Jomez Productions - Jonny V DID ADMIT that filming is harder than he thought it would be. That's a win for all of us seeing how he normally just sits in a chair ;)
For all the comments, on AB emulating McBeth. This kid has studied everybody, His most natural form is like McBeth's, we have watched him from a very young age, and have feared the whooping that we would all soon enough receive. Truth is, he can emulate any of top pros throwing form down to each little nuance, Its quite amazing! Uli, Koling, Climo, Shusterick, Wysocki, name it and AB can emulate them-(maybe future the disc golf guy footage?) AB is a true student of the game, He is his own person with an incredible family that keeps him balanced and grounded. There is no better all around Individual we can ask for as the 2015 Am world champ. #IwouldEMULATEmyMentor2 #
Pete Ulibarri i was watching thinking is this mcbeth....but then thinking "well he is mcbeth's protégé..." and why not do what works for the 3x world champ....its not rocket surgery....
Congrats to all the AM's, they all threw a great round and some of those putts were unreal. Thanks for getting the footage that I was hoping to see and I know many of us are looking forward to seeing more from all these players in the future.
Wow......some impressive kids here! One complaint I sort of have, just about every hole was a long par 4 or 5, throw a couple shorter more technical shots in that final nine layout for some variety.....
Bob Loblaw He may throw like McBeth. However, I saw him play at The Norman Pro-Am this past May. He clearly has more growing up to do. He was angry, not just at himself, but at those around. He made a bad throw, several times, and grown ups were telling him, "It's okay". All he did was throw a fit by kicking his bag on the verge of tears while doing so.
J D I understand. However, at 15, one should know how to conduct themselves. All the while representing, not just himself, but his game entirely. Hell my 6 year old niece knows how to conduct herself out in public. Less excuses, more results.
LOL @ everyone complaining about Barela emulating McBeast. Paul has sort of taken the kid under his wing and obviously influenced him. If you had Paul McBeth helping your game would you not emulate everything he's taught/shown you? Give the kid a break. He is a fantastic player along with everyone on this card. TDGG, thank you kid sir. Surely some tough angles for you to film but it was enjoyable as always.
Ice cold. Hopefully this sport takes off w/ huge sponsors. That kid is a real athlete and if he put the time and focus into golf (the obvious comparison) he could take 10th place in one tournament and win more than Mcbeth has in his lifetime. IMO this is way more athleticism too, with just the same amount of focus required.
so much fun to watch... deserving champ.. and what a contrast with that Izak guy... looks like it could be a real rivalry of the future. Fire vs. Ice. and as for that Gavin kid.. as that young man learns to put better and better...his ceiling is NO ceiling... good Lord i felt sorry for the discs when he let them go full force.
Oh lord, another McBeast? Or maybe a Beastela? Anyways, what composure out there, looking forward to seeing this kids performance in the future. I had a few buddies in their early 30s go out there for AM worlds. Glad to see they all got tooled by a minor. Pa Pow!!
I've seen Izak throw in Illinois an his hometown and man I wish i could bomb like him and hes so young, on another note is he moving to Innova? I thought he was on Prodigy.
It was a joy watching Barela play, As for Izac McDonald, all I could think is that even though he is so young, he really needs to learn some course etiquette.
***** - thank you. Getting it put out immediately was my top concern which is why this doesn't have commentary. It is NOT out of the question to sit down and still make another version WITH commentary so that might still happen but for timeliness, I wanted to get this version out asap.
thediscgolfguy Right, for sure. I phrased the question badly - meant to ask why there was no "play by play" - your live commentary that you normally do. Was it because you didn't want to affect the mental composure of the amateur players?
***** - good question and clarification. I had a serious conversation with my pal Jonny V and there were a number of reasons: 1) Although I feel I have a good rapport with many competitors including these "ams", I still didn't want to possibly distract them as they aren't used to many cameras around them let alone live commentary. 2) I didn't know just how intense the hill would be and believe it or not, even thin people had to catch their breath at time and I was worried that I might sound winded or less on point. In hindsight - I could have pulled it off though as the pace of the finals was relatively slow. I hope that provides a little legitimate insight for you. Thanks for asking!
Mateo - Short answer is "yes". Long answer - I was there on Friday afternoon, Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon. That's all I can speak of for what I personally covered. I will have footage which represents all of those time frames but it will not be just leadercard as you asked about. Friday's play had a mixture of a bunch of people from a bunch of divisions and not following just a single card. Saturday you will see my back 9 from the Semi-Finals of the Advanced Leadercard and then this of course. Thanks for watching!
I don't think that there is nothing wrong about Anthony Berula copying McBeth. I started playing disc golf because of him and literally every disc golf game I watch has Paul in it, because I love his style. Which means my throwing style is really similar to him too.
AB isn't really all that like McBeth. He looks and acts a bit like him, and there is obviously some influence, but technically they differ quite a bit. he isn't a clone by any stretch.
+Peter mercil i agree... his build is more like Climo...long and lanky and able to whip... but that Gavin kid make Barela look human because he was even more whip-like
hoxiej I know hes just a kid, but dang, he is just over the top arrogant. cant stand that. he could have won it. the maturity and discipline of Barela won this tournament
so in 15 years which one is going to be Climo and which one will be Shultz..lol...ima go with AB as THE CHAMP...so far anyways....cant choke like that on the final bucket....and I noticed Izak was a complete professional the whoooole time until he shanked on the final drive then after AB's tee shot he said "yea, that's OB"....little snot..
Synapsis - I'll just say one quick thing because I know Izac's demeanor just a tad. When he was replaying to AB and he said "Yeah, that's OB" he didn't mean it in a snotty way. I think he was just trying to emphasis that it was by a long shot. He did handle himself very well. I'm not sure I could have remained that composed knowing that an Am Worlds title was just one hole away and it slipped away from him.
no Terry, I agree on Izak's composure just until there very last hole and he made that comment on AB's shot (he act said "yea that's ob" right after ab threw his drive in high hopes that ab's drive went ob, watch it again) like "yea, you choked too lol"...just a tad unfitting for a AMW Runner Up...he had been cheering every shot all day and trying up lift players on their bd shots and when the chips were down he sure as hell hoped with all his heart that AB's shot went over the line. but....at 15,he has many seasons to pick up more wins and just that 1% of sportsmanship.
I didn't see anything wrong with izak was doing. He was having fun...he would cheer people on for good shots and support ppl for bad shots.. You guys are all nuts to go nit picking little boys. Who are the next mcbeths or will Schustericks or uli. All the kids were having fun out there. I laughed a couple times throughout the taping.
I have never heard so much hootin' and hollerin' after every throw. I guess it's because I'm not that good, kinda don't want to be if that's what happens.
Really? Point to where I said I didn't know Michigan gets snow. Guess I was wrong after all. You're more of a tool than I gave you credit for initially. Well done!
amazing throws and putts ^^ thx for the coverage Read this after you watch the video becouse this is a spoiler.... v v v v v v v v you been warned !!! v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v Mcdonald made a bad decision at last hole, he did go ob but if he just play it safe and put it close to the bastket he would have got a chance to a playoff, instead he played another ob, i think he went for the basket for 3, that was a bad decision, anyway maybe barella would made that putt then or maybe not becouse the pressure would rise if mcdonald putt the disc under the pin and maybe he would won.. play smart guys, how simple the putt may look its not..
ThunderUp34 - I've said in other posts that you can certainly see some of the McBeth influences. However, I can also go out to just about any PDGA A-Tier and watch any of the top 20 Advanced players I could pin point EXACT things those players are doing to perfectly mimic something one of our top pros are doing. It could be a twist of the foot before putting, a spin of the disc, a wipe of the hand - there are dozens of little mannerisms that I see many players copy of other players. I agree that AB seemingly displays a number of traits that Paul has but I guess I'd rather seem him copy the best versus say, someone like me.
ThunderUp34 Funny how that kid won Am Worlds. Are you salty because this young and rising star has based a lot of his game off the current best disc golfer, and not The Champ? Because as far as I know, more than half of the people that I see, older than 18, seem to have a lot of their game based on The Champ. Get used to kids looking like McBeth, Ricky, or Lizotte.
Imagine not having this Barela/Rathbun Am Worlds footage. We really can't thank you enough for all you do for disc golf, Terry!
Who’s here after tour life?
Am world champ at 15 years old..this is why I film more than I play now! Great job AB, and great coverage by #teamjonnymiller
Jomez Productions - Jonny V DID ADMIT that filming is harder than he thought it would be. That's a win for all of us seeing how he normally just sits in a chair ;)
Look who I found lol
Damn...at least say spoiler alert.... Just a reminder to me.. Don't read the comments on the first hole of final 9 coverage ...

He does a better Ricky impression.
Congrats to all the AM's, they all threw a great round and some of those putts were unreal. Thanks for getting the footage that I was hoping to see and I know many of us are looking forward to seeing more from all these players in the future.
Mike Gilbert - they are an amazing group of players for sure and I'm just excited that I was there to witness it all.
Did I see a Valerie Mandujano sighting at 19:10??
Wow......some impressive kids here! One complaint I sort of have, just about every hole was a long par 4 or 5, throw a couple shorter more technical shots in that final nine layout for some variety.....
Awesome........ this was so fun to watch! That last hole was epic!
Anthony Barela acts and throws just like mcbeth
Bob Loblaw - there is certainly some Paul McBeth influence there and if you are going to emulate a single player, McBeth seems like a good choice.
thediscgolfguy and this is why I love you disc golf guy. ha
He Said She said The kid is what, 15 years old? Give him a break.
J D I understand. However, at 15, one should know how to conduct themselves. All the while representing, not just himself, but his game entirely. Hell my 6 year old niece knows how to conduct herself out in public. Less excuses, more results.
Wow! A Mark Ellis sighting! Bring back the Team Discraft clinic videos!
Is that cupcake?!?!? Wow cool to see them then and now. Go win world's this year AB!
Timestamp?
AB’s caddy. Check 36:08
@@doggyd.floofy7445 whoaaaaa!!!
wow. so young and so composed. nice coverage terry. thanks.
Ben Anderson - glad you liked it Ben. Very cool, calm and collected for sure.
LOL @ everyone complaining about Barela emulating McBeast. Paul has sort of taken the kid under his wing and obviously influenced him. TDGG, thank you kid sir. Surely some tough angles for you to film but it was enjoyable as always.
Izac McDonald played a great tournament, is he still playing?
I think this a good sign for the future of competitive disc golf.
also... brings back such fun memories- young and first learning and everything is an ace run in your mind.
Just Incredible play. Way to Go Anthony!
AB! What a stud. He's even shy like Mcbeast
so much fun to watch... deserving champ.. and what a contrast with that Izak guy... looks like it could be a real rivalry of the future. Fire vs. Ice. and as for that Gavin kid.. as that young man learns to put better and better...his ceiling is NO ceiling... good Lord i felt sorry for the discs when he let them go full force.
Heart breaking for Gavin. Missed putts on the first 5 holes is not exactly an ideal start to a final 9.
DGweekly With the best drive on each one of those holes. It shows the promise that he has. Look out when he dials in the putter.
It was the exact opposite the whole tournament I can just never put them TOEGTHER :(
Gavin Rathbun "A" for effort, little buddy.
Oh lord, another McBeast? Or maybe a Beastela?
Anyways, what composure out there, looking forward to seeing this kids performance in the future.
I had a few buddies in their early 30s go out there for AM worlds. Glad to see they all got tooled by a minor. Pa Pow!!
Check him now
I've seen Izak throw in Illinois an his hometown and man I wish i could bomb like him and hes so young, on another note is he moving to Innova? I thought he was on Prodigy.
is that cupcake caddying for AB? ....IMAC way to rep dude!!!!! awesome
WOW! imac is from my town, dudes a studdd...that was some entertaining stuff 💪
It was a joy watching Barela play, As for Izac McDonald, all I could think is that even though he is so young, he really needs to learn some course etiquette.
nothingbutchain I didn't notice any breaches of etiquette from McDonald. What am I missing?
nothingbutchain I too thought so as well. He airballed that putt, then went running after his disc, when he wasn't the one out.
ballsmcgee17 but also, he is young and in the spotlight there, so that's nitpickin. Kid has game.
How old is everyone in this group?
nothingbutchain agreed. Pretty embarrassing.
Geez, that Gavin kid has an absolute cannon for an arm.
James Cordes - he certainly does. He BOMBS!
James Cordes Yes he certainly does, but the DB yelling "OHHHHH MY GOOOOOOSSHHHH" after every drive he had was pretty nauseating.
Way to go AB - Great work
A lot enthusiastic parents in the gallery I guess? Shouting and wooing after every shot :P Gets to be slightly annoying after a while.
Can't stand excessive whooping and hollering on the course.
Great coverage Terry, but why no commentary?

Will you be releasing more footage than this? I wish there was a way to watch the entire top card from all the days of play
Mateo - Short answer is "yes".

Izac just threw the wrong disc there, good job tho kid youll get it next year

On first teeoff mcbeth, locastro, koling, wysocki. Hahahaa

Nice job Terbear

That Izak needs someone giving him some better advice. If he just gets his upshot close on 9, maybe there's a playoff...
hoxiej I know hes just a kid, but dang, he is just over the top arrogant. cant stand that. he could have won it. the maturity and discipline of Barela won this tournament
I personally thought izak threw a better round, probably just mis judged on the disc selection on 9 otherwise he played solid

I know the frames you are speaking of where ab was asking if izaks shot went out to izak.
thediscgolfguy i stand correctedterry, he said "AB" as to ike say good shot to get ab's attention after ab's shot.
I didn't see anything wrong with izak was doing. He was having fun...he would cheer people on for good shots and support ppl for bad shots.. You guys are all nuts to go nit picking little boys. Wow the kid can throw! Looks like McBeth 2.0 and is still so young. Watch out Paul.
17:53 hahaha just dance it off
How could you miss that putt like that?? I was asking myself that same question to him through my screen. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
#GreatJob🤙🏽 #AB🏆
I have never heard so much hootin' and hollerin' after every throw. I guess it's because I'm not that good, kinda don't want to be if that's what happens.
No one is talking about the strangest part of this video: That there's a friggin' ski area in Michigan??
We enjoy all four Seasons here. Why shouldn't we have a ski resort? :)
Lol most idiotic comment of the day.
Yours? Don't be so hard on yourself, you're probably just a complete tool.
Haha coming from the guy who didn't know michigan had snow.
Really? Point to where I said I didn't know Michigan gets snow. Guess I was wrong after all. You're more of a tool than I gave you credit for initially. Well done!
All the young boy stomach footage is super weird
That was drew palmer super lame kid lol
I think the contender played much better than his winning opponent.
Small Mc Bets!
amazing throws and putts ^^ thx for the coverage

It's funny how much Anthony tries to act like mcbeast.
Be your own person

My thoughts exactly. Even his hair and I think shirt.
ThunderUp34 You mean the kid that won? He should be taking advice from someone on youtube? El oh El.
ThunderUp34 Funny how that kid won Am Worlds. Are you salty because this young and rising star has based a lot of his game off the current best disc golfer, and not The Champ? Michal Kopij my thoughts exactly
Its weird seeing the old guy play with 15 year olds....just saying.
dude got himself on lead card by playing well, its not a KIDS event, its a AMATEUR event, anyone and everyone can be an amateur. lol
Seems like AB being a bit of a poor sport...
