening.
What can be more Brit flavor than Clapton and Pete who both use blonde fender amps.
@@nathanzillmer6589 Sounds like you are agreeing to me... Live at Leeds was an SG Special and Hiwatt amps. Hard to top the tone in that performance.
guitar is fire but why pair it with a bassman ??
Because its a great amp that a lot of blues players have used over time...lol
It's not just a bass guitar amp...lol
You don’t hear that?
@@bryonkidder6199 bassman may be a cool amp with a different guitar but those two dont pair well at all in my opinion...
@@vanaegon9242 Same for me , to be honest , specially when playing Chords
@@vanaegon9242 so all the guys that played P-90's with a Bassman were wrong?...lmao
You've got a right to your own opinion, I guess...lol
There is nothing basic about a sg! It comes with a three page instruction manual. Have you read the whole manual? I have so keep your mitts off my sg! 🤣🤣🤣
bit too muddy for me, nice guitar though
I feel like on a lot of Bassman demos the use too much bass. That's what it sounds like to me at least.
Get that tremelo off and get your Pete Townshend vibe on!
This sound like farting....
Great guitar....but an. SG is NOTHING like the sound of a strat...lol...really?
Too bad this store is in Seattle, home of the homeless.
