Rather than pining for spring sewing, I created a quick spring transitional wardrobe. All of these patterns are easy makes, with the Mona jacket being a bit of a challenge- but a great option for a first jacket!

Love the jacket!
thanks!
The Mona jacket is amazing!!! You should be proud of yourself.
Thank you!
I love that t-shirt you are wearing! I love stripes and gathered sleeves so this is a double whammy. So cute.
Thanks! That Emery pattern is so fun!
This was my first time watching but I’ve been following you about body positivity and SMYLY. I’m starting slowly to sew for myself again - Hooray! and Thank you!
Thanks for watching, Esther! I have an interview coming up with the Smyly founders, so i hope you return to watch it. ☺️
Those pieces look like they'll be a great wardrobe! Love the jacket!!
As I was watching this, I thought what a nice job you did matching your stripes from one sleeve all the way to the other sleeve. And then you mentioned your stripe matching. I think you did a great job! And I reall like that top and pouf sleeve.
R Paul Thank you! Stripes are a bit of a double-edged sword!
Well done Lisa, everything looks great and yup, that jacket is awesome. Great put together
Thanks, Brenda! Now to wait for weather to wear them!
I agree it feels like winter will not leave this year. Really enjoyed your video and seeing the garments you made. :)
Thanks, Dawn!
Would love to see shots of your entire capsule wardrobe! Would give me a better idea of what could be worn together! Great Vlog!
Linda Novota As soon at the weather breaks 15C-- you got it! ;) It was -10 today!
I love seeing what you make. Your makes totally fit my lifestyle so I live vicariously through your vlogs. Actually you inspired me to make Toaster sweaters and now I have three of them! Keep up the good work!
Thanks, Shelley! I strive to keep most of my Makes wearable on a daily basis. The more I wear them, the better I feel!
Wonderful makes, the jacket is super cute.
Thanks!
i love your pieces that jacket and those pants are soo cute 🤗👍😀
Thanks, Estela! The pants were a nice surprise. :)
You should see me taking pictures of my doll clothes outdoor in January (Chicago Suburbs)!
Brrrr!!!
@@Lisamakes I grill all winter. We had a couple of times the knobs on our Weber were frozen and I didn't use the grill then.
Great capsule wardrobe, Lisa! Love the Mona jacket. Sending some Florida sunshine and wishes that Spring arrives for you soon.
Thanks, Laura!
I really enjoy watching your videos. thank you
Creative Momma of 3 Thanks so much!
Fab little collection Lisa!! Perfect example of a capsule wardrobe! The jacket is so so gorgeous - no wonder you’re proud of it ♥️ Love it all 😍
Thanks, Lou! I’m quite chuffed! (That’s one of my fave British words, that doesn’t really have a good counterpart in Canada.)
And Sew On I LOVE you excellent usage of it 👍🏻😄
Perfect capsule! And yes, I think we will skip Spring and go to Summer! Le jacket est superbe! :-)
Merci, Christine. 😘
Love the Hudson Pants!! Well done on matching the horizontal stripe, I am impressed ! Great job on the Mona Jacket by Wear Lemonade with the zipper and the ribbon! Very well done :)
Thank you! Stripes are always an interesting challenge. :)
Lisa, you did an awesome job on this collection! Your jacket is so exquisite… Love it!
Myra Lorraine Thanks, Myra! I’m so happy with it!
Cute capsule! Good idea for the woven Hudson’s! I just made a Mandy...I’m thinking a few more too! Happy sewing and fingers crossed for spring!
Thanks! Happy Mandy making!
Cute and handy, the jacket is fab.
Stitches & Seams Thank you!
Wonderful garments in a short time. Your jacket turned out so well in spite of the instructional language. A great wardrobe piece.
Last year I used a few French patterns and had a similar experience as I rarely have the opportunity to speak French. Trying to remedy this and build up my vocabulary again. I now have my car radio tuned in to a French station which "bugs" my friends when they drive with me. :) (especially when I sing along with the songs)
Have fun in LV. Cheers. JoAn
It’s great that you are sprucing up your french! I’m working on Spanish right now and often play Spanish podcasts in the car- it works!
Thank you thank you for the make my lemonade jacket link!!! Now to have my husband translate for me!
It’s a great make- the video is really clear. I’d suggest watching the whole thing first, and then referring back as you sew.
So cute!
I love the first outfit. I need that shirt!😍
Thanks! The Gallery Tunic is a great first shirt pattern. ;)
Hi, lovely garments and the Lemonade jacket is gorgeous and looks great on 😍
Thanks, Jane! 😘
Great video love the outfit you are wearing
Thank you!
Yes, bring on Spring, lol. Thanks for sharing all your cute makes (and the free pattern), you were quite productive:) I have a hot pink stretch denim that I had been planning to make a Butterick motorcycle jacket with (one of my 2018 make nine) but now I may use the Mona pattern. Seems like it would be a lot quicker, plus it's unlined, which for my fabric probably would be better for a light Spring/Summer jacket. Your version is so stylish!:)
Thanks! I had been looking at other patterns, too, but this gave me the look I wanted and is much simpler than the alternatives. You can add hardware to this pattern, I just didn’t bother.
Great pieces! I'm a beginner, so I might look out some of these patterns! Thank you so much for the links! TFS xx
Hazel Kinvig-Paul Go for it! Let me know how they turn out!
What a great little collection! Ugh this weather is awful....I’ve also been planing spring and summer things for a trip and it feels wrong sewing them all up. Hopefully it will turn around soon. I think my favourite from your makes is that jacket! Love the gold zipper choice!
Thanks! I took so long deciding on which zipper to get- I think the gold makes it. Here’s to better weather soon!
I’m in the process of scrolling through your videos. Love them all. Do you have sewing room tour?
Oh, thanks! No, I don’t- my sewing space is currently a disaster. Once I get it done, I will!
Hi Lisa, praying for warmer weather too😁🌅. Your Hudson pants look amazing on you and definitely a great pattern for you👍. The Emery top looks very cute and loved seeing the pictures of you in your filming role as Miss Stacy . Would love to know a bit more about your acting if you are allowed to on this channel 👍. Tank tops are always useful for layering and the Molly top always looks good and I must get around to trying that. I have printed out the PDF for the Mandy boat tee but not made it yet but I have a white and grey pinstripe jersey to try it with. I just went to look at the wear lemonade tutorial for the Mona and it looks easy to follow so Im excited to try it after seeing how lovely yours is 😍. Looking forward to seeing your Patti Pocket skirt....oh, and your ginger jeans 😁👍😘
Thanks, Sally! It’s sounds like that Mandy will be super cute in that fabric. I am crazy for stripes- although I don’t like sewing them! lol
Amei todas. Muito bom gosto
Obrigada!😘
I've just discovered your channel and I'm excited to go back and watch all your videos since I am in Toronto as well. Sitting through the ice storm today and cannot help but pine for spring. Do you have a local shop that you like for interesting buttons?
Welcome, welcome! Oh, the ice storm. Seriously. No words. I have a local shop called The Beach Sewing Centre where I have bought some- but honestly I’ve yet to see a button hole! Lol
Hi Lisa! Just catching up on your video. Thank you again for a great one! I love your Capsule Wardrobe makes! Great job! I have a question about your Hudson pants. Did you have to do anything different to accommodate that you’re using a woven rather than a knit? Like lengthen pockets? Omit the ankle cuffs? I made the Hudson pants but only in a knit and would like to try a woven fabric. Finally, sending you warmth and sun from San Diego, CA ☺️☀️
Hazel Gates Hey! I did do a few adjustments- and unfortunately I forgot to do the pockets, which makes them mostly ornamental. :) I did size up, but then they were too baggy on me- they probably would have been fine in a lighter, flowier fabric. I omitted the cuff and added about 4” to the legs- but I’m tall, so I needed it! Here is the link from True Bias for the adjustments they suggest: truebias.com/2014/07/hudson-pant-variation-woven-track-pant.html
Fabulous! I have a question though I am plus size and looking for videos on sewing and patterns for free for a plus size person. Have any suggestions? Thanks for what you do!
Hi Cindy! I wonder if Cashmerette patterns has any freebies? Also, On The Cutting Floor has free versions of most of their patterns, and lately they are offering it in sz 20, and come of the older ones have the full range of sizes. Hope that helps!
Great makes Lisa, the jacket is my fave I love it! Also woven Hudson’s ☺️ did you stick with the same size when making them in woven? X
So, everything I read said to size up- and I did, but then ended up taking it all out again. I guess I wear my Hudson’s a bit baggy? I added a good 3” to the length, and I wish I had added and inch or two the front and back rise .
Hi, how do you think the Mandy compares to the hemlock tee? Enjoy your vlogs!
Sandy Klingenstein hmm! I haven’t made the Hemlock! If you head over to the Stitch Sisters channel, they have a Battle of the free tees video that I think covers both!
Hi lisa am a subscriber just wanted to know where i can get the jacket pattern been searching for over 2 years for it.
It’s the Mona. www.makemylemonade.com/collections/patrons/products/patron-de-couture-mona?_pos=1&_fid=68118f043&_ss=c
All are are ver y beautiful but the jacket is a dream.
What mean A0 paper?
Thanks from Puerto Rico.
I think that’s the Euro paper size.
I like all those pieces! I might take the plunge and sew up my stripes now having seen yours, I’ve been a bit nervous!
Any tips on how to prevent audio lag on iPad? When I record my vlog on my iPad the audio sometimes gradually drifts. Do you use iMovie to edit? Love your vids!
Sew PrettyKitty Thank you! I sometimes notice drag on RUclips with a lot of videos- but it never happens when I play my recorded videos on my IPad. That said, I notice that is happening less lately, so it might have been a glitch. Yes, I just use iMovie. Easy easy. ;)
Thanks! It’s only after I’ve uploaded that it happens, maybe you are right and it’s a RUclips glitch xxx
Great looks where did you get the fabric
It’s from a fabric sale I went to that a local clothing boutique was having. If you look back to my Fabric Haul video you can see it!
