- In this gameplay video, I try every single (underwhelming) challenge in this Namco Collection, before giving Pac-Man Vs a try and wondering why a better game wasn't included.

This is probably one of my favorite Namco Museums out there just for the sheer amount of good presentation it has. Even if it doesn't have extras it's still a fun collection especially with Pac-Man VS.

Man I wish that someone could release the menu themes. Anyway, this version of Namco Museum is a little interesting.

Okay so where's the hub area where that mimics a museum. I haven't played a Namco Museum since the ps1 but why get rid of the museum part of Namco Museum?
They've ditched it since Namco Museum Encore on PSone. In that game though all museum elements were just hidden in a menu seemingly due to time constraints, but since then we either get very few production materials (usually in namco-developed ones, and Namco Museum DS) or none at all (most NM games since 64).
There hasn't been a walkable museum since Volume 5. The museum elements with history and stuff has come and gone but DS is the closest you'll get since M2 did it. I admit, I wish this compilation had all the flyers and such too.

I kinda wiser they included Motos, Pac Land, or Assault. And name the games release years’ in numbers instead of Roman numerals and beside would be either 2017 Namco Ltd. or 2017 NBGI.
And this doesn’t even look like a museum. They should have titled this “Namco Flash Treasures” or something like that 😒
@@RandomRetroTrainGuy82 The "Namco Museum" brand name is pretty much just their catchall for retro reissues, since 2000. The museum part was ditched eons ago (closest since was the menu in Namcot Collection that has a bookshelf and the OG manuals). Evercade uses it too.
Good news is with ACA, Motos, Assault and likely all the other fun ones you can think of should be viable in the future! Phozon got added lately and I consider that Motos' Sister game (Since I mix them up)

Is it just me or did it seem like Galaga was not working correctly? You collected your 2nd ship from the enemy but then you didn’t get to shoot with it. And then on stage 2, the enemy captured your ship but left it up top of the screen. 🤔🤔. Guess I might have to pass on this game if the games don’t even run the way they are supposed to.
No, that's normal. If you kill the enemy capture before they attack you, the ship stays static at the top and you're forced to kill it. It has to swoop down alongside the Boss Galaga, as hitting him then will free your ship for combination. The only thing different about these games are the challenge modes which remix the games for special challenges, and that's what I did in this video. The game was modified so that you have tons of lives to mess with in order to rescue ships, but the OG scorechaser is there too with online leaderboards.

The fact that Mappy is not included on this compilation is a terrible move by Namco. Mappy is a really great game, and they decide not to include it? This Namco Museum is not worth my bucks, I ain't buying it.
Luckily for you, NAMCOT Collection was just announced for Japan, which includes Mappy on Famicom as DLC

@@retrofan4963 Yes. It's a Japan only switch exclusive, coming out in June. There'll be at least three DLC packs and Mappy was shown in the japanese direct mini to be part of one of them.
