He said quite a few people in town get a mucus plug from the corn dust that gets expelled into the air. You should see the yellow dust clinging to the overpass guard rail/fence! I think they put new scrubbers on the pipes, since things look cleaner the last few years...and my lungs don't hurt as often. I also have Sarcoidosis.
FiO2 is the fraction of inspired oxygen. Simply put, it is a mixture of O2 from the oxygen device and the air in the atmosphere. Air is made up of 21% O2 ,78% Nitrogen and then a mixture of misc gases. When you use a certain device like a Venti it entrains the room air from the atmosphere and mixes with the oxygen. This gives the patient a set FIO2 which means you know exactly how much oxygen they are getting. This is done with a room entrainment port at the end of the device which will say the exact FiO2. When you put a patient on a nasal cannula and you set the device to 2 L they say it's around 28% of oxygen they are getting but you don't really know that because they don't have a set FiO2. Now for LPM is how many liters the patient is getting in a minute. I'm assuming you are confused about the LPM with the FIO2. This is explained through an FIO2 ratio. There's videos that explain how you get LPM with FiO2 ratio but ill try to explain briefly. Basically if you have 40% oxygen then you have a 3:1 FiO2 ratio. This is the ratio for oxygen and air at 40%. To get liters per minute you add the ratio 3+1 = 4 and then times it by the LPM you want and that gives you your total flow. If you want it set at 10LPM it would be 4 x 10 which is 40LPM. Idk if this helps but i hope he does because it took me a long time to understand FiO2/LPM
I have it too. Going on 4 months. I just saw a pulmonologist friday and she wants to review my chest CT from the hospital first. But yes, it can cause chest pain when you breathe in. I usually change positions when this happens. But this is a horrible thing to live with. I hope we will all find relief!
Big like. My mother has atelectasis on both sides, she had gone through a car accident which resulted in pneumothorax, pleural effusion amd multiple surgeries. She finished all the treatment a year ago but still she has atelectasis. I don't know what to do
Maybe she was supposed to get a followup xray or instructions. Sometimes I call and talk to a doctors assistant to find out what the next step is supposed to be.

I was told I have atelectasis. It hurts (stabbing pain) when I breathe in. Is that normal?
I have atelectasis since i was 4 year's old i am so sensetive if i got tired i would have an asthma
